Chapter 03

The hurtful words came for him again!

"You have nobody.... Your foolish ancestors will be ashamed of the poverty father became... What an empty skull filthy poor fool." He heard Barbra's mother's voice insult him as he kept running through the streets.

"I made a mistake marrying a poor dirty rag like you! A toilet cleaner! A leech!" He heard Barbra's voice slamming left and right.

"We don't even know his true identity, this idiot seduced my daughter into marriage, he might even be an escaped criminal!" Barbara's family voices kept hurting his feelings as he ran!

"He's a dog! disgusting fool!!"

"Dirty poverty stroked the beggar!"

"Confused Ingrate!"

He recalled all the humiliation he went through.

From the dragging of his tie like a dog out of their business area to the spits... Spat over his face.

"This isn't the first time children die." He heard Barbra's earliest words strike through him.

He recalled all the times he would give Barbra his money for Nelson's treatment and realised the number of times she used that same money to go clubbing with her friends.

His mind finally exits from his past histories as he spotted that some gangsters were running to him.

Gerald pulled out his gun, Shooting back at them.

He was good at shooting... his father trained him into a killing machine for no reason... Reasons why He ran from home.

One of the guys came with a machine gun trying to get him but he bent dodging the bullets as He shot back at him without any hesitation.

The gangsters' bike then crashes over a car as Gerald walks closer to him, and gets the bike that crashed into use, to speed off the area.

He started it and sped up till He had reached the central city area , knowing fully well that the bad guys were definitely coming for him too.

"Where are you?" Gerald asked.

Three black tinted cars parked in front of him.... He came down from his bike heading towards the car... and the windows opened.

He soon See's the Russian Mafia... He was shocked to see it was his long old friend and never knew he would grow to be a drug dealer at all.

He saw him as any normal friend would.

"Where's my money?" Gerald asked him.

"Money?... Baron was paid fifty million dollars" He said as he noticed Gerald's refusal to give him the box, so he pulled off his gun and shot Gerald's arm.

Gerald fell to the ground.

He was bleeding badly as the mafia drove off speedily, whilsts the police began to parade the area to get them shot or arrested.

Gerald crawled towards the power bike and he managed to get over it before starting the engine with his last strength and headed into a narrow road, without the police capturing his face.

Security Officials flooded the place.

They blocked the bad guys coming for him and opened fire on them as he narrowly escaped from the police's back who did not notice him.

Gerald felt betrayed as he felt since Baron was obviously cheating him... He wouldn't want to steal from him, but it was worse than stealing.

Gerald felt used by Baron.

Baron Condemned his best friend to death.

"Where is Baron?" He asked the neighbour.

"On his way to England now." The neighbour replies to him entering her house and shutting her door close to avoid trouble.

He could not say a word anymore.

"Ahh!" He cried as he dipped his finger into his huge chest, digging deeper as he got the bullet and removed it from his flesh.

Afterwards... He used alcohol He found to pour over the injury on his chest, before cleaning the blood with a cloth... he also used to tie a foam He found... To cover the wound.

Then He used a tape; to tape all around the injury before wearing one of Baron's jackets he left to cover the fact that He had received a gunshot.

He walked to the power bike... He had parked, turning it on as He used the bike to head back to the hospital where He met Barbra.

Soon afterwards, he reached the hospital.

"Barbra..." He said to her as she looked at him.

"Oh your back now." She says, looking at him up and down.

"Barbra... Let's make a deal." He said to her.

"And what is that?" She says, looking away.

"Since you want a divorce so badly... How about you sign the divorce papers and you get money from your rich parents for Nelson's health?" He begged her.

"Really? You will sign the papers if I do that?" She asked me.

"Yes, sure." He replied to her.

"Then there's no problem, I will save your son's life." She said to him as he looked at the mother of his child, hurt at her words.

She then steps away from him before heading outside as he follows her behind slowly.

Good thing his bleeding had stopped but the pains in his chest were intense.

He turned to look at Nelson's room before He turned back and headed outside.

"I won't fail you." Gerald said before leaving.

Soon afterwards He rush up from his bed rubbing his hand through his hair as Nelson's photo glass frame falls from his hand onto the floor.

He had slept for a whole night.

His wife Barbra was nowhere to be found, after destroying his things... She was in a good condition with him since he agreed to sign the divorce papers, so she didn't let the guards throw him out.

Gerald watches as Nelson's photo glass broke into pieces and even tore her photo in the frame into two, making him really shocked.

Was that a sign?

Like a bad Omen?

He bent down picking it up as he stared at his beautiful son's torn photo for a while before He heard the door alarm ring again... He dropped her picture over a desk close to the door as he hurried downstairs.

He opened the door and it's Barbra.

She uses her hand to push him into the house so disrespectfully as she walks in and sits over one of the parlour's chairs.

"Hello Gerald... Here are the divorce papers, please go ahead and sign it." She says dropping the document over the table for him to sign.

He wanted one thing alone and that was for her to get cash from her family since they wanted him gone as soon as possible, so it shouldn't be a big deal for them to at-least save their grandchild's life in exchange for him to sign his divorce.

He could now see the demon his wife was.
