Nothing about this place felt casual. Every inch screamed prestige, wealth, and quiet pressure.

He wasn’t nervous.

But he wasn’t calm, either.

For the past two days, he had trained relentlessly at the Suarez estate—throwing punches, dodging blows, simulating combat over and over again with Rick and Cedrick. He barely slept. Barely ate.

"Are we really doing this?" James asked hesitantly. The masked men had just left, dragging Jasmine with them.He and Gracia remained hidden in the shadows near the side of the venue, merely watching."What if they killed her?" James added, tension thick in his voice.Gracia rolled her eyes with a scoff. "And so what? Stop worrying about her!""Mom! She’s still my sister!" James snapped. "And you saw how much Dad cares for her!"Gracia turned toward him, utterly appalled, her voice sharp and accusing. "What is wrong with you, James? Isn’t this exactly what you wanted? For them to disappear? Have you forgotten that those two are trying to steal everything from you? Your position, your name, your future! And now you're hesitating?"James opened his mouth but faltered, staring at the spot where Jasmine had been dragged out moments ago.He could still hear her scream his brother’s name."Joaquin!"That scream kept echoing in his ears."They’re still my siblings, Mom," he said more quietly

  • Chapter 252: The Disruption

Joaquin could only shake his head in disbelief as he walked back toward the venue.James still hadn’t given up.It amazed him how someone could cling so tightly to a crown he hadn't even taken away. Joaquin never came for the Villareal wealth or the position tied to their name.He was here for his mission—For the people he loved and protected. For Serena. So whatever it was that James feared, Joaquin didn’t care. But… if it ever came down to it—If taking that position was the only way to finish what he had started—He wouldn’t hesitate to take it all.He was just about to step through the doors when chaos erupted inside.A woman’s scream cut through the air—“Who are you?! "You should stay at the mansion now, Joaquin. You too, Jasmine," Javier offered, his tone casual but hopeful. The two siblings exchanged a brief glance. The party was still in full swing, though the wave of attention that had swarmed them earlier had finally begun to fade. The constant introductions, questions, and handshakes had slowed down, at least for now. They sat quietly at their table, speaking in hushed tones away from the crowd.“I appreciate the offer, Mr. Villareal,” Joaquin said, keeping his voice measured. “But we already have our own place. A home.”Javier chuckled lightly, though there was a hint of disappointment in his smile. “I know it’s still hard for you. But you can start calling me ‘father,’ Joaquin.&r

The night hadn’t even reached its peak, yet Joaquin already felt drained. He’d endured far more brutal training sessions in the past—nights of bruises and fire coursing through his veins—but somehow, he’d much rather return to that than survive another hour in this suffocating gathering. All around him were people eager to shake his hand, flatter him, and question him. Every conversation felt like a transaction in disguise, and every smile was paired with the same curiosity masked as politeness:What happened to you?Why were you only introduced now?Where have you been all this time? And Joaquin’s answer never changed.

Joaquin adjusted the collar of his charcoal gray polo as he stepped out of the car. His eyes lingered on the grand entrance of the five-star hotel that loomed before him, its golden light spilling out onto the marble steps like an invitation—and a warning. The very air around it seemed to buzz with expectation. He could already hear the muffled hum of the event inside: clinking glasses, classical music, laughter too polished to be sincere.Jasmine smoothed out the pleats of her emerald green dress and stood beside him. “Are you ready?” she asked, her voice low but firm. “We can never go back after this, Joaquin. The moment we enter that place, everything changes.”Joaquin’s face hardened. “I know.”Tonight wasn’t just

“I can’t believe this! What the hell are you doing, James?” Gracia snapped at her son, pacing back and forth in the living room. She puffed aggressively on her cigarette, frustration written all over her face. “Your father already met him!”“What?” James asked in disbelief, rising from his seat. “Are you sure?”Gracia stopped and glared at him. “I am—because I was there! I saw them with my own eyes!”She threw herself onto the sofa, crushing the cigarette into the ashtray until it nearly disintegrated.“How long are you going to keep chasing Serena like some loyal dog, huh? You're forgetting what’s more im
