Chapter 08

*****

“What nonsense are you brat talking, I dare you to repeat what you just said again!”

Sally suddenly glared ferociously at her daughter, as if she would shoot out laser beams from her eyes and evaporate her to nothingness if she dares repeat what she just said.

But unfortunately for her and the entire Johnson family, Fiona has already lost it completely right now to care about anything.

“No!!!”

She stood her ground without being moved at all and suddenly spat.

“I will never agree to this! I’m a married woman!”

Not flinching nor looking scared, she added.

“How could I suddenly be told to marry another man?”

Hearing this, the old Matriarch began to tremble all over again.

She couldn’t believe what she was hearing.

Ever since she knew Fiona. Apart from always acting cold, she had never been disrespectful to her or her seniors even when cursed to damnation.

This is the first time.

‘This stupid brat. How could she act like this at this critical moment?’

The Old Matriarch's eyes started turning red with furiousness, and if not because of Alan Bottoms that is present, she would have ordered people to help her beat Fiona to death right now.

Whilst still trembling and breathing heavily, the old Matriarch suddenly pointed at Fiona frantically before spatting.

“You Big Fool, I Hereby Ordered As The Matriarch Of This Family And Your Grandmother That First Thing Tomorrow Morning, You, Fiona Johnson Would Go File For A Divorce With That Fool And Marry This Wonderful Young Man Here!”

Her eyes filled with bored heavily into Fiona.

Seeing this and hearing her grandmother's order, Fiona's eyes suddenly became laced with pain and disappointment, but she remained adamant.

“No Grandmother. It was Grandpa that ordered me to marry him before he died, so I’m sorry, I would have to go against your order!”

Hearing how that sounded like disrespectful curses to her ears, the anger within the old Matriarch instantly reached its peak, and her heart began to pump blood hysterically.

Just as she was about to start cursing, she felt a touch on her.

The Old Matriarch became annoyed and turned towards the person who had touched her.

However, upon recognizing the individual as someone she could not afford to offend, her irritable and fierce expression faded away, and was replaced by a submissive and respectful countenance.

Seeing this, Alan Bottoms abruptly became completely certain in his mind.

‘With this attitude, I can now be certain that you would be able to help me get my girl forcefully, but there wouldn’t be any joy in that though.’

Smiling slightly, Alan Bottoms who had reached the Old Matriarch's side unknowingly suddenly muttered something Into her ear, calming the Old Matriarch down greatly.

She heaved a sigh of relief.

‘As expected of a great young master, he wasn’t like ordinary people at all.’

She suddenly sighed secretly before watching as Alan Bottoms shifted back and smiled brightly before speaking.

“Madamé Johnson, I need to be on my way now, I still have an important meeting to attend.”

The old Matriarch immediately became disappointed at this, but she doesn’t want to look greedy at all, so she thanked Alan Bottoms, directly changing his treatment, and dealing with him like an important member of her family.

After she was done, bright light abruptly flashed in her eyes before she directly turned to glance at Fiona.

“Please, could you see off young master Bottoms?”

Hearing this, Fiona instantly thought of declining, but on another thought, she nodded her head and did as implored.

….

Not knowing that something major which greatly concerned him had happened after he left the Johnson Family Estate, Rex Magnus could presently be seen in a little room inside a coffee shop, and currently, before him sat an incredibly beautiful lady with pearly skin.

This lady is so beautiful that it would be extremely difficult to judge who is prettier between her and Fiona.

But unlike Fiona with a cold countenance, this particular lady is very warm outside and always has a never-changing smile that could destroy a nation on her face.

“Master, this is so unlike you, why do you want to know the value of this medicine?”

A melodious voice that sounded like that of an angel abruptly came out of the beauty's mouth.

Hearing her question, Rex Magnus doesn’t want to tell her the reason, so he only kept quiet and played with the Garlic-like medicine in his hand.

Seeing this, May, one of Rex Magnus' trusted aides and the only person who knew he was still alive abruptly sighed gently.

Having known her master for a long time, she realized what his silence means.

“Actually, money alone couldn’t buy this medicine. I had to exchange something worth 300 billion dollars for it.”

James immediately raised his head with a start when he heard this, and his mouth directly twitched greatly.

“What if I tell you that someone called it a leftover garlic clove?”

“Huh!!”

May's eyes widen at this.

It was as if she just heard the greatest joke of her life.

“That person must be the greatest fool of all time if he or she dares to call this medicine that could treat all sorts of sickness and diseases known and unknown to mortals a leftover garlic.” She suddenly chuckled greatly like a little fairy.

“Master, who is that person? Let me go teach them a lesson on your behalf!”

Rex Magnus only smiled at this, thinking of his mother-in-law.

He suddenly took in a deep breath and the expression on his face cooled greatly.

“How is my mother?”

May's face also abruptly changed when she heard this question.

Seeing this, Rex Magnus' heart pounded greatly.

He became scared.

“Did… did something happen to mother?”

May instantly shake her head.

“No master, but… master's mother, she still isn’t been able to forget master after all these years, and she’s still greatly affected by this.”

Rex Magnus instantly shut his eyes tightly after hearing this, looking extremely pained.

When he finally opened them, they were already completely red.

“I can't let her know I’m alive yet due to all those who still want me dead.”

Having already expected Rex Magnus to say this, May sighed quite emotionally.

Although she knew it was a hard decision for her master, even she would have objected if he had decided he wished to inform his mother that he was still alive.

“Let's discuss something else.” Rex Magnus suddenly uttered seriously, the expression on his face right now completely opposite that of what everybody in the Johnson family and Chase city knew him with.

“Yes, master.”

“How are the investigations you’re carrying out?”

May's face immediately changed yet again.

“Master… too… too many people that couldn’t be counted who were involved in what happened three years ago.”

Rex Magnus instantly released a cold killing intent which instantly scared May to death.

“Of cause, I know that,” he took in a deep breath. “And my promise remains strong, I would butcher every one of them.” he coldly reminded himself of his vow, resembling a death God.
