Chapter 1

A 28-year-old man was busy fixing the drains at the Reyes family home. Marco is the family's son-in-law but not your typical son-in-law. In addition to working outside, he often does maid work in the house.

"I always clean this drain regularly. Why is this pipe clogged?" Marco muttered as his hands skillfully loosened the bolts on the water pipe.

If anyone saw Marco's skills, they would have thought that Marco was a plumber. His skills in completing home affairs do look like a professional.

In the kitchen, Eva laughs at Marco. The woman, who turns 30 this year, has worked with the Reyes family for a long time. She never liked Marco and often laughed at him.

"If I ever get married, I won't marry a useless person like Marco." Despite her status as a maid, she was brave enough to call Marco by his first name.

The Reyes family was not a wealthy one. They didn't even fall into the ranks of the third-rate aristocratic families. However, they were not poor either. They could afford to call a plumber even if they called a hundred people.

After almost an hour of cleaning the drains, Marco finally finished. His face was wet with sweat. His burly hands were also shiny with sweat. It made his good looks go up even more.

Marco had a relatively handsome face. His face was stern, like a warrior. Because of his rough work almost daily, Marco's body has become stocky, like a person who diligently does fitness.

"Finally finished, too." Marco smiled happily. He packed his equipment in a suitcase and put it in the cellar.

He climbed up and went to the kitchen, seeing Eva, who was looking at him sarcastically. However, Marco never cared. He never took what Eva did or what he did to heart. He took it all as a fart.

Eva, as brave as she was, she was just a maid. The second she made eye contact with Marco, she couldn't stand it and quickly looked away. The woman lowered her head and left.

Marco's gaze followed the direction Eva went. The maid seemed to be going to the back garden. "Why are women so strange? Except for my dear  my Stefani, they are all so strange."

Marco picked up a glass and filled it with tap water. In this place, the water that flowed from the tap was filtered with advanced technology so that it was suitable for immediate drinking. He quickly filled the glass almost to the brim.

"Lazy son-in-law, how dare you drink before finishing the job!" The glass was already in Marco's mouth. However, before Marco could drink it, the glass was grabbed by someone other than Melani, his mother-in-law. The mother-in-law who always bothered him.

"I was just finishing the drain, Mom," Marco resignedly said. He had worked hard for an hour to clean the drains, and now he was very thirsty.

Melani's face soured. She poured the water in the glass into Marco's face. "I'm not talking about the drains! Are you blind? The second-floor bathroom toilet is clogged!"

Marco wiped his wet face. "I'll take care of it right away. However, let me drink first." Marco said with a pleading expression. He realized that without Melani's permission, he would not be able to drink.

Melani hated Marco. Her hatred had seeped into her bones. She had never liked Marco, not once in her life. If someone could die of hatred, then it was inevitable that Marco had killed a thousand times.

"If you're thirsty, you can drink the toilet water!" Melani spoke as if it wasn't something disgusting.

Meanwhile, Marco could only swallow his saliva. Even if he was already in a dying condition, he wouldn't do that. He would rather die of thirst.

"Why are you just staying still? Do I need to drag you upstairs and dunk your head in the toilet?" Melani said cruelly.

Stefani and Marco got married on a solid foundation of love. They had known and loved each other since college. As soon as they graduated, they got married.

Marco did work. However, his work was never appreciated by the Reyes family, especially Melani. It was not without reason, but because Marco's career was also underdeveloped, even though he had an intelligent brain.

"I'll take care of it right away." Marco forgot his thirst. Melani's piercing gaze seemed to kill him. He grabbed the tools in the storeroom and went to the second-floor bathroom.

Feeling incredibly thirsty, he drank from the second-floor bathroom sink faucet. His wet throat satisfied him. He washed his face with cold water to focus. 

When Marco opened his eyes, he saw something in the corner of the sink. He frowned when he saw this thing. It was unfamiliar, but it was also familiar.

Marco carefully picked up the object. Marco's hand shook when he saw what he was holding. It was a setback. Not only that, it was a test with two red lines.

Marco's face turned red. His heart beat faster. He wondered who had used that thing.

"How strange," Marco muttered. He felt perplexed because the last time he had sex with Stefani was a year ago. "It can't be mom's either. She's too old to have another child."

His mind was working hard again. "Could it be Eva's? But with whom? She hardly ever leaves the house."

 

Marco shook his head. He quickly dispelled the negative thoughts that had filled his head. It seemed he had thought too far ahead.

He looked at the toilet that was already filled with water. He just remembered the task given by Melani. He sighed heavily. He was about to put the testpack in her pants pocket.

The bathroom door, which had been closed, suddenly opened quickly. The person who opened the door must have been in a hurry.

Marco watched her. From behind the door, a young woman wearing hot pants and a dark blue crop dress emerged.

Her beautiful face showed an expression of great panic. Especially after seeing Marco holding a test pack with a confused look. Stefani became even more panicked. Her face was pale, and her hands were also shaking slightly. With panic rising, she snatched the Testpack from Marco's hand.

At first, Marco didn't want to suspect Stefani. However, seeing what Stefani did, his blood boiled.

"Whose is it?"
