“What is it?” Tristan asked, noticing Sara's prolonged silence.

Sara sighed, slightly miffed. “I don't think we have any patents that would be able to catch Mr. Bolton’s eyes.”

“That can't be true.” Tristan remarked. “Come on, think hard. There has to be something we can use. Don't forget, this might be our only chance to get the partnership with Mr. Bolton.”

Pursing her lips, Sara thought long and hard.

Just then a spark lit up in her eyes.

“You're right, we do have one.” Sara excited

"Master Reid," the leader hissed, his body beginning to blur as he gathered his qi. "We know you possess a strange power, otherwise you wouldn't have interfered in the way you have. But Haven is currently the nexus of a great ritual. The 'Six Paths' are converging, and we cannot have a wild card like you interfering. If you won't join us, and you won't leave... then you are simply fuel for the Altar.""A ritual?" Alistair's eyes sharpened, the faint golden glow beginning to intensify."Enough talk! Kill him!" the leader roared. The shadows lunged. The scarred assassin reached Alistair first, his blade whistling through the air in a decapitating arc.Alistair didn't even raise his hands. He simply shifted his weight, the blade missing his throat by a fraction of a millimeter. Before the assassin could recover, Alistair struck a single finger against the man’s chest.A dull *thud* echoed, followed by the sound of glass shattering. The assassin’s eyes widened, the demonic qi surrounding

Noticing this, Elizabeth asked. “Is everything okay, Master Reid?”“No.” Alistair calmly said as he slowly brought the car to a stop. The road they followed was usually busy yet tonight, it was quite empty. Not only that but there was a foul aura in the air. That was enough to let Alistair know that something was wrong. “Stay in the car.” Alistair calmly said as he opened the door and stepped out of the car. Elizabeth felt a bit tense but since Alistair was with her, she didn't worry too much.Alistair walked to the front of the car and then remarked. “Are you going to keep hiding or are you going to show yourselves?”Silence and then, they emerged from their hiding spots. These were nothing like the people that attacked him back at the Smith's residence. They were bonafide assassins, radiating a bloody aura which was something that only those who had killed a lot could manifest. There was a lot of blood on their hands. But that wasn't the only thing.Alistair caught a whiff of

“This is all that bastard Alistair's fault. Because of him, we got humiliated and now we've been banned from DuMont, one of the top clothing brands in the city. I can't believe someone like Elizabeth Bolton would take his side!” Mirabel said in annoyance.“That's enough, Mirabel.” Sara chided her. “It was your fault for taking things too far.”“What? My fault? Didn't you also say that Alistair was in the store to steal? So how is it my fault?” Sara glared at Mirabel, shutting her up in the process.“Let's just leave this place. We can try someplace else.” Tristan said while barely managing to keep his true feelings in check.Though he feigned calmness, inwardly, he was a raging storm. This was the second time that Alistair humiliated him in public. It was supposed to be his time to shine but Alistair ended up one-upping him.But Tristan wasn't about to give up.He swore in his heart that next time, Alistair, who's the fool that's humiliated, not him.Meanwhile, Sara was also struggli

  • Chapter 212: Kicked out

"They are to be blacklisted. From this store, from this mall, and from every Bolton-affiliated establishment in Haven. If I see their names on a guest list, that venue loses our patronage." Elizabeth said to Sterling, referring to Sara, Tristan, and Mirabel.Tristan looked as if he were about to faint.A blacklist from the Boltons and Smiths was a social death sentence."Alistair..." Sara whispered, looking up at him with tear-filled eyes, pleading for him to say something—anything—to stop the nightmare unfolding.Alistair, who had been watching the scene with the detached curiosity of someone watching an ant farm, finally spoke."Elizabeth, that's enough," he said. His voice wasn't loud, but it instantly cut through the tension. "I didn't come here for a drama. I came for a suit."Elizabeth immediately bowed her head, her fiery demeanor vanishing as she turned back into the respectful disciple. "I apologize, Master. I let my temper get the better of me."“It's alright. Come on, let's

Mirabel trembled, realizing a bit too late that she had overstepped and offended the heiress of the Bolton family. “Miss Bolton, please forgive me, I was a bit too muddle-headed just now.” Mirabel pleaded. Just then, Tristan stepped forward. “Miss Bolton, isn't this a bit too harsh? Mirabel was only trying to look out for you?” Elizabeth glared at him. “What's your name?”Seeing an opportunity to introduce himself, Tristan remarked. “Tristan Cole. I…”“Come closer,” Elizabeth said, cutting Tristan off.“That…”“I said, ' Come closer,” Elizabeth repeated.Unsure of what to expect, Tristan stepped forward only for Elizabeth to unleash three slaps on his cheek in quick succession. The sharp cracks of the three slaps echoed through the boutique like consecutive whip cracks, leaving a ringing silence in their wake. Tristan stumbled back, his ears humming and his vision swimming.A bright, angry crimson began to bloom across his cheeks, perfectly tracing the outline of Elizabeth’s finge

Alistair looked down at the top of Elizabeth’s head, his expression unchanged."Get up, Elizabeth," he said softly. "You aren't the one who needs to be on the floor today.”Elizabeth didn't move immediately, her forehead still pressed against the polished floor. To the onlookers, it was a scene from a fever dream: the proudest daughter of Haven’s elite, kowtowing to a man the store manager had just threatened with an arrest for vagrancy."I cannot rise until I know you won't hold my mother’s insanity against the entire family," Elizabeth pleaded, her voice trembling. "My father is already dealing with her. She has been sent away... but Alistair and the Boltons owe you more than a simple apology. We owe you everything."Alistair reached down, his fingers closing around her elbow with a firm, steady strength that brooked no argument. He hoisted her up as if she weighed nothing. "I said, get up. Your mother’s debt is hers to pay. You’ve always been different, Elizabeth. Don't humiliate y
