Carmen shifted her gaze to the lower left, her forehead wrinkling as she tried to remember the rumors circulating in the office. Lately, something felt different-the stares that always followed her from behind, the whispers that broke off when she passed them. Like shadows lurking in silence, her colleagues always seemed to be watching her. However, every time she turned her head, they would pretend to be busy with their own work, as if they had never seen her at all.

An uncomfortable feeling spread through her. There were moments when she caught a glimpse of their eyes-not just curiosity, but more than that. Gazes that contained judgment, doubt, maybe even jealousy.

Then there were the whispers. The soft voices that crept through the air, faint but piercing. Occasionally, when she passed by, they would glance at each other, sharing a look as if confirming something only they understood. From their expressions, Carmen knew one thing, it was Carmen they were talking about.

“You've lost,” Harvey said, his voice cold as a blade of ice through bone. “Now, tell me, who's your boss?”Hudson widened his eyes. For a moment, the world around him seemed to blur. His chest rose and fell irregularly, and subconsciously, his body began to tremble subtly.“No way... am I scared?” he thought, choking up. His fingertips felt numb, as if the blood refused to flow. Everything slowed down-seconds turned into minutes-and in that void, images of the past slammed into his mind.“Teacher called me a genius. Rare. Irreplaceable. I always completed every mission perfectly. But now? Fear entangles me like invisible shackles?”Hudson's teeth chattered. His jaw tightened, his eyes widened with an almost maniacal look. His gaze pierced Harvey with a fury that was tinged with shame and helplessness.“You-”Harvey pressed Hudson's neck harder. His fingers were like steel pincers that pierced the skin and stopped the flow of breath. Hudson coughed, his face turned red, and his vision

"Hiyah!"14-year-old Hudson's scream echoed through the training room as his fist slammed into the heavy bag with surprising force. The bag shook violently, almost falling off its hook as if it couldn't withstand the explosive force of the boy's punch."Enough!"A heavy voice boomed, cutting through the air like a command from the sky. A man in a red beret strode over, his steps firm and dignified. Both hands were behind his back, like a veteran instructor. He stopped right in front of Hudson, looking at the boy with a proud look. Then his big hand patted Hudson's shoulder-hard but warm."Great," he said with a faint but genuine smile. "You've almost mastered the demon-destroying punch technique. Normally, it takes three years to get to that stage. But you... won't take that long."He leaned in slightly, his eyes sharp yet admiring."You're very talented, Hudson."Hudson raised his eyebrows, his eyes sparkling with excitement. "Mr. Greenwood, when will I be able to master it?"Greenwo

"Get down!" Harvey pulled Jordan's shoulder quickly, making his driver's body jerk downward in time. The windshield was shattered by the bullet, the fragments flying, casting a dangerous glow in the air. Jordan could see a small burning spot on the glass-the trace of the bullet that almost ended his life. From behind, there was a loud shout, "Fire!"A hail of bullets slammed into the body of their car. Metal screamed, rear glass cracked, and the vibrations of gunfire filled the cabin.Jaw hardening, Jordan bent his body and slammed the accelerator. Tires screeching wildly, their car shot backwards and slammed into the vehicle following behind.A loud crash was heard, the attacking car jolted.Jordan quickly changed gears, then hit the gas again. The car groaned, spinning sharply. Jordan slammed the steering wheel to the right, making the car slide sideways among the chaos."General! Are you okay?" Jordan glanced quickly in the rearview mirror. He could see Harvey sitting upright, his

“General, why are you spacing out?”Jordan's voice sounded calm but thoughtful, infiltrating the sound of the car engine roaring quietly. In the rearview mirror, he could see Harvey sitting quietly in the back seat, his gaze blank, directed out the window. The buildings and lights of the city pass by without really entering his consciousness.Harvey doesn't answer right away. His eyes narrowed slowly, as if he was trying to trace something vague in the distance-or perhaps, something in his own mind. His short speech earlier, which came out spontaneously when he rejected Vivi, echoed back in his head. Why did that sentence come out of nowhere? He had long since left Whitley Smith. His feelings for her had been extinguished like a fire running out of oxygen. But that moment, when he looked into Mirella's eyes and uttered the rejection... why did his heart not feel completely at ease?Something inexplicable throbbed in his chest.Jordan glanced again through the rearview mirror. His eyeb

"Those spies messed with Front Delight from the inside." Victoria's tone was calm, but her eyes held an old pain. She sipped her tea slowly, as if trying to soothe the memories.Harvey leaned back in his chair, his eyes piercing. "Didn't I solve the problem there before?"Victoria nodded once, slowly. "You did. You wiped out the chaos and fortified the territory with a strong defense system. But they moved like shadows. Unseen, unheard. They infiltrated inside, sowing doubt in the local leaders. The trust that was once intact, they broke from within."He stared blankly at the window. "They disguise themselves as ordinary people. But behind those faces, they are building power. Military barracks grew quietly underground. When Duskvale was blown up, they attacked. No longer hiding their faces. They slaughtered anyone, regardless of whether they were enemies or innocent civilians."Harvey furrowed his brow slightly, his eyes narrowed sharply. "Killing civilians... That's how Xenea moves

The car came to a slow stop in front of a stately home in a modern classic style. Tall pillars rose to the right and left of the main door, while the front garden was neatly landscaped with small garden lights burning warmly under the twilight sky.Jordan, who was sitting behind the wheel, turned to the back seat. "We've arrived, General. This is Mrs. Victoria Glow's house."Harvey didn't answer. His eyes searched every corner of the building-from the large glass windows on the second floor, to the white lion statue that stood quietly at the end of the stairs. There was nothing ostentatious about it, but those little details spoke for themselves: well-hidden luxury. She knew this kind of family. The kind that didn't need to show off because power and money were ingrained in the roots of their name.Without another word, Harvey opened the door and got out of the car. His steps are quiet, yet heavy. One hand touches his jacket - making sure the invitation is still inside. While his mind
