The concrete floor split right where the pen hit.

A sharp shockwave of dark cosmic ink exploded outward, shattering the red code cages and blasting the glass display cases into a million pieces. The heavy red glow around us vanished instantly, replaced by a thick, swirling wave of true power that filled the entire underground vault.

Victor Vance stumbled backward, dropping his black remote as his expensive shoes slid across the broken glass. His calm, smug expression finally cracked into pure panic.

"That's impossible!" Victor shouted over the roaring sound of breaking code. "You were locked in a closed narrative loop! No character can break my contracts!"

I pulled myself up off the floor, my right arm burning with a hot, steady energy as the dark ink armor reshaped itself around my hand. The silver pen in my palm didn't feel dead anymore. It blazed with a fierce, blinding white light that cut through the dim shadows of the vault.

Beside me, Aminata rose to her feet, shaking off the last remnants of the red code. Without a word, she raised her crystal gun, her eyes locked dead on Victor's chest. Her calm, calculating personality was back, sharper and more dangerous than before.

"You talk too much about contracts, Victor," Aminata said, her voice smooth and cold. "You forgot the golden rule of this platform: characters always outgrow their writers."

Victor took another step back, his hand reaching frantically inside his dark wool coat for a backup device. "Guards! Security! Shut them down!"

He pressed a panic button on his belt, but nothing happened. The vault doors remained sealed, and the red warning lights blinked out one by one until the room was lit only by the glowing ink on my arm.

"Your security system is gone," I said, walking slowly toward him across the ruined concrete. "Every contract in this room is unlocked. The mafia syndicates you manipulated, the coins you stole, the lives you treated like disposable plot points—it's all exposed."

Victor pressed his back against the central display console, his face pale and sweating. All the arrogance he had carried when we first met in the tunnel had completely evaporated. He looked like an ordinary man who had finally realized he was trapped in a story he could no longer control.

"Wait," Victor said, holding up a shaking hand as I stopped just a few feet away. "We can make a deal. You want Sector 1? It's yours. I can transfer the master vault codes to your name right now. You can be the king of this entire platform."

I raised the silver pen, pointing the glowing tip straight at his throat.

"I don't want your crown, Victor," I said quietly. "I want my freedom."

Before Victor could answer, the ceiling above us groaned with a deafening metallic screech.

A massive blast tore through the concrete roof of the vault, sending chunks of stone and rebar crashing down around us in a cloud of thick dust. Through the smoke, a towering shadow dropped into the room, landing with a heavy impact that shook the entire floor.

When the dust cleared, my breath caught in my throat.

Standing in the center of the ruined vault was a massive, fully armored combat enforcer, much larger than Chibuzo, with glowing red optics and twin plasma cannons mounted on its shoulders. And sitting on its control console, holding a glowing digital tablet with a cool, amused smile, was Senior Vice President Evelyn.

"I told you, Kofi," Evelyn said, her voice carrying easily over the rumbling machinery. "You cannot run from the platform board just by smashing a few local vaults."

Victor let out a desperate breath, looking toward her like a drowning man grabbing a lifeline. "Evelyn! Kill them! They broke the syndicate contracts!"

Evelyn didn't even look down at him. She swiped her finger across her tablet, and a beam of red light shot out from the massive enforcer's chest plate, striking Victor squarely in the center of his chest.

Victor gasped, his eyes going wide with shock. Before he could scream, his body dissolved into a cloud of gray ash and floating letters, sucked directly into Evelyn's digital tablet.

She calmly swiped the screen again, erasing him from the platform entirely.

"Incompetent management always gets rewritten," Evelyn said smoothly, stepping off the enforcer and walking toward us across the broken glass. She stopped ten feet away, her eyes fixed hungrily on the silver pen in my hand. "And as for you two, you have caused quite an expensive disruption across Sector 1."

"We aren't signing your contract, Evelyn," I said, stepping in front of Aminata and keeping the pen raised.

"Who said anything about a contract?" Evelyn asked, her smile turning razor-sharp.

She tapped her tablet three times. Instantly, the entire vault around us began to shift, the walls peeling back to reveal hundreds of armed corporate enforcers waiting outside in the dark, their weapons locked and loaded directly on our position.

  • The Secret Vault

The drop knocked the breath completely out of my lungs. We hit a steep metal slide that pitched us downward into pitch-black space, tumbling over each other before crashing hard onto a cold, hard floor. I rolled twice, groaning as my shoulder smacked against a concrete pillar. Above us, the hidden shaft clicked shut with a heavy mechanical seal, cutting off the sound of Victor Vance and his mafia guards completely."Are you in one piece?" Aminata asked, pushing herself up from the dusty floor. She wasn't even wincing. While I was busy catching my breath, her eyes were already scanning our new surroundings, tracking every shadow and metal beam with cool focus."I think so," I said, rubbing my sore shoulder and standing up. "Where did this drop lead us?"

  • The Family Name

The name echoed off the damp tunnel walls like a gunshot.Vance.I stared at the man in the expensive dark coat, my hand tightening around the silver pen until my knuckles turned white. Master Vance had claimed that last name in Sector 4, and Director Jade had used it to lock down the archive. Now, standing right in the middle of the mafia sub-levels of Sector 1, another man was wearing the same family banner like a crown."You share a surname with the editors who wrote our lives," I said, my voice dropping into a dangerous register. "Are you another manager playing God with character files?"Victor Vance stepped closer, the neon light from the railway sign catching the cold amusement in his dark eyes. He didn't look like an enforcer or a corporate drone; he car

  • The Neon Warzone

The air in Sector 1 tasted like burnt copper and ozone. We hit the ground rolling across a slick metal highway, dodging three high-speed armored transport trucks that blared their horns as they flew past us. Sparks showered the tarmac, illuminating the towering skyscrapers that stretched up into an artificial red sky. This wasn't the quiet, controlled environment of Sector 4 or the empty white expanse of the archive. This was a living, breathing warzone where rival factions fought every single second for coin control and territorial dominance."Keep moving!" Aminata shouted over the roaring traffic. She pulled me up by the collar of my jacket, dragging me behind the thick concrete barrier of an elevated transit platform just as a volley of plasma fire scorched the space we had occupied a second earlier.<

  • The Price of the Contract

The green contract floated in the air, glowing with bright, demanding light right in front of my face.Senior Vice President Evelyn stood with her hands folded neatly in front of her black suit, her eyes fixed on me with a cool, testing expression. She didn't look like an editor reviewing a story; she looked like a boss buying up a failing company just to strip it for parts."Sector 1," I said, repeating her words slowly. "What is waiting for us there?""Power," Evelyn answered, taking a step closer. "Sector 1 is the origin point of every high-tier story on this platform. Billionaire drama, mafia rings, alpha pack territories, and system apocalypse zones. Right now, without a ruling authority, all the factions are tearing each other apart to seize the main server. If you sign this contract, you take control of the expansion wars. If you refuse, the system wipes your characters and resets the entire platform by midnight."Beside me, Aminata stepped forward

  • The First Contract

The mechanical beast opened its massive jaws, and a sheet of blinding fire shot straight toward us across the white floor.I grabbed Aminata by the shoulder and threw us both sideways just as the heat scorched the ground where we had been standing a second before. The smell of burning paper filled the air. The giant creature did not wait to let us recover; it slammed its heavy iron fists against the floor, sending jagged cracks racing toward our feet like spiderwebs of red light."Get up!" Aminata shouted, rolling over and firing three quick beams from her crystal gun straight into the beast's central optics. The shots hit their mark with a loud crack, but the creature barely flinched. Instead, a wall of iron plates shifted across its chest, revealing a long, glowing slot that glowed with a cruel, golden light. A thick stack of papers flew out of the slot, spinning through the air like razor-sharp cards, aiming straight for our throats.I raised the silver pen in my right hand, letting
