“She’s still in her room, Young Master. She hasn’t come downstairs since she got home,” the maid reported softly.

Jackson’s brows furrowed at once.

“She didn’t eat lunch after coming home from campus?!”

“N–no, Young Master.”

“Then why didn’t anyone call her or take her food upstairs?!” Jackson snapped, frustration clear in his tone.

“M–Madam Kana already asked her earlier, Young Miss said she wasn’t hungry. Juice and snacks were brought upstairs, but she refused them too. She said she’d come down later herself,” Aunt Kana stammered nervously, afraid she had done something wrong that might anger her master.

Hearing that, Jackson exhaled deeply, trying to calm himself. His anger was not from irritation but worry—he couldn’t help feeling anxious about his little girl’s condition.

“Prepare dinner in thirty minutes,” he ordered.

“Yes, Young Master.”

Jackson turned around and walked away—upstairs, straight to Jennyfer’s room.

He stopped in front of the door and sighed quietly. For some reas

“Please don’t do this, Mister Bram.”After watching Jackson’s car drive away, Jennyfer immediately brushed off Bramasta’s arm that had once again wrapped around her shoulder. Earlier, he had also done that, but because Jennyfer saw Jackson’s car entering the area, she let Bramasta do it—hoping it would make Jackson angry and maybe he would lash out at Bramasta for daring to touch her. But none of that happened. Jackson simply let her go with that man, even though Jennyfer had clearly seen the fiery rage burning in his eyes.Jennyfer decided to wait until later, when Jackson would surely scold her, maybe even kick her out if he truly didn’t care about her. Yes, right now Jennyfer was being reckless—she wanted to know exactly where she stood in Jackson’s heart, so she could finally learn whether or not he would help her free her sister, Brielle, from prison. She had thought through this risky move carefully. Jennyfer didn’t want to keep loving someone who would never love her back.Jenn

  • Chapter 129. Not on the Same Path

Jackson fell silent at her sarcastic tone. He knew she was still angry—angry because he had refused to help lighten, let alone end, Brielle’s imprisonment.“Oh. I’ll go to my room then,” he said quietly.“Go ahead, no one’s stopping you.”Without another word, Jackson walked toward his bedroom door and disappeared inside. He let out a rough sigh. He couldn’t possibly get angry at her—not when the woman he loved was venting her hurt this way. Leaning his broad back against the wall, Jackson closed his eyes for a moment, trying to calm himself. His mind kept racing, but he had already decided: he would wait. He would give her space to finish her anger before trying to talk things out with her face-to-face.Meanwhile, Jennyfer froze. She quietly closed her book after seeing Jackson leave without saying another word. Disappointment flashed across her face. Frowning, she stood up from the sofa and walked straight into her room.“I waited for him so long, even until I got sleepy. But all he

  • Chapter 128. The Secret Place

After arriving in front of his luxurious mansion, Jackson remained silent and motionless as his eyes caught Jennyfer quickly grabbing the car door handle and stepping out.Without a single word, she walked straight inside, leaving Jackson frozen, watching the back of the woman he loved so deeply—who was still angry with him until now.Jackson slowly reversed his car, but instead of driving toward the guard post at the main gate, he turned deeper into the vast estate, heading toward the orchard area. He kept driving until he reached the very end of the road, where it stopped in front of a gated property that resembled a grand, ancient palace. He stepped out and entered through the gate, glancing around before continuing his steps. The area was lined with tall glodokan trees on every side—lush and perfectly arranged. Not a single fallen leaf littered the ground. It was clear that this was a place carefully maintained. Jackson never allowed anyone to enter this area except himself and hi

  • Chapter 127. Looking for Trouble

As Jackson’s car entered the wide courtyard of Sultan University in the metropolitan city, his brows furrowed when his eyes caught sight of something ahead near the corridor.Jennyfer had just come out of her class and was waiting in front of the lobby — but she wasn’t alone. Sitting beside her on the long bench was a man. And that man was Bramasta! The moment Jennyfer saw Jackson’s car drive in, she immediately grabbed her backpack from her lap.“My brother’s here. I’ll get going now, Mister Bram.”Jennyfer excused herself politely. For some reason, Bramasta — who was one of the lecturers at the university — always seemed to find excuses to be around her. Even after class ended, he would often walk beside her and chat as though they were close friends.“Oh, really? That’s his car, isn’t it? Let me help you carry your bag.”Bramasta stood up and quickly took her backpack before Jennyfer could react.“Oh! That’s not necessary, Mister. I can handle it myself. Please, give it back,” Jenn

  • Chapter 126. Too Much Longing

Aleta Windy stopped walking and burst into tears, her sobs sounding utterly heart-wrenching.“You did everything with full awareness, Aleta. If you had the intention and you went through with it, then you must accept all the consequences,” Hermanto said, forcing himself to stay firm.“Aleta promises to change, Dear. Aleta is sorry.”“It’s too late for that. And the truth is, you never really loved Tasya, did you? You neglected her to the point that she can’t even speak until now, Aleta. Go. Take responsibility for what you’ve done. I’ll take care of the daughter you never wanted.”It hurt. And Jackson could feel that pain too, listening to the sorrowful tone in Hermanto’s voice — the voice of a man completely broken. A burning question rose in Jackson’s chest.“Dear, please… give me one more chance. I promise I’ll change,” Aleta Windy sobbed, her voice trembling.“Not for a traitor like you, Aleta.”“Take that woman away!”At Jackson’s command, Aleta Windy was immediately dragged out

  • Chapter 125. What Kind of Mother?!

This was exactly why Jackson hadn’t ordered Aleta Windy and her online gambler lover to be taken directly to the police station for interrogation. There was only one reason — he didn’t want the little girl to suffer because of her mother’s vile and sinful actions.“Seize all the assets under Aleta Windy and this man’s names!” Jackson ordered coldly. “Handle the gambling case according to the law. As for the embezzlement from my company, I’ll leave that decision to Hermanto. If you want your wife to be punished legally, so be it. But if you choose to forgive her and take her back, I won’t pursue this matter any further.”Silence fell over the room.Everyone swallowed hard — even Albert and Bernard exchanged uneasy glances. They couldn’t believe they were hearing such a statement from their usually strict and merciless president. The police officers in the room said nothing either. And then—Bang!A sudden commotion startled everyone, including Jackson himself. It turned out Indra, who
