4 A PARTY FOR THE NOBLE BUSINESS PEOPLE

In the evening, they arrived at the party after a long ride, however, at the gate of the party place, Aidan met his ex-wife, and also another young man with her.

Immediately Kate set eyes on Aidan, she frowned and began wondering what he had come to do there. He should realize that such places are not for people like him.

Maybe, he still thinks they are still married, which gave him the guts to come there. He should wake up from his sleep.

He should realize that they are not on the same level. She isn't the Kate he knew before, she's now a changed person, and he should know that.

Again, Kate was angry because Aidan attacked her younger brother for no reason. Or maybe he was angry at her, which made him do that.

Kate couldn't tell what was going on with Aidan. They just got divorced, and he is already harming her family members.

He shouldn't try that nonsense!

Aidan smiled to himself after seeing the smirk on Kate's face when their eyes met. He knew she was unsettled and shocked to see him here.

The truth is that she never knew he was coming here anyways. So, of course, she will be surprised to see him.

‘ She's already flirting with other men? This is more serious than I thought.’ Aidan thought inwardly after setting eyes on the young man standing with Kate.

“ Why are you here?” Kate inquired and lowered her gaze to him.

Sharon stood by the side watching Kate talking to Aidan. On the other hand, the man who was with Kate stood with his hands akimbo and glared at Aidan.

Aidan sighed and replied calmly,“ Well, I'm here because I was invited by a friend of mine. Do you have any issues with that?”

Kate rolled her eyes with an expression that says ‘whatever’. She averted her gaze from Aidan to the girl standing beside him.

She wanted to ask who the girl was to him, but she immediately remembered that they were divorced and saw no reason to make any queries about the girl.

“ And who is she?” Sharon finally asked as if she was suspecting something.

Aidan frowned and responded to her.“ She's my ex-wife.” his cracked voice echoed.

“ What?” Sharon was shocked.“ ex-wife?” she asked, not because she was demanding an answer for it.

“ Yeah, she divorced me,” he announced nervously.

Sharon was stunned, as she couldn't believe that someone like Aidan can be divorced by any woman. A billionaire? Maybe she doesn't know his identity.

“ She divorced you?” another question sneaked out of Sharon's mouth.

Aidan confirmed by nodding his head without uttering a word.

Kate kept a calm and proud expression, knowing fully that she had nothing to do with this classless guy standing before her.

But her thoughts took control of her, and she began remembering how hard Aidan had worked, tirelessly for the past three years.

She knows how he has contributed to making her get to the level she was currently.

Her mood suddenly changed. She was angry, she thought she had no feelings for this young man, but seeing him with this beautiful girl reminded her of the good moments they once shared.

The beautiful girl beside Aidan made Kate uncomfortable, but she wouldn't show it because of the young man who was with her.

“ Look!” she said sharply.“ I don't care who invited you or who the girl beside you is to you. But I know that you are here to find me.” she fired.

“ What?” Aidan mouthed.“ I never knew you would be here though.” he explained, but Kate vehemently shocked her head.

“ Do you think I will ever believe you?” she smirked."And of course, I'm convinced this girl standing with you was hired, so you can come and oppress me.” she asserted mockingly.

“ Keep in mind that I can never marry you again because my heart belongs to someone now. So, there's no need to be following me around.”

This made both Aidan and Sharon angry. If only she knew who she was talking to, she wouldn't be able to raise her voice at them.

As if that weren't enough, Antonio, the young man standing with Kate, fired at him.

“ So you were keeping this thing as a husband?” he mocked.“ come on Kate, why will you be keeping beggars around you?” he added and took a step towards Aidan.

He stared Aidan directly in the eye and said,“ This place is for noble people with fancy clothes and not with torn and faded clothes like yours.”

Aidan stared at Antonio as he mocked him in the presence of these ladies standing with them.

“ Mr. Nobody,” Antonio called out teasingly.“ This place is for successful business people and not people who wear cheap clothes like you. This states that you don't belong here.” he sniffed.

“ Enough of the insults!” Sharon snapped and cut in.“ you should be wise to know that he isn't here for trouble, that's why he's quiet.” she scoffed.

Antonio raised his brows, skeptical, and took a step backward.

Aidan was angry. He never knew his wife was like this. A woman who keeps arrogant men around? Terrible.

Sharon turned around and faced Aidan and forced herself to smile at him, but his face remained clouded with anger.

“ I thought they knew who you were, but it's clear that they have no idea of who you are,” Sharon muttered, but Kate and Antonio didn't hear that.

“ Please, forget about these people, and let's go,” said Sharon to Aidan.

At this time, the party began and Sharon took Aidan by the hand and walked past Kate and her new man.

Antonio laughed teasingly and said,“ we don't have time to play with poor guys like you. We have got invitations for this party, but you didn't and this is proof that we are nobler than you.”

He kept barking until Aidan and Sharon were out of sight. He intended to make Aidan angrier, so he can stop lurking around to get his wife back.

Kate, on the other side, stood speechless as she stared at Aidan holding hands with this beautiful girl and walking into the party hall.

However, she couldn't say anything, but she didn't forget to inform them that the party was held by the business talent of the Charles family companies, and the girl should recognize this reality.

She felt like telling the girl to leave Aidan alone, but she couldn't. Although she wasn't ready to settle with him, she felt hurt seeing Aidan with this girl.

“ Babe,” Antonio called her back to reality.“ Forget about him and let's go,” he said and extended his hand for Kate to take.

Kate nodded and smiled at him before taking his hand. Antonio smiled back at her and began to walk to the party hall entrance like a newly wedded couple.

On getting to the enormous party hall with dim lights, and beautiful decorations, Aidan turned and looked at Sharon with a weird face.

He asked,“ The business talent of the Charles family, is that you?”

Sharon smiled at him and admitted with pride as she took Aidan by the hand and led him to a seat in the front row.
