Ling's Resolve

The cultivation ranks of a martial cultivators started with the lowest rank being the Earth Rank, this was the foundation rank where chi would awakened and be able to be manipulated by the martial cultivators. There were three stages every martial cultivators would go through to achieve mastery on this rank. The early, mid and late earth rank stages.

It was where a martial cultivators would solidify their foundation to start their cultivation journey. If Sky Ling was to achieve a breakthrough the next rank he would reach was the Sky Rank .

The dragon materialised before him and spoke, "Now that your veins have been opened, since they still have the characteristics of a new chi veins the rate at which your body will absorb chi for the first time will be fast. Combined with the benefits I have given you by enhancing your DNA, you will become much stronger much quicker. But this will not help you breach the gap between your peers, since this will all depend on your own strength."

Ling stroke his chin and stared at the door, he understood what the dragon meant to say and he was not one who liked to be locked away in a room. He had always dreamed of one thing, but due to his poor state he never had the power to achieve that dream.

Ling hopped out of the bed and stretched his aching bones, "You know dragon, because of you I can finally finish my goal."

The dragon stretched alongside him, despite it not needing to since it was a materialisation and not an actual thing. "And what is that?"

Ling exhaled slightly as his eyes darkened as he spoke. "To have revenge on the Sky family for abandoning me. They thought I was trash now with the power you have given me I will have my revenge on every one of them, till I surpass even the clan leader. I know my mother was poisoned by one of the other queens, but I've never had any means to fight back. Until now that is."

The dragon yawned, not taking much interest in his words. "As long as you have a motivation to get stronger I don't really care. I sense that the energy buildup in your body will soon reach a bottleneck, care to explain this."

Ling looked at the dragon for a few seconds in silence, he had expected it to know a lot about cultivation since it was from the future but it seemed that it was incapable of this. Ling was still unsure of the abilities the dragon might have tha is if it had any. "That's because I've reached the late earth rank stages, I'll soon breakthrough to a major rank called the Sky Rank. Here is where I'll be able to really utilise actual martial arts skills, usually I have to take special chi pills to help gather enough chi energy into my core to help me breakthrough. But since my mother died and I have been neglected I currently have no money to get any, and the family does not give a damn about me."

The dragon nodded in understanding, "So despite being a noble you are also poor, this is quite a unique statement. Anyway would you like to see your stats?"

Before Ling could ask what it was the dragon answered his curiosity by snapping it's fingers causing a new screen to appear before him.

Ling marveled at what he was seeing before him, "Is this accurate?"

The dragon nodded proudly, "It is, a detailed information on your full range of abilities currently. Of course you can still grow."

Ling nodded in understanding, he looked to a corner to find new clothes had been left for him there. As he prepared to put them on he paused for a brief moment and looked at it for a long time that the dragon was forced to ask him what the problem was.

"Don't tell me you are against the colour", it said without any hint of humour in them.

Ling gnashed his teeth, veins bulged on his temples. "Someone's covering up the fact that I almost died. If a traveler really found me and brought me here then they would have seen my bloody clothes and confirmed it, but someone chose to hide that fact along with my clothes." He balled his hands into fists and squeezed the clothes tighter in his hands. "That old bastard Mink must be in on this."

The dragon observed him for a moment before saying, "Tell me what are you going to do?"

Ling said in rage. "I'll beat the answers out of him."

The dragon shook it's head and said. "Don't be drunk on the power you have yet to hone, I can't make decisions for you but I can over suggestions. Currently you're not visibly strong to make a scene. How do you think people will react when they find that you have opened your veins?"

Ling paused and thought for a bit before saying. "You're right." The fact that he could now use chi would not make the other princes or even the clan readily accept him, that is if that was his goal. But what Ling wanted was to avenge his mother's death and the wrong they had done him, he did not want them to know he could use chi just yet. But if he was to have his revenge he would need to get stronger and that meant learning martial arts, he knew he had the basics down since that was the level he had been his whole life. "I'll come back for the old man later, I have to know the extent of my abilities now."

The dragon nodded, "You might have a bad intention but as long as it aligns with our path to become the strongest, I don't mind. So what is your next step Sky Ling?"

Sky Ling quickly changed into his clothes and tied up his hair before heading out the door. "It's time I have a real training."

As he reached the door a kick blew through it and landed on his face, Ling's body got sent back through the air and crashing into the opposite wall before falling to the ground with a loud grunt.

"Training my ass, to think the bitch ass Ling would even say those words." Said a snotty voice.
