Marcus walked into the elevator, his demeanor calm and unchanged; he was not trying to put anything on his mind.
His phone began vibrating; pulling it out, he saw a strange number. He answered the call with a smile on his face.
“Well, I wonder why the Dancing Dragon is calling me; it must be something urgent.”
“For the first time in a while, you answered the phone. I prepared a gift for your wife and her family. It's the Eon Diamonds, the ones worth $200 million. I wanted to give them something bigger but?”
“Don't bother with it; sorry for giving all of you high hopes like that to meet them.”
“What happened? Is anything wrong, Lord Marcus?”
Marcus rolled his eyes; he knew that he would have to tell them anytime from now.
“Nothing much, just that I am getting divorced. Can you do me a favor, Austin?”
“Name it, Lord Marcus, I will do it with no hesitation!”
“Come pick me up; I need to get ready for the gala tomorrow. There are many things I need to put in order.”
“Where am I picking you up from?”
“Forrest Corporation,”
“I will be there in 10 minutes!”
With that, the call ended. Marcus was looking at the elevator door; he had a lot going through his mind, and the only thing he wanted to do at the moment was get back to a place where he would be alone.
The elevator opened, and he was still looking at his phone, not looking at the door, when it opened.
“I never thought I would see Lauren's handbag walking out of the building like this.” A voice said from the other side.
He looked up to see who it was, and there, right in front of him, he saw someone he was not going to be happy to look at.
Keith Crenshaw, one of the Sintrils' famous spoiled brats. If entitlement had a score, then he would be a top runner. The main irritating thing about him was that he was one of Lauren's not-so-secret admirers who would openly say things to her when he was even there.
But it didn't matter anymore; he wasn't married to her anymore, so nothing was going to hold them together.
Marcus had the coldest look on his face, trying to avoid anything that would look like a confrontation with the imbecile.
He tried to walk past him, but the man blocked his path. He looked up to see what the problem was.
“Can I help you?” He calmly asked Keith while burning with rage inside his heart.
“Oh, so you can talk back? I thought you were just mute whenever you saw me.” Keith smiled; he leaned closer to whisper something to Marcus.
“We both know it is for the best if you leave now; she is meant for more, not to be tied down by someone so useless.”
Marcus slowly turned his gaze to the man in front of him; surprisingly, he didn't know how he was able to hold himself back from hitting the man.
He was about to walk away when Keith used his leg to trip him a bit. Causing an envelope to fall out of his pocket, Marcus caught himself trying to pick up the envelope, but then Keith snatched it. Without even a second thought, he tore it open.
“Let's see what contraption you have.” Keith paused when he saw what he was looking at.
“These are golden tickets to meet with the high-ranking families of Sintril! Only a select few are given these tickets!” Keith looked at Marcus; he could see the look in his eyes.
“Hand it over.” Marcus was looking at Keith; he was not taking the insult lightly, knowing that Keith wanted to see what he was going to do.
“Tell me now, how did you get this?” Keith began to raise his voice a little. “I know you don't even have the money to buy it, let alone be given one, so this means you stole from Lauren. You didn't even wait for…”
Marcus closed the distance between him and Keith; he was looking at him. He had bottled up the rage for long, and he was going to make sure that he would pass on a warning.
Marcus stared at Keith, almost like he was looking into his soul.
“The only reason your arms are still attached to your body is because somehow I am managing to control my anger and rage. But let me tell you now, you are about to draw your last straw, and heaven knows I won't be kind enough to hold back.”
Keith stared at Marcus; fear resonated in his heart at the moment. He had taunted Marcus in the past, said many things very insulting, and Marcus was mute to all his insults and taunts, but standing in front of him now was a different man.
A man who would not waste time ending him if anything got too far.
Marcus took the envelope from Keith and slowly put it back into his pocket. The look on his face was still the same, unfazed and cold. “Isn't that the boss’s husband?”
“I heard he is a nobody, so why is he talking to Mr. Keith like there is something he can do?”
“Maybe he wants to make himself look scary.”
The workers at the corporation were staring at them, shocked to see what was happening.
Marcus didn't want to cause a scene; he slowly began walking away. Trying to see if he would maintain the order of things, he wasn't going to give Keith any other chance for nonsense.
Keith saw Marcus leaving, and he thought that he wanted to insult him; there was no way he would let him walk away after making him look like a fool.
“Hey, stop right there and tell me where you got those tickets from.” Keith snarled; Marcus paid no heed to him.
“I am talking to you!” He reached out and pulled Marcus by the shoulder. “I don't know what you think you are, but there is no way in hell a nobody like you has the right to leave when I am still talking to you.”
Marcus paused; he let out a sigh as he stared at the door. “You did it again.”
He muttered calmly. Keith was confused.
“Did what?” He raised his brow as he looked at Marcus.
Marcus slowly turned to Keith; the grim look on his face was strong enough to kill a man.
“Such a fool…” He shook his head as he cracked his knuckles.
“What?”
Before Keith could finish talking, Marcus had flung him across the room onto a desk, damaging computers and other things.

Chapter 8
In the executive suite of Griffin Peak Hotel, Marcus could be seen getting ready for something. He wore a dashing blue suit; it was well fitted. He pulled out boots from a rack, a smile on his face. The doors of the suite opened, and Austin was seen standing there with a puzzled look on his face, dressed in a brown suit, two diamond earrings on, and a clearly priceless watch on his right hand.Marcus turned to look at Austin; he smiled when he saw him there. “Good to see you here.” He said he was happy to see him there that early. “You are one heck of a man.” Austin walked in, moving to the seat there as he sat down. “You saved a life yesterday, then decided to take a life hours later.”Austin balanced on the seat, looking at Marcus. “You managed to take Eizo off the map; what made you do it?” Marcus turned to look at his friend. “Filth like him shouldn't be allowed to be in the city; he ruins it with his nature.” Austin was smiling; he threw his head back with a smile. “You shoul
Chapter 7
Marcus joined Claire in her own car as they were driving to the Prince family mansion. Marcus was oddly calm; it wasn't like him to just accept the date like that, but he kept a clear mind. “I wonder what made you not say a thing while I was working on your brothers.” Marcus broke the awkward silence. He was looking at Claire, trying to know what it was that made her even look at him like he was going to be able to do something about the poison when it wasn't even certain if he would be able to save them. Claire turned to Marcus, her facial expression changed, and she was smiling. “Well, one of the household matriarchs said that if you didn't know what was wrong with them, then there was bound to be no cure, and I have never seen her go wrong in my life, so I was going to make sure that I followed her words.” Marcus was surprised to hear all that, a warm smile on his face as he turned out the window. “I didn't know someone had that much faith in me.” He was at ease, trying to put h

Johnson couldn't move; he was looking at Marcus. He knew nothing was going to save him from what was coming his way. Claire walked closer to Johnson. Her expression was dark, and the rage in her eyes could be seen. “Mr. Johnson, I believe you can explain yourself?” Johnson was looking at them; it wasn't clear what he was expected to say, but then he turned to Marcus, and his anger boiled more. Marcus raised his brow, looking at the man in front of him; he wasn't in the mood to entertain rubbish. “I believe you were asked a question so I want to know why you thought it would be a good.” “It was because you took everything from me!” Johnson shot out; he was looking at Marcus with pure rage.“I am a medical student, with high majors and all the required documents, but then I am overshadowed by a genius who seems to work miracles!” Marcus was looking at Johnson; the correct set of words couldn't come out of his mouth at the moment. “I wanted to make sure that one patient would be r
Chapter 5
Marcus turned to the children; his eyes were closed, almost like he was praying. His hands were by his side, no one knew what he was doing, but they could see that he was up to something. The moment he opened his eyes, they had a jade glow, but it was clear that no one could notice it. He turned to the boys in front of him and began the examination. His eyes went through their body suddenly, he paused when he spotted something on their neck, "Black veins."Marcus touched the vein, and he could feel that there was something off about the vein and the way it was on both their necks. "Since when did this get to Sintril?" Marcus could recognize what was making the children sick. He took a scalpel, and he made a small cut on both their arms. The brown-haired girl was uneasy watching them; she didn't know what Marcus was doing or how he was going to help the twins. “Sister, I don’t know how this man is going to be able to save them. He is acting like a madman.” She was looking at the
Chapter 4
Marcus threw the phone to the side, placing his head back on the chair. He didn’t say a word; it wasn’t what anyone would want to imagine. “Should I sink them?” Austin muttered; he was looking at his phone. “You know, it’s one word, and I will make sure that the Forrest family will understand what role you played in their lives.” Austin was looking at Marcus; his face held nothing like a grudge. “No, leave them.” Marcus didn't want anything that would make him even think of Lauren and her family. “I will let fate handle her, and you know there is no way for her to walk away from it for long.” He had a calm face; it was like he had erased her from his mind. Austin smiled; he turned to his phone. His brows raised when he looked at what was in front of him. “Well, if you were not going to do anything, then just know she is about to be hit hard by the Holt family; news spreads fast, even when the Prince is no longer protecting them.” Marcus rolled his eyes; he looked out the window
Chapter 3
Marcus was looking at the workers; they were shocked to see that he wasn't even scared to touch someone who was an heir in Sintril. “I could have warned you to stop, but you wanted to show just how powerful your daddy’s money makes you.” Marcus cleaned his fists as he turned to walk away. The moment he turned, there were guards standing there with their stun guns ready to shoot. “Stand down!” One of them yelled. He was looking at Marcus, and he was sure that nothing was going to keep the man back from hurting anyone else. Marcus rolled his eyes as he looked at the men in front of him. He had an empty gaze on his face. “Why are all of you suddenly in the way?” He asked, his tone showed he was trying to keep it as civil as possible. “When he was embarrassing me, you didn't see it?” “We won't tell you again, stand down or?” “Or nothing would happen!” A voice came from the outside, and someone stepped into the building with a smile on his face. “Took you long enough.” Marcus h
