When Brandon’s eyes fell on Manuel, he was slightly taken aback.
There’s no way he wouldn’t recognize his master.
He quickly moved forward and walked to Manuel.
He almost hugged him out of joy.
He hadn’t seen his master in years.
He hurriedly bowed and said in a low voice, “Sir, I honestly had no idea that you were here. Please forgive my impudence.”
Everyone in the private suite was shocked at this moment.
The superior arrogant Brandon who could seal their fate with just a snap of his fingers was now standing beside Manuel respectfully, just like a student awaiting punishment from the lecturer.
Brandon’s subordinates were not exempted from the shock.
Manuel was the only one that remained calm with a straight face.
“Just let them go, they’re all my classmates after all,” Manuel said.
He only decided to let go all because of Shirley. Asides him, Shirley had other friends and would definitely not want them to get immersed in troubles.
“Yes! I’ll do whatever you say. I’ll let them go. I’d love to catch up with you sir. Get them away from here, don’t let them disturb us,”
Brandon was getting extremely worked up.
Manuel’s classmates were all shocked.
Shirley even murmured, “I did not expect Manuel to help us out. But how is this even possible?”
Someone amongst his classmates also whispered, “Did we accuse him wrongly? He might be quite capable and extremely successful to have Brandon Walker treat him with utmost respect.”
Damien was flustered at this moment. He was utterly disgraceful tonight. He must find a way to salvage his image and reputation.
“I know! Manuel must’ve planned this before hand and wanted to bluff everyone’s money...” Damien said bitterly.
Shirley just snorted.
After they all dispersed from the suite, everyone gave a look of scorn at Damien before driving away in their vehicles leaving Damien alone, gritting his teeth.
Now, there were only Manuel and Brandon in the private suite right now. Brandon stood with his head bowed down, he still looked out the window reluctantly and said, “Master, these people are so ungrateful especially the one who kept running his mouth. Do you want me to…”
“Just forget about them,” Manuel brushed Brandon off and took a deep breath facing the window.
Only the powerful gets to have a meaningful say in this world. If not for Shirley, he would have just kept quiet and allow Brandon deal with them in the way he deemed fit.
Brandon carefully studied his master. He still had that dangerous aura around him but it seemed to have lessened a bit, somehow. And for those people to talk about him in such manner…
How dare they?!
He was increasingly growing angry once more at the thought of it.
“Master, how have you been? You look stressed.”
Manuel turned to face Brandon revealing a slight smile, “I’ve been well.”
“But master… the way you were being treated just now…” Brandon hesitated looking like a wounded puppy.
Manuel softened his expression at the level of care Brandon still had for him even after loosing contact for quite some years. Tapping him slightly on his left shoulder to reassure him, he said, “It’s nothing to worry about. I’m fine sincerely.”
Brandon teared up a bit at his master still trying to put up a strong front. Even if he didn’t know what exactly went on with his master, it was definitely that serious if people looked down on him this much now.
“Master, if at all you need me don’t hesitate to send for me.”
Having exchanged contacts, Brandon felt more at ease.
Checking the time, Manuel knew he had wasted a lot of time out here and had to return home.
As soon as they were done speaking, he hopped on his motorbike and disappeared from Brandon’s dull sight.
On getting to the estate where his villa was situated, the gate was locked.
Manuel alighted his bike and walked up to the security post.
“Excuse me, I want to get through.”
A security guard peered over Manuel’s shoulder to his motorbike and eyed him suspiciously, “And who might you be here to visit?”
“Not here to visit anyone, I live here,” Manuel replied.
The other two security guards began to laugh.
“What do you mean by ‘you live here’?”
“You can’t even afford a clean motorbike and you’re thinking of owning a house here.”
“Do you know where this is? Even popular influencers come by the estate gates to try and make some videos because even standing by these gates is a privilege for them not to talk of you.”
Manuel massaged his forehead with his thumb and forefinger. He just had a stressful evening, does this have to add to it?
“I really do live here. On the west side of this estate.”
Now this made the guards laugh even harder.
“Do you know who lives there?” one of the guards asked Manuel.
“Even though the person who lives there is quite mysterious, it can’t be you boy,” another said amidst laughter.
“And why is that?” Manuel raised an eyebrow.
“Oh we’ll tell you why. The person living there, bought all the surrounding houses on the west side because he doesn’t want to be disturbed.”
“Now tell me, if you can’t even afford one house, how on earth did you become the owner of the west side villas?”
The guards laughed again.
Manuel obviously knew if he didn’t do anything soon, he’d be spending the night with the mosquitoes outside. He called Gavin twice before he picked up.
“Gavin, I’m stuck outside the estate. The securities won’t let me through.”
On hearing his words, the security guards looked amusingly at him and one of them couldn’t help but speak up.
“Young man, we’ve tolerated your insolence for an abnormal amount of time. I advise you to leave now before we fling you out ourselves.”
Gavin on the other side of the phone heard that and hurriedly cut the call to reach out to the manager in charge of the estate.
In precisely a minute one of the guards got a call and he picked it up only to hear the raging voice of his employer, “Are you all crazy? You’ve kept our biggest customer out for too long.”
“Its just some guy with a motorbike here sir. We’ll deal with him, not to worry sir.” The security replied completely oblivious to his manager’s tone.
The manager almost shed tears when he heard this, shouting with every ounce of power in him, “You fool! Let the man through. That’s the owner of the west side villas. Pass him the phone now!!”
On hearing that, the guard was extremely shaking.
He looked terrified.

The board meeting unfolded like every other board meeting. Manuel had slept in the room in his office and so he was able to be in the office earlier than most people. Now, the board members were slowly beginning to get used to Manuel and some of them had even began to talk freely. One director complained about rise logistics cost, another suggested delaying the european partnership and someone else proposed increasing the advertising budget. The routine was normal for a board meeting.Manuel stood at the head of the table in silence and began to tap his fingers slightly against the polished wood as he looked distracted and then he stopped. Across the room sat the people he had worked with for a few months and some had even served the company longer than he had been alive yet one of them had hacked their way into his trap but which one?“President Rodriguez?” Director Hayes pushed his glasses up his nose. “The manufacturing reports require your approval.”Manuel glanced at him, snappin

Four years ago…Alistair burst into the hospital room, flowers in one hand and documents in the other. “We’ve going to be okay.”His wife looked up at him and said weakly, “You sound confident.” He laughed shakily, “The merger goes through next week. We’ll have enough and you’ll receive treatment. We’ll travel after this, you’ve always wanted to see Italy, remember?”She frowned slightly and asked, “The merger you told me you were still drafting? But it’s not finished yet.”Alistair was ambitious and didn’t just want to be a board member or a chairman in Rodriguez Enterprises, he also wanted to become a reliable business partner to them. He was working on the merger before his wife fell ill and then he had to abandon it and if the deal fell through, he believed to receive a lot of profit from it. Though it was not yet completed, he was going to mask it up and send it directly to the CEO, who was also known as the shadow broker even though he had never seen him in person despite his po

Past midnight, Rodriguez Enterprises remained unusually quiet. Most of the employees had gone home hours ago and only cleaning staff moved through the deserted corridors.Inside the President’s office, the glow of his computer screen illuminated Manuel’s face and stacks of files lay open across the desk, board attendance records, archived reports, meeting transcripts and old investment summaries. Manuel had the habit of maintaining order but for him to be that messy, it was strange.Gavin sat on the couch adjacent to Manuel and couldn’t help but watch his boss sift through old documents that had been long forgotten. “You’ve been looking through documents from four years ago the entire day. Sir please, you need to rest.”Manuel didn’t answer immediately as his eyes still remained on the screen going through the Project 608, the merger proposal, board discussions and attendance sheet and the same names appeared repeatedly. Gavin stood up and walked closer to Manuel, “What exactly are yo

Three days later, the trap was ready and Brandon personally delivered it. The employees of Rodriguez Enterprises were in awe and fear of Brandon as they watched him head straight in the direction of Manuel’s office. “Brandon looks so cool,” a female employee said in a slightly hushed tone to her friend and her friend replied, “Of course, he would be. Seems like Brandon is close with our boss, this isn’t the first time he’s come here and when he does he always heads in the boss’ office direction.”On hearing that, the female employee squealed, trying to keep her voice under wraps, “Then I should hit the salon and spa more often if Brandon Walker is going to keep showing up here. Who knows, one day he might notice me.”Nudging the female employee, her friend said, “You better snap out of your delusions. We’ve got work to finish, as if someone like him would ever notice insignificant beings like us.”Hours passed as they tested every feature, every folder, every document, every hidden p

The evening rush at the Eastbay Diner was in full swing. Waitresses and waiters moved between tables carrying trays loaded with food and drinks. Laughter mixed with the clinking of glasses while a live band played softly from a small platform near the far corner of the restaurant area.Outside, luxury cars and ordinary sedans filled the parking lot alike. Inside, nobody cared. Eastbay Diner had earned its reputation years ago and it wasn’t just because it was a famous place to dine and wine but also because it didn’t just offer menus to the rich. Rich and average classed, everyone came for the food and also for the owner. Whoever could get on Brandon Walker’s good side and possibly strike a deal with him would be said to have supposedly hit the jackpot. The glass doors opened and a cool breeze swept inside as Manuel Rodriguez stepped into the diner wearing a black coat over a dark shirt. He looked so casual and Gavin followed a few steps behind. Several customers glanced up from whate

“My firewall showed attempted penetration. It wasn’t noticeable but because I had Brandon get someone to strengthen my firewall with a detector, I noticed. And I was also able to find out someone else besides Penelope had a motive for our dinner that day and so I indulged her.”Even though Manuel had proven himself to be worthy of the positions as the President and CEO and was obviously doing well, there were still some people that did not want to accept it but no one had the audacity to voice out especially when he was revealed to be Sir Jeremy’s successor. Unfortunately, they’ve now chosen to resort to extreme measures. The next day, Penelope got to her office very early to avoid the stares and gazes of some people but as soon as she stepped into her office, she saw someone in a black suit with his back to her sitting on her own swivel chair facing the glass wall and looking down at pedestrians down below. She became on high alert and quickly pulled out her phone.“There would be no
