Kael looked at the glass in his hand for a moment, then lifted his eyes calmly.
“It’s just Château Montclair 1978,” he said. “I don’t really think there’s anything to be impressed about.” He paused slightly, then added, almost as a question, “It’s just a normal wine, like the others… right?” “What?” A sharp gasp rippled through the hall. People froze. Normal wine? Nothing to be impressed about? Even the attendant stiffened. A few of the judges exchanged quick looks, clearly shaken. Murmurs spread like wildfire through the audience. Elara Voss straightened in her seat. She wasn’t someone who lived in luxury, because unlike the students, the teachers just needed only academic qualifications to become teachers, but even she knew what Château Montclair 1978 meant. A wine like that wasn’t something people called normal. Her eyes stayed fixed on Kael, disbelief clear on her face. The attendant recovered first. “What do you mean by that, young man?” he asked carefully. Kael looked toward the bottle on the tray. “Well,” he said simply, “it’s a wine I’ve had many times.” More gasps. “My grandfather has them delivered to him by Montclair Estate Cellars in Bordeaux,” Kael continued calmly. “He mostly uses them when there’s an event or a gathering. He looked back at the attendant, his tone unchanged. “So to me, it’s pretty normal, there’s nothing really big about it.” The hall went completely silent. Victor’s mouth was slightly open. Naomi’s confident expression faded. The other class stared, stunned. One of the students from the other class stepped forward slightly and looked at Kael. “Who is your grandfather?” he asked. Then he added quickly, “No—where are you even from?” “Beryland,” Kael replied shortly. “Beryland?” The students from the other class looked at one another wondering which part of the earth that place was. “Wait… isn’t Beryland a village?” someone said. Almost immediately, laughter broke out. Some students in the hall laughed, others on the stage joined in. The sound spread quickly. “This guy is an Ashlander,” one person said loudly, laughing. “And he dares to say Château Montclair 1978 is normal.” Another student laughed and stepped in. “So let me get this straight,” he said mockingly. “He said his grandfather uses that wine for events, so if there are, say, thirty people at an event, that means his grandfather spends about six hundred thousand to seven hundred and fifty thousand dollars just on wine alone?” The laughter grew louder. Another voice joined in, even sharper. “Didn’t you hear him say the wines are provided by Montclair Estate Cellars?” the student said. “You all know what that place is, right?” A few shook their heads. “That’s the official wine-producing estate for Château Montclair 1978,” he continued. “Even my family, rich as we are, couldn't build a personal relationship with them because we weren’t rich enough for their liking.” He pointed lightly at Kael and laughed. “But this villager here is saying they provide his family with wine,” he said. “Haha. So what, his grandfather is insanely rich but still stays in a village?” He shook his head dramatically. “Why doesn’t he just say his grandfather owns a gold mine too?” he added. “At least that would sound believable to match how rich he's trying to paint him.” That line sent the hall into even louder laughter. On the stage, the members of Level 1–A felt it sharply, some clenched their fists while the others looked away, embarrassed and annoyed. Ariana who was seated was just staring at Kael quietly. The judges exchanged glances before one of them sighed and shook his head. An assistant did the same. To them, it looked like Kael was bragging, and badly at that. They believed he had gone too far, but what none of them realized was that, Kael wasn’t bragging, he was simply speaking from what he knew. In Beryland, those things were normal to him. He didn’t know how rich his grandfather truly was when he was in the village, nor did he know how impossible his words sounded to the people in this hall. He only knew what he had grown up with. Elara sat quietly in her seat, her eyes fixed on Kael With a slight frown “This is unbelievable…” she whispered to herself. She shook her head slowly, her voice barely audible. “Why would he say something like that here?” she murmured. “This isn’t the place to brag, I made him join them so he could experience something fun.” Her eyes moved briefly to the judges, then back to Kael. “Château Montclair 1978… normal?” she whispered again, clearly disturbed. “Even people with real wealth wouldn’t speak so carelessly.” She let out a small breath. “If he wanted attention,” she said softly to herself, “he didn’t have to go this far.” Elara crossed her arms lightly, still watching him, to her, it looked like Kael had overdone it. The attendant stepped forward, his voice calm but firm. “Young man,” he said, looking directly at Kael, “are you aware that we are here to speak facts?” The hall slowly quieted. “This is a place to showcase what we truly know,” the attendant continued, “not a place to lie or brag about things you know nothing about.” He paused for a moment, letting his words sink in. “You should also understand,” he added, “that lying here will cost you a lot. It affects your class, your standing, and how you are judged.” All eyes were on Kael now. The laughter had faded, replaced by tension. Kael stood quietly, listening,he didn’t interrupt and he didn’t look offended neither. “Well that wouldn't be needed, I didn't lie about anything I said.” He repliedLatest Chapter
Chapter 85: Leonard Takes Ariana Out
A car rolled to a stop just outside the main gates of Valaris Academy before the engine went quiet.A second later, the door opened and a young man stepped out, it was Leonard Virel Montague. He was dressed neatly for the night, wearing a clean fitted shirt and dark trousers that sat well on him, the kind of outfit that made it clear he had money and knew how to carry himself. Everything about him looked arranged on purpose, from the watch on his wrist to the easy confidence in the way he moved. He closed the car door, leaned lightly against the side of the vehicle, and then brought out his phone.Without wasting time, he placed a call, and the moment it connected, he said smoothly,“Hey, I’m outside your gate, waiting for you.”About fifteen minutes later, he was still leaning by his car when he finally saw someone walking out through the academy gate, and the moment his eyes landed on her, he straightened a little without even meaning to.It was Ariana. For a second, he was honestly
Chapter 84: Celeste vrs Raymond.
“What?” Celeste was shocked instantly. She placed the coffee cup on the table. For a moment, she did not even move, she just stared at him. Her mind almost refused to accept what she had heard.Raymond on the other hand did not look ashamed, but was rather calm, like he had said something normal.“You heard me.”His voice was steady, and that only made it worse.“One night with me, and I will return your position. It’s a simple arrangement.”Celeste’s face burned instantly, the shock in her eyes quickly turned into anger. She pulled her hand away from the table and sat up straighter, staring at him like she could no longer believe the type of person sitting in front of her.“Are you mad?” The words came out sharp. “You called me here for this?”Raymond did not flinch. “I called you here because you need help, and I’m giving you a way to get it.”That was the point where Celeste’s anger rose fully. All the stress, all the humiliation, all the frustration she had swallowed since yesterd
Chapter 83: Celeste Meets Raymond
Raymond stepped into the coffee shop. Right after that, he paused for a brief second, scanning the space calmly, probably looking for Celeste.Celeste, who had seen him already, quickly raised her hand slightly, signaling him. His gaze locked onto her almost immediately, and for a moment, as he looked at her, a faint smile formed on his lips.“So pretty.” He muttered as he began walking toward her table. Getting there, he pulled out the chair opposite her and sat down right in front of her.“Hi,” he said.Celeste nodded lightly, returning the smile.“Hello, welcome.”Raymond gave a small nod, then leaned back slightly looking at the empty table.“Youv’e not ordered anything yet, let me order something.”“Don’t worry, I will, I was waiting for you first.” Celeste replied. Right after that, she raised her hand and signaled to a waiter nearby. When the waiter approached, she placed an order.“Two cups of coffee, with milk.”The waiter nodded and stepped away. “Should be ready soon.” Her

“A room?” Celeste frowned instantly, her tone tightening a little, “we can still discuss this in a public place, let’s meet at a café, I’ll handle the bill, so I'll send you the location.”Raymond’s expression dimmed slightly, that wasn’t what he wanted, but he didn’t push.“Alright,” he said calmly, “send it.” “We’ll meet there.”The call ended.Celeste stood there for a moment, staring at her phone, and slowly, a faint smile appeared on her lips. For the first time since she lost her job, she felt hope.Quickly, she opened her phone again and began searching for a high-end coffee shop, scrolling through options until she found one that looked perfect, elegant, quiet, suitable. She copied the name and sent the location to Raymond, then without wasting another second, she grabbed her bag, turned, and walked out of the house. At the same time, at the gates of Valaris Academy, a bolt taxi rolled to a smooth stop near the ladies’ dorm side, and a second later, the door opened, before Ari
Chapter 81: Raymond Calls Celeste
Darius’s voice came through quickly. “Young Master Kael, I’m really sorry,” he said, his tone apologetic, “when your call came in earlier, I was in the middle of a meeting, I didn’t even check the caller ID properly, I answered briefly but had to hang up immediately because the meeting had already started.” He continued, “It was only after the meeting ended that I checked and realized it was you, if I had known, I would have paused everything.” Kael nodded slightly as he rode. “I understand.” He didn’t sound bothered. Darius spoke again. “Is there anything you needed me for?” Kael paused briefly, then shook his head even though the man couldn’t see him. “No, nothing serious,” he said calmly, “there was something I wanted help with, but I’ve handled it already.” “Maybe later we’ll talk.” Darius nodded from the other side. “That’s perfectly fine, I also didn’t receive your details for the driving license.” Kael exhaled lightly. “It slipped my mind, I’ll send it once

The guy nodded quickly, straightening up as if trying to sound official, then he cleared his throat slightly before speaking.“Well… you see, it’s actually for… maintaining order in the room,” he began, his words coming out with a mix of confidence and uncertainty, “you know, making sure no one gets bullied or anything like that.”He gestured lightly around.“This place has a lot of people, so sometimes things can get rough, fights, misunderstandings, stuff like that,” he continued, now sounding more convincing as he went on, “so we… we handle those things.”He nodded to himself. “Yeah, we make sure everyone stays safe.”“And also… for, um… security of belongings,” he added quickly, “like making sure no one steals anything, or if something goes missing, we step in and resolve it.”His explanation started to stretch.“And then there’s… maintenance too,” he went on, clearly mixing things up now, “like contributing to… you know, small repairs and stuff in the room, just general support.”
