It was another day at the Gordon's Clan compound, and my name is Alec, I'll give you a quick explanation: I was reincarnated after a nasty motor accident while trying to save an old lady.

The gods granted me another chance by reincarnating me into another world about 14 years ago.

Later, I discovered that I was the young master and the only remaining heir of the Gordon family, However, my bloodline actually comes from the prestigious Ancient Blaze Clan.

Despite this, the Blaze Clan, one of the top families in the capital, never acknowledged me as part of their own, From what I heard, my father never officially married my mother, He was just a young master out for training who fell for my mother's beauty, used sweet words to win her over, and ended up impregnating her before returning to his family without informing her.

When my mother discovered she was pregnant, it was too late as my father had already gone, She tried to reach out to him by sending messages to his family, but none of them ever replied.

In desperation, she traveled to the capital herself to personally deliver the message, only to be humiliated and rejected by the man she claimed to love.

Heartbroken, she returned to the Gordon family feeling dejected, Thankfully, my loving grandfather, the Patriarch of the Gordon family, took care of me after my mother died during childbirth.

Since then, I have been raised by my grandfather in a small city near the capital, Our relationship feels more like brothers than a traditional grandfather and grandson bond, I truly appreciate the immense love he shows me.

"Alec, how are you doing today?" an aged voice asked from the courtyard door. I already knew who it was, but I turned around to face him while smirking.

"You know I'm good, old man. I won't die before you, after all," I replied playfully.

"You! Forget it, you seem to be getting really cheeky these days, little boy," the old man initially retorted and pointed his finger at me.

However, he soon sighed in relief and burst into laughter, We engaged in conversation and shared stories, appearing more like brothers than a grandfather and grandchild duo.

Anyone who saw us would never guess our true relationship The love my grandfather had for me is immense, After my mother passed away, he did everything in his power to raise me right, and I am eternally grateful for his care and affection.

But I could tell by the way he grabbed my shoulders and sighed that he was about to embark on one of his important speeches again.

"You do know you're about to turn fifteen, right?" he asked, his eyes filled with seriousness.

"Yes, old man," I replied, already aware of what he was about to say, In this world, once you turn fifteen, you awaken to your magical abilities and can finally be called a mage.

"You do know what comes next, right?" he continued, looking into my eyes. I nodded in response.

"I do," I replied confidently, excited for what lay ahead.

"Hmmm, after you awaken, come meet me. I have something important to pass on to you," he said, his tone full of anticipation.

"Ohhh, what is it?" I asked eagerly, my eyes shining with curiosity.

"Now, if I told you that, it would spoil the surprise, wouldn't it?" he teased, a mischievous twinkle in his eye.

He wanted me to be even more curious and beg for the answer, and I couldn't help but give in.

"Just a hint, please?" I pleaded, my excitement growing.

"Well, let's just say it's the one thing that has enabled the Gordon family to survive during the blood moons and establish a reputation for themselves, even if it's just at the bottom," he started, his chest puffing up with pride.

The Gordon family, known for their alchemy creations and reliance on golems, were often seen as weak by other mage families.

"But I can't believe you're embarrassed about it. The golem manual is unique and has served us well, I have no doubt you can revitalize the glory days when golems were revered," I interrupted, trying to reassure him.

It was common knowledge that the Gordon family's survival during the blood moons, when demons and undead attacked settlements, was an extraordinary feat.

Despite being underestimated, the family's ability to protect themselves and survive the blood moons was a testament to their strength. The blood moons occurred once every month, during which the 72 monarchs of the purgatory sent their generals and commanders to attack the surface, unleashing hordes of demons and undead upon the world.

My grandfather chuckled, clearly relieved by my words.

"I can't believe you're feeling embarrassed about this. Is it because you think I would follow the same path as the others in our family and study a different form of magic?" I inquired.

"Ye... ye..yes... I'm pretty nervous. The golem manual is not being practiced like before, and I don't want it to disappear while I'm in possession of it. You're a smart boy, and I'm sure you can bring back the glorious days when golems were worshipped," he began his pointless boasting.

"Enough with your bragging, old man," I interrupted, pouring cold water on his ego.

"Don't worry, I'll definitely come for it. After all, it's my inheritance. If I don't claim it, I might not receive any property from you when you're gone," I teased him once again.

"You brat! You're finished! Just wait for me!" he shouted, running around the courtyard in an attempt to catch me. I smiled, knowing all of this was just a charade. He was concerned about the upcoming wave of the red moon, trying to prepare me to acquire strength so that I could survive in this merciless world."

  • First High Rank, Lord Status

Alec turned back and walked toward the two halves of the Grimfang Alpha’s corpse, he raised his bone handguard toward one of the severed halves. At the surge of his intent towards the weapon, a sharp bone spike shot out from the guard and pierced one half of the body as he activated the absorption skill, and the bone essence was being drained dry, After he had finished draining everything he needed from that part of the body, the bones turned gray and crumbled into a fine, ashen powder. When he was done, he moved to the other half and repeated the process.Still, the notification he had been waiting for did not appear before him, now that his Changdao had already advanced to a Tier 7 spirit-weapon status. It meant that he no longer needed to rely solely on the Second Seal before he could injure a Tier 8 human mage outside or most Tier 7 demonic beast in the beast forest, as his weapon alone was already capable of that. He had hoped to push the bone katana to the same level too, but i

The Shadow Wolf Alpha struggled desperately to retreat, but it was no longer in the Dark Forest, where it could freely slip in and out of space as every angle of the dark forest had a shadow. With Alec already locking it down, its usual mobility was crippled further. It forced itself to focus harder on escaping, though under normal circumstances, it would have succeeded in a few seconds, but because it had to keep channeling mana into maintaining the Shadow Veil that protected its body, the energy it needed to flee was delayed.Yet it also knew that the instant it stopped sustaining the Shadow Veil with its mana, it would die, and that was how it found itself in a deadlock that would dictate its fate.Just as it finally managed to shake off the reddish earthen restraints clamping its limbs, the Shadow Veil itself gave in under the overwhelming pressure of Alec’s thrusting. There was no explosive sound, no shattering like glass, it was more like fabric being torn apart, as the Blood C

  • Changdao Second Seal + Lesser Sagurion Form 2.

In a normal situation, the one who activates their move late is supposed to be at a disadvantage, but this time, that rule did not seem to apply to Alec. After he passed by the side of the alpha wolf, another trail of blood droplets followed behind him, hanging in the air in slow motion, a sharp contrast to the speed at which he was moving. Before entering his current state, Alec’s agility stat was already in the three hundreds, which was something that Tier 7 mages would have a hard time defending against, and now after merging with the Lesser Sangurion Soul beast of his, his speed just seems to transcend into an entirely different dimension. As for lacking the strength to match a Mid Tier 7 Alpha, that weakness no longer existed, because currently he was wielding a weapon forged from the Alpha’s own blood which means it is a strong enough weapon to inflict damage to the Alpha wolf, this was just another ability he gains due to the opening of the second seal, so as long as the Second

“Hive Queen, I hate to do this, but I need you to hold off that ugly-looking wolf for a little longer, just long enough for me to kill this other arrogant one.” Alec said, pointing directly at the Grimfang Alpha when he emphasized the word ugly. The insult instantly enraged the Grimfang Alpha, as it leaped toward Alec in the very next second, however, before it could reach him, the Hive Queen took action by flickering her left hand, like she was pulling something through the air.And in an instant, the Grimfang Alpha’s body was yanked violently away.Under the artificial sun of the Beast Forest, faint, almost transparent threads became visible around the Grimfang Alpha, as strings so perfectly blended with the environment that even Alec hadn’t noticed them before they were activated became visible to naked eyes after they swung the Grimgfang Alpha away.“No problem, Master, just don’t die before me,” the Hive Queen said calmly as she and her mutated Arachne which was the last of her s

  • Race Against Time 5.

Alec was still in the air when he saw what remained of the Hive Queen’s minions, aside from the mutated Arachne and the defensive Arachne types, the rest had ignited themselves all at once. They triggered their self-destruct skills in unison, each explosion aimed at dragging the Tier 7 opponents of theirs down with them. But even Alec knew better, that it would take far more than this to truly kill creatures of that realm, and from the start, the Hive Queen had never intended to wipe them out anyway. Her goal had always been clear: disorient the enemies long enough for her and Alec to escape the Dark Forest.“Master, we have to move now.”Her voice echoed directly in Alec’s mind while he was still in Mid-air, the explosions were still ringing violently in the air. Though Alec had already wrapped his ears in mana to dampen the shock, yet blood still trickled down from them, as the aftermath of so many Arachne detonating at once was not easily dissolved. It was only then that Alec fi

  • Race Against Time 4.

Alec could feel it, memories and blade techniques being engraved straight into his head. Greatsword. Broadsword. Every form, every grip, every rhythm, he couldn’t even name half of what he was absorbing, but he understood it all like he had been training with them for years. The evolution of the skills wasn't just about him understanding new skills now it was almost like his whole muscles were being programmed to understand and flow with the execution of those move, like each and every one of those sword and blade moves in each of those weapon form were being downloaded into his very being like that he was gaining something akin to the muscle memories of each of the weapons execution.Still, in a place like this, he couldn’t afford to get distracted—not even for a second. So he moved his right hand and this time he drew out his changdao. When he finally woke up from his daze he realized that, before him stood the five defensive Arachne, unlike their mother, they were bulkier, taller,
