Waves of excitement wove into Jackson's throat. Dark, Vicious, and dripping with ice.

This was the moment that Mazzle was going to disgrace himself. And for mothers who would do anything for their child, Kira would act likewise.

"Ding!" A ring came from the door.

"Who ordered Pizza?"

"I never thought that you would be so thoughtful to order something for our guest!" Praised James, patting his daughter's back.

"Or maybe it's a bigger package. In the size of a seven-year-old boy! Just like our honoured husband had proposed." Jackson's voice dripped with so much sarcasm.

Kira opened the door. Her eyes swept off by the train of guards that dropped someone off and immediately, they were soon leaving.

But something else caught her attention.

A little child that is familiar. Her son. She shuddered as they were engulfed in a warm embrace.

The ravaging heat of confusion and shocks boiled through Jackson's skin, making him barely able to breathe.

"Mom you're okay!" Tears escaped fro

They walked quietly through the dark, using just the blue glow from their gear and what was left of Elina's scanner. The ground ahead looked all torn up and empty, like nobody had cared about it for years. "This place gives me the creeps," Kira said, watching where she stepped around loose rocks. "Something really bad went down here." "Yeah, it's totally dead," Elina said, looking at her readings. "Freeman used it for testing stuff way back, but they never put it on any maps or anything." Eren was walking in front of them, moving like he knew exactly where he was going even though he'd never been here before. Ever since they left the Root place, he'd been acting different—not bad different, just like he was listening to something the rest of them couldn't hear. "How do you even know which way to go?" Kira asked, jogging to catch up with him. "I honestly don't know," Eren said. "It's like someone stuck a GPS in my brain, but instead of directions, it's just feelings about which w

The world outside the Root felt weird now. Not colder, but something else had changed. The quiet that followed them felt thicker, heavier, like hidden eyes were watching them. As Eren, Kira, and Elina walked down the hill toward the old train valley past the basin, Kira saw something odd."The dust isn't staying behind us," she said, looking back at where they'd walked.Elina looked over her shoulder. "You're right. It's like the ground is... cleaning itself up."The land seemed to be moving quietly, changing how it looked and wiping away any signs they'd been there. Whether it was some kind of guard system from the Root or something deeper under the ground, they didn't stop to check.Eren walked ahead of them, quiet and thinking. Since joining with the memory core, he hadn't talked much. But he didn't seem crazy or mixed up either. He moved smooth and sure."You doing okay up there?" Kira called to him."I'm fine," he said back without turning around. "Just thinking through stuff."T

The room stayed quiet. Only the small brain case on the platform moved, giving off a soft pulsing light. The light wasn't very bright, but something about how it beat felt wrong."Wait," Kira said, watching the pulse more closely. "I know this pattern.""From where?" Elina asked, checking her tools."It's the same as Eren's heartbeat signals," Kira said, worry in her voice. "The exact same beat he's had since Vault 6, since he first plugged into those old systems."They all understood slowly. The mind trapped in the box wasn't just made to work with Eren—it was tied to him, matched to his brain waves like someone had planned it all along."Someone set this up," Eren said quietly, though he didn't sound shocked. "Everything we've done, every place we've been—it was all to get us here.""But who planned it?" Kira asked.Eren didn't answer right away. He just stood there, staring at the box like he was waiting for something.Behind him, Elina worked fast on the tall computer. The words w

The Root Interface started changing around Eren in ways that went way beyond just looking different. The patterns it showed shifted, data streams opened like doors, and tons of information settled into his head way easier than expected."You still okay in there?" Kira asked, watching him through the containment field."Yeah, I'm here," he said back, though his voice sounded weird now. "But I'm also... I don't know, more plugged in somehow."The room started moving with his thoughts, soaking up his presence and giving him access to stuff that had been turned off for decades. From where she stood behind the energy wall, Kira could see that Eren looked calm and put-together, but the lights around him moved like spinning planets, showing information only he could read."What are you looking at?" she pushed."Everything," he said simply. "Every test that went wrong, every buried memory, every person Freeman thought they got rid of."Elina worked like crazy to record whatever her machines c

The chamber fell completely still, the biological voice fading into silence like a memory dissolving from a dream. Kira and Elina stayed frozen at the edge of the raised platform, watching as Eren stood motionless before the throne-like chair."What are you thinking?" Kira asked softly, though she wasn't sure if he could hear her anymore."I don't know," he replied quietly. "Everything feels... different here."The air around them had grown thick with more than just heat or dust—there was a weight that pressed directly on their minds, making every thought feel slower and more careful. Time itself seemed to move differently in this place."Look at the walls," Elina whispered, pointing to the faint pulses of light that had stopped their rhythmic pattern. "The entire building is waiting for his decision.""Waiting for me to do what?" Eren asked."I think you know," Kira said quietly.Eren didn't respond to their words right away. Instead, he began walking slowly around the platform, look

The landscape beyond Zone Null changed as they walked, snow slowly giving way to gravel and sun-baked dirt. It was like they had crossed an invisible line, leaving behind natural weather patterns and entering something artificially controlled."The ground feels different here," Kira said, testing the hardened earth beneath her boots. "Drier, more packed down.""Like it's been shaped," Eren added, studying the terrain ahead. "The paths seem made to push travelers in specific directions.""Push them where?" Elina asked, checking her equipment."That's what worries me," he replied.Elina looked at the updated map based on the projection they'd seen in the underground building. The node marked "Echo Root" lay deeper south, in territory that Freeman's official records listed as unlivable due to ancient ground shifts."But look around," she said, pointing at the stable landscape. "No craters, no visible damage. If anything, this place feels preserved.""On purpose isolated," Kira agreed. "L
