Chapter 7

Five judges announced the results for the 25 contestants. Alexander received a perfect score. When dozens of dragons attacked Klaudstion, he was responsible for shooting the dragons with giant arrows at the 30-meter-tall, 50-year-old tower.

The participants who had underestimated him secretly acknowledged Alexander's archery abilities. They felt ashamed and had no desire to apologize to Alexander.

Alexander gazed at the 24 participants as they left the Dragon Hunter organization building's backyard. He smiled crookedly; all he needed to do was demonstrate his skill, and they would hush their mouths, as he had done in his previous life.

“I told you before you would definitely win!” Francis put his arm around Alexander's shoulder. He was so proud of his friend's archery skills.

“Wow. I was amazed.” Luca clapped his hands, and the admiration in his eyes was directed at Alexander. "Even though we believe in you, Francis and I are worried that your arrow will miss the target because bad luck always comes suddenly."

“That's right!” Francis snapped his fingers, agreeing with Luca's words. “Today, luck was on Alex's side.”

Alexander smiled. He thought his destiny would change, but it turned out he still won and was trusted to shoot the dragons using a giant bow and arrow from the top of the tower.

“Alex.” Rowan walked proudly towards his son. Francis and Luca hurried away from Alexander, allowing the father and son to talk. "I am proud of you." Rowan grabbed Alexander's shoulder.

Alexander didn't know how to respond to his father's words. He imitated what he said in his previous life, “I just wanted to test my skills, and I thought archery from the tower was really cool.”

Rowan nodded. “Remember, I never underestimate you.”

"I will never forget." Alexander shook his head. "Dad and mom always support whatever I do."

Rowan advised Alexander never to lose sight of practice's importance and avoid being overconfident in his talent. He didn't want Alexander to become arrogant, primarily since his son was known to be unfriendly to others and had only two friends.

Even though Alexander didn't become a swordsman like him, Rowan was never disappointed with his only son's decision to become an archer. Since childhood, Alexander preferred archery and always ran away when he told his son to practice swordsmanship.

Alexander was annoyed by his two friends asking him to treat them. Francis and Luca said that their prayers were one of the things that made Alexander win.

Alexander snorted and responded that Luca and Francis only wanted to be treated by him because he received 15% of the revenue from selling the heart, eyes, and skin of the red dragon he had inadvertently slain in the forest two days ago.

“You're famous, Alex,” Francis said after finishing the roast beef and potato soup. “A lot of girls are talking about you. They fear you because of your fierce face, but they want to see you shoot archery on the tower.”

"Alex has been famous among girls for a long time, but no one dares to approach him because he always makes a fierce face like he's going to eat them," Luca whispered to Francis, but Alexander could hear him.

“Hey, hey, if you two want to talk about me, don't do it in front of me!” Alexander growled.

"Don't be so angry, buddie." Francis winked at Alexander.

Alexander ate his grilled chicken, and his gaze glanced at the girls sitting across their table. The girls immediately lowered their heads.

Alexander knitted his eyebrows. Then he ignored the girls.

"Alex doesn't want to hurt women's feelings, unlike you." Luca quipped at Francis.

"Just say it if you envy me!" Francis grinned broadly. “I will teach you how to get women.”

Luca rolled his eyes, ignoring Francis's words.

Alexander supported his chin. He remembered the unfamiliar voice and the blue transparent screen in front of his face.

During these two days, the unfamiliar voice and a transparent blue window floating in his view didn't show themselves, making Alexander almost forget them.

He was sure that the unfamiliar voice was from someone who had given him the chance to redo his life and demanded that he become a hero with terrifying powers. Was he God?

Alexander's brow furrowed. Does God talk to his creatures?

Even though he had seen the forms of the devil king and the devils, he still didn't believe that the devil was the boss of the dragons who attacked all humanity.

“Why do the devils want humans to perish?” Alexander was lost in thought again, ignoring Francis, who was talking about his ex-girlfriends, and Luca, who just listened to Francis without wanting to stop him even though Luca was fed up with Francis, who thought himself was the most handsome in the world.

“How did the devils get the dragons to become their subordinates?” Alexander scratched his head, confused. “Dragons can't talk, can they?”

Alexander was so frustrated. He didn't know who could answer his question. He was determined to find out the answer himself.

“Hunters and Magic Hunters prepare to attack the dragons! The dragons are attacking Miokamia, and most likely, they are going to Klaudstion.” A Hunter sits on horseback; he goes around spreading the news. Other Hunters spread the news in other regions.

"Those of you who are neither Hunters nor Magic Hunters are asked to assemble immediately at the refugee building. You all will be safe there." After the Hunter shouted, everyone instantly hurried toward the area that would save them from the dragons' fire.

Alexander, Francis, and Luca rushed out of the restaurant. Luckily, they had finished their food and drink.

Francis ran towards the Dragon Hunter organization building.

Meanwhile, Alexander ran fast to the 30-meter-high tower, which was in the center of the city. He felt his body was very light, as if he was floating.

Alexander didn't need to listen to directions from the organization's chief because he already had responsibility.

Alexander turned his head when he was about to climb dozens of stairs because he felt someone running after him. He was surprised to find Luca panting behind him. "Why did you come to this tower?"

“Didn't the chief tell you that a magic hunter would accompany you?” Luca touched his chest; he was still having difficulty catching his breath. “I have wind magic, and I can control the wind; those two things can help you.”

Alexander patted his forehead. Gosh. He forgot that Luca was his work partner. Without Luca's wind control magic, he couldn't shoot on target.

“Dad didn't tell me. Nobody told me.” Alexander shook his head. The incident was the same as in his previous life.

"Come on, we have to quickly get to the top of the tower before the dragons come!" Alexander exclaimed.

Alexander climbed dozens of stairs rapidly. He didn't feel fatigued at all. He greatly benefited by having 1.000.400 points on strength and speed.

Alexander took time to look at the giant bow and arrows lying on the wooden table. Then, he lifted both objects quickly and felt no weight at all.

In his previous life, when Alexander first started archery, he had to ask Luca for help to hold his hand holding the giant bow made of iron because he couldn't lift it alone. He forgot how long it took him to be able to keep the giant bow without Luca's help.

“Wow.” Luca dropped his jaw. He was amazed at Alexander's strength. “I'm pretty sure that giant bow is very heavy. I saw two Hunters lift the bows to put them on the table.”

Alexander smiled bitterly. “They really believed I could lift it alone.”

Luca smiled at his friend. “They are right. You can do it yourself.”

Alexander smiled crookedly. It was all due to the strength of 1.000.400. He debated with himself whether he should inform Luca about repeating his life one year before the devil king and his demons appeared to wipe out all humanity.

Luca might trust him and be able to keep his secret, but Francis would be angry with him. Alexander was surprised at himself for suddenly caring about Francis' response.

One second later, the Hunters and Magic Hunters standing on the roofs of the buildings and homes screamed to inform them when they saw dozens of dragons flying closer and closer.

[7 days after the devil's subordinate dragons attacked humans.]

[You have been chosen to be a hero. Your second task is to kill 20 dragons.]

[If you fail. You will get a penalty.]

[You are powerful, but your status will decrease if you fail your task.]

Alexander smiled crookedly. He was confident he could kill all the dragons.
