“You know it’s time, Joaquin.”

Joaquin exhaled deeply as he heard the voice of Miguel Suarez. After leaving the hospital, Rick had picked him up, saying Miguel had called for him.

“I know what you’re going through right now. But you can’t neglect your training,” Miguel said. “Master Aiden is waiting. We need to start the search for the Serpent.”

Joaquin let out a long breath, torn between his duty and his love.

“I understand,” he said. “But I can’t just leave Serena like this.”

Rick placed the iPad he was holding onto the table.

“I think you’ll want to see this,” he said. “We’ve been digging into the information George Beckham left behind. We found out he’d been meeting with someone connected to the Villareals.”

Joaquin stiffened.

He took the iPad and scanned through the information.

He still hadn’t told them the truth about who he really was.

They had no idea about his connection to the Villareal family.

  • Chapter 231: Confrontation

“How did you do that?” James asked, disbelief etched across his face. He stepped closer to Serena’s bed, as if seeing her awake would make it real. “Dr. Alvarez, check her vitals.”Andrew immediately approached, pulling his stethoscope from around his neck and examining the monitors. “She’s fine,” he said, still sounding stunned. “Everything’s normal now.” He turned to Joaquin. “What kind of medicine was that?”“That’s not medicine,” James interjected sharply. “That’s a drug, isn’t it?” He looked at Emilio and Clarissa, voice rising. “We need to run further tests on Serena immediately.”Serena blinked at the chaos, confused and groggy. “Wait… what’s going on?” she asked, trying to sit up. “Why is everyone here?”Joaquin took a step toward her, wanting to be the first to reassure her—but James blocked his path with a raised hand. “Don’t you dare get near her.”Emilio moved to Serena’s side and gently took her hand. “Are you really okay now, anak?” he asked, his voice trembling.

  • Chapter 230: Saved

“Wait for me, Serena.”Joaquin gripped the vial tightly—the essence of the Noctis Bloom. He didn’t waste another second. With urgency in every step, he sprinted out of the Forbidden Grove and drove straight to the hospital. The moment he arrived, he headed directly to Serena’s room.“Joaquin?! Where the hell have you been?!” Emilio barked the moment Joaquin entered. “You said you’d save my daughter!”Joaquin took a deep breath, his chest still heaving from the long journey. His eyes immediately searched for Serena—still unconscious, still pale on the hospital bed.James was seated on the couch nearby, arms crossed and eyes cold. Andrew and Mikyla stood close to Serena, worry painted on their faces.“I’m sorry, Sir,” Joaquin said. “I had to retrieve a medicine for her—something that can help her now.”Emilio narrowed his eyes, glancing at the small glowing vial in Joaquin’s hand. “What is that?”Before Joaquin could answer, James shot to his feet, his voice sharp with accusation.“What

  • Chapter 229: The Forbidden Groove

Joaquin stood at the edge of the massive forest, eyes fixed on the looming trees ahead.Just the sight of it sent an eerie sensation crawling down his spine—it had a presence. Heavy. Unnatural.Mist slithered across the forest floor like snakes in search of prey. The trees were impossibly tall, their bark a deep, lifeless gray. Their leaves didn’t even flutter despite the breeze. The stories were true—this place felt alive. He tightened his grip on his bag and stepped forward without hesitation.Inside, darkness swallowed him whole.Even though it was midday when he arrived at the Forbidden Grove, it felt as if the moment he entered, daylight was stripped away, replaced by a suffocating night. He pulled out his flashlight, its beam the only comfort in the growing blackness. No one had entered this forest in centuries. Not even the villagers who once worshipped the land dared to approach it anymore.Legends said the Grove was cursed—guarded by illusions, by spirits of the old blood, by

Joaquin’s shoulders sagged heavily as he walked into the house.Every step felt heavier than the last.He didn’t want to leave Serena’s side—not when her life was still hanging by a thread. But he knew he had no choice. He needed rest if he was going to save her.He needed strength. And most of all, he needed answers.Because he knew deep in his bones that the cure for Serena’s condition wouldn’t be found in any hospital. Not in any book. Not in any medicine known to man. This—whatever had poisoned Serena—was something far more ancient. As soon as he entered his room, he didn’t waste a second. He locked the door and bolted the windows, making sure no one could disturb him.The familiar smell of home barely registered in his nose. All he could think about was her.Her pale face. Her weakening heartbeat. Her soft voice called his name before she slipped into unconsciousness. He pushed the memory away and dropped to the floor, sitting cross-legged right in the center of the room. The air
