The tendril pierced the air like a living lance, crackling with black-and-white energy. Eddy’s body tensed as the Forge Heart screamed in response, white flame flaring uncontrollably, shadows bending and writhing around him.

“…the other half…” the whisper hissed inside his mind, cold and intimate. “…finally… we meet.”

Eddy’s eyes locked on the spinning ring at the tip of the tendril. Something about it was familiar. Her mark, he realized. His mother’s legacy. His inheritance. The missing piece of himself.

The servant’s voice echoed from behind him, frantic: “Master Eddy! Step back! Don’t touch it!”

But Eddy didn’t move. His instincts screamed differently now. Every fiber of his being, the Forge Heart, the shadows, the corrupted Eerie energy inside him, was drawn to it.

“…you were meant to be complete…” the voice inside him continued, eerily calm. “…but you are only half… until now.”

Eddy’s grip tightened on the ring embedded in his chest. His mind raced, fusing instinct with analysis, trying to reconcile the terror and the power he felt coursing through him.

“System,” he whispered, voice strained, “prepare full fusion. All power, all matter around me, merge with me. I’ll finish this.”

Pain ripped through him like knives. His veins ignited, white flame and black corruption coiling together, writhing inside him. He could feel the other half of a consciousness buried in his bloodline, whispering, coaxing, teasing him. “You’re… not ready…” it said, soft but menacing. “…you can’t hold me…”

“I will!” Eddy shouted, teeth gritted. He slammed the ring against his chest.

The abyss shuddered. The mine itself groaned as the shadows recoiled, unwilling to fully merge with this new power. Stone cracked, molten magma surged, and the white flame lanced outward, carving through the darkness like a blade.

The tendril lunged again, faster than before, but Eddy’s body, now fused with part of the abyss itself, twisted in a blur. His arm stretched unnaturally, grabbing the ring before it could strike.

As his fingers closed around it, a shockwave tore through him. Pain exploded. Memories, not his own, flooded his mind: A forge burning in endless night.

A mother, strong, stern, her hands glowing with pure flame, A father absent, indifferent, his presence cold and empty. Shadows bowing to an ancestral power older than the world itself.

The Forge Heart flared violently. Eddy staggered, and then he felt it. The other half within the ring. It pulsed like a heartbeat inside him, calling to him, demanding recognition.

“…join me…” the ancestral presence whispered. “…we can be complete…”

Eddy’s vision went white. He fell to his knees, the weight of the abyss, the shadows, and the ancestral presence pressing down. Every fiber of his body screamed that merging fully could destroy him or transform him into something… unimaginable.

“…I don’t… I won’t…” Eddy muttered. His hands glowed as he channeled both the Forge Heart and his own corrupted fusion into a single, searing pulse.

Ancestral Fusion Attempt: PARTIAL

Result: Unstable

Corruption Level: 61%

Warning: Host may lose control

The shadows around him reacted violently, as though aware that a forbidden power was awakening. The abyss itself twisted, stone and magma folding into impossible shapes. The servant screamed:

“Master Eddy! You can’t survive this! Pull back!”

But Eddy ignored him. The other half inside the ring, a consciousness older, stronger, and infinitely patient, was merging, whispering, forcing its presence into every inch of him.

“…you are mine…” it hissed. “…embrace me… or perish…”

Eddy’s chest flared, white flame bursting outward, consuming the abyss and binding the shadows to his will.

His vision blurred as he fused with every pillar, every stalactite, every molten vein in the mine. He became the mine itself a vessel of flame, shadow, and ancestral force.

The other half screamed internally. “…resist… I will not be denied…”

And then, the unthinkable happened: The shadows recoiled. The abyss buckled. The ring shattered in his hand.

Eddy fell backward, gasping, body trembling. And through the chaos, a single thought cut through: “…I didn’t just merge… I absorbed it…”

The servant crawled toward him, eyes wide. “Master… what… what happened?”

Eddy didn’t answer. His eyes, one glowing white, one deep black, were fixed on the fissure in the abyss. There, something massive stirred. Not shadow. Not flame. Something alive, ancient, and unmistakably… sentient.

“…so it begins,” the voice of the ancestral presence whispered, now a part of him. “…the true trial… the world beyond your mother’s forge… waits…”

And from the depths, a figure emerged. Taller than any man, wreathed in black flame and shadow, with eyes that knew him intimately. Eddy’s heart froze. “…father…” he whispered.

The figure tilted its head, smiling. But the smile wasn’t warmth. It was a promise… and threat. “…so… You finally awaken…”

The abyss trembled. The Forge Heart pulsed violently. And Eddy realized with a cold certainty: He was no longer fighting alone. But he also wasn’t in control.
