The strange dragon that appeared before Sky Ling had claimed that it was responsible for saving his life, now it wanted to expose to him the truth about chi. Ling could not help but be interested in what it had to say.

"Everything you know about chi is a lie. People of this time naturally awake their chi veins, allowing them the ability to use chi that flows in the natural world. These chi veins are born as a result of vein seeds, otherwise called chi source or the core of a martial warrior of this era. This is what you all believed and used as a guiding lamp for your growth in future but it is all a lie concuted by humans themselves to cover up what they did not know about chi itself. Knowledge I will now give unto you."

The dragon slithered in the air, Ling's voice got stuck in his throat as he struggled to breath. The strange dragon had yet to make it's point but the fact that it knew so much about chi was enough to shake Ling to his core.

"The vein seeds which is the source of a martial users strength are not existing naturally but are dormant bio-machines— remnants of the ancient race’s tech.

Chi is harvested and circulated unnaturally, lenghtening the lifespan of cultivators without them knowing. You might wonder what this means so I will break it down. There are other beings outside this world who came here with machines too advanced at that time, they experimented on our world and made a breakthrough on primates, they added the vein seeds into the genetic code of primates. This resulted in the primates they experimented on advancing and becoming humans, the goal of this alien race was to farm us of this chi and come back to devour us all.

We have no idea where they went after this, but we do know that they never expected humans to develop martial arts and cultivate this ability further. Humans advanced beyond their own predictions, if things had gone like this I would not be here."

Ling gulped down, despite not understanding most of the strange words from the talking dragon he could feel what they meant through the connection they shared. He was not sure he wanted to believe the words it spoke but somehow he knew they were true and that broke something within him.

"At sometime further in the future from now these alien beings returned and returned and vanished afterwards, this ended the era of martial cultivators. Your kind all wiped out, all that remained were the non chi users. No one knew exactly what happened at this time but we believe that all martial cultivators were taken to be assimilated.

More than a thousand years passed and humanity has now matched into the era of great technological advancements. Humans now genetically enhanced with inputs like me, that peace was disrupted by the resurgence of the alien race. Their power so mighty that it threw the world into chaos, humanity fought against them and started to lose to their might.

After endless research it was discovered that the secret to avoiding this was to travel to this time and create the strongest martial cultivators to stop them when the time comes. This is the path we have given to you, to climb to the peak of the world and save humanity."

Ling was silent for minutes, his brain trying to wrap it's head around the secret he had just been exposed to. To know that his entire world has just been shattered, after half an hour he finally managed to pull himself together and say.

"Tell me, what really are you? Why choose me, I'm a trash? What happened to that person from that night?"

The dragon replied. "What I am is the latest line in biotechnology enhancement, I have bonded with your DNA and enhanced it to fit the specifications needed. You can call me, SUPER GENE TECH. As for why you were chosen, very little is actually known about this era, except for where the alien race will strike and this place in particular which has a link to the alien race. The person who injected me into your presence chose you be ause you seemed like the right candidate to operate without being tied down by duties. The time travel trip is a one way trip, the time traveler who brought me had only a specific amount of time before his body would disintegrate and be gone forever."

The dragon gave a visual representation of what it meant.

It all made Ling feel uneasy about everything, the stake of the world, the fact that someone sacrificed himself for a trash such as him.

At that moment Ling felt a hot wind welling up at the base of stomach and energy flowing to all parts of his body it revitalised his muscles. He was left speechless by what he suspected had happened, another screen appeared before him showing what he had suspected.

[You have broken through two layers

You have reached the third earth stage

Inner chi level has risen]

"Did I just make a breakthrough?" He asked the dragon.

The dragon smiled proudly. "I did say you had made a full recovery."

To Ling, he had just witnessed a miracle that was impossible. At first when. The dragon spoke he expected the feat to be this chosen warrior to be impossible but feeling chi running through his veins for the first time made him cry for joy.

After a few minutes he had calmed down and could communicate easily with the dragon without losing his focus. "If what you say about these alien race is true then why use the same power they are farming in us and how strong are they?"

The dragon waved a finger in the air to silence him. "Listen here, there is a limit to how much I can reveal to you at your current level. The alien race might have given us chi but they never expected given us to be able to weaponize it, it has become the weapon we would use against them but they are still impossibly strong."

There was only one more question in Ling's mind before he could be any bit satisfied. "I sorry to say but I don't think I'll ever reach your vision for me, I far behind my peers, I don't have a teaher or anyone."

The dragon simply replied. "You only need me to guide you on this path."

"I'll be in your hands then." That day Ling smiled for the first time since his mother passed, when he met with death he also met with a second chance.

  • Ling's Proposal

Ling explained his proposal to her, with each word he sounded like a crazed lunatic than a business man. "I want the weeping shallows to align with me in future, I feel our dreams align in a way. You want to become number one and it will be beneficial to have you by my side."Li Yuan felt the urge to laugh but she barely suppressed it, his words were outlandish. "You want me to align with you, that is humourous as it is insulting. To think you had the chutzpah to make such a statement. Firstly the weeping shallows does not work under any external figure, and secondly I mean no offence but you are not someone anyone would want to align with."Ling felt a challenge biting at him. "What if I can change your mind?"The mistress of the auction house tapped her index finger on the fan, clearly not falling for his childish games. "These are high quality soundproof curtains, we may not be the biggest in the village now but we use quality protection. This is needed since auction houses sell items of great rarity or perhaps stolen property of great worth. You can speak fifth young lord."He hesitated for a few seconds and studied her, she did not seem like a complicated person despite playing the part. I trust you know what this is."Li Yuan's eyes widened for a few s
