Paying Berry's Demands

"I'd like to see Berry, is he inside?"

"Mr. Berry, come please." The burly man quickly guided Axel inside.

Entering a spacious house with an interior that matched the paint of the house made the eye feel comfortable. No wonder Berry was so haughty because her house was big and grand. Unlike her small and cramped apartment.

"I beg your pardon, Axel! I'm ready to pay in installments all the costs of your demands as long as you let Axel go."

Berry smiled wryly while taking a very long look at Katrina's face.

"Why are you willing to kneel before me for that poor man."

Berry hardened his jaw because he couldn't accept that the girl he liked would prefer a poor, hapless man like Axel.

"Axel is my savior god and maybe it's time I return the favor for him."

"You want to return the favor or you like that hobo."

He moved slowly from his seat and was now squatting in front of Katrina, "Don't you know that I liked you a long time ago if you want Axel to be free of charges then come with me tonight."

Her eyes rounded perfectly when she heard Berry's words right in her ear. Katrina gulped her saliva repeatedly and asked Berry to think again and if there was any way to do that.

"I-I'll..."

"No! You don't have to do that," continued someone from the doorway who was none other than Axel.

Everyone who heard that quickly turned their heads towards the door, Katrina and Berry gasped when they saw Axel's sudden arrival.

"Axel..." Katrina called softly.

"You! How come you're here?" asked Berry, getting up from his squat and limping over to Axel.

"Here's the money you demanded."

Axel threw the bag he was carrying at Berry, then he walked over to Katrina while extending a hand towards the girl.

"Come on, get up, you don't have to kneel like this to repay me. Didn't I tell you that I would solve this problem?"

"I know, Xel. But where did you get that much money from?"

Katrina was of course surprised and a little suspicious, how could Axel get that much money in just one night?

"It's a long story, Katrina. We'd better go home now."

The blue-eyed man took Katrina's hand and led her away but his steps were halted when Berry pulled Katrina's hand.

"Wait a minute! Are you sure this money is real?" Berry asked unconvinced.

"You can check it yourself at the bank. I think it's more than enough and take the change."

"How arrogant of you to only have over $1,000 in your pocket like a young master."

"I hope what you say is true, I'm the young master and I'm asking you not to bother Katrina anymore. If you touch her in the slightest you will have to deal with me," Axel said as he pointed a finger at Berry.

Soon they were out of Berry's mansion and now that they had reached the highway intersection, Axel waved his hand to stop a passing taxi.

"Don't you work anymore? How come you're at Berry's house? Didn't I tell you not to act stupid Katrina, I don't like that."

It was obvious that Axep was very angry with the girl, he knew what he did was wrong but he didn't want Axel to be in jail because of what Berry said he would do.

"Did I ever ask you to repay me for my service to you, did I? I'd better take you back to the café because I have some urgent business."

Katrina was silent as she knew that if she interrupted Axel then he would scold her so she just listened and agreed to the blue-eyed man's order.

"But first, can I know how you got that much money, Xel?"

Axel sighed heavily, "I have my doubts about this too but I will tell you after I confirm the truth."

Katrina did not understand Axel's words.

"What does the truth mean?" she thought.

But since they had arrived in front of the café, Katrina got out of the taxi first for the future.

"I hope you don't act stupidly again like before.

"Yes, I promise I won't do it again," Katrina replied, waving her hand.

"And thank you for coming at the right time."

"That's right, if I hadn't come earlier you would have served that damn man, wouldn't you?"

Katrina looked down and felt guilty for her actions earlier. Katrina stared at Axel leaving in the taxi. What Axel had said earlier was true if he hadn't arrived on time.

She might have lost her favorite crown to a man she didn't love, but there were so many questions perched in Katrina's brain about how Axel had gotten that much money.

"Never mind about the money, the important thing is that Axel managed to pay Berry's demands," she said as she stepped into the café.

Meanwhile, Axel intended to confirm his identity, whether it was true that he was the grandson of the Geraldo family. He had just made that decision after solving his problem with Berry.

Axel remembered a business card tucked inside his passbook, he quickly took it out of his pocket. He stared at it intently while weighing his decision whether to call the number or not.

He had assumed so much that he thought he could have been an unwanted baby by the Geraldo family. Just thinking about it makes Axel's heart hate, if that's what he's going to hear, surely he won't be able to accept that fact forever.

But the problem was that he had used the money, Axel was not a man who liked to be indebted to anyone. At the very least, he should say thank you or just say if he will return the money someday.

"Alright, I'll still be there," he broke off then.

But suddenly his new cell phone rang. Feeling something vibrating in his pants pocket, Axel immediately reached into his pants pocket and saw who had made his phone ring.
