005-The Unseen Passenger

The big iron gates of the expensive country club opened for a line of dark blue luxury cars.

It was a private club for only rich people, with big green golf fields and glass buildings where rich businessmen made million-dollar deals over drinks.

In the first limousine, Kimberly Shelton sat in the back seat, busy working on her tablet.

In the front seat, dressed as a driver in a clean black uniform, was Chay Patrick. He sat straight, hands on the dashboard, driving smoothly along the road lined with trees.

Parked near the main building were three expensive sports cars shining in the sun.

Standing next to them, acting proud and important, were Paris Pentagon, her mother Beatrice, and her new fiancé, Richard Harrison.

Richard, a billionaire oil heir, wore an expensive white suit. Paris was covered in diamond jewelry that made noise when she moved.

They were there for a big business meeting with a top executive from Crystal Diamond. They wanted a deal to handle all the shipping for their new oil and wine company.

They thought this deal would make their family rich and powerful for 100 years.

Chay stopped the limousine at the entrance; the doors unlocked with a click.

He got out, walked around, and opened the back door for Kimberly while sticking to the chauffeur script.

Paris, Beatrice, and Richard turned to look, expecting an important manager to step out.

Instead, Paris stood still mid-sentence when she saw the tall, broad-shouldered man by the door.

She recognized him instantly.

"Well, look who it is," Paris shouted with a mean, loud laugh and nudged Richard. "Richard, look! It's the starving dog from Block C!"

Richard turned and looked at Chay with a cruel smile. He looked Chay up and down, seeing his plain, cheap driver uniform.

A crowd of junior executives and club members, drawn by the commotion, started to whisper while pointing at Chay in disdain.

"I told you this loser wouldn't last a week on the streets," Richard laughed. He stepped forward and threw his car keys on the dirty ground right at Chay's shoes.

"Since you're finally doing something useful, pick those up, park my sports car behind the kitchen, and don't scratch it. A poor man's hands will ruin the seats anyway."

Beatrice laughed loudly like she was watching a circus show.

"A perfect job for a criminal!" Beatrice shouted so everyone could hear. "From a dirty rat to a parking boy. Some things never change."

Inside the limousine, Kimberly squeezed her tablet so hard her fingers turned white.

She was furious and started to open the car door, ready to get out and strip every single one of them of their titles on the spot.

Before she could move, Chay raised his left hand just a little, a small signal that told her to stop.

Kimberly stopped and held her breath as she stared at him in total obedience.

Chay did not react.

Only his jaw twitched once, but his face stayed calm and cold.

He slowly bent down and picked up Richard's silver keys from the dirt. He stood up and stared straight into Richard's smug face.

"Of course, Mr. Harrison," Chay said in a low, calm voice with no emotion. "Enjoy your meeting while the weather is still good."

Richard laughed hard and slapped Chay on the shoulder like he was superior.

"That's right, boy. Know your place," Richard sneered over his shoulder. "When we come back, I want the car washed."

Paris laughed and linked arms with Richard as they walked up the stairs into the VIP meeting room, feeling so proud of their imagined superiority.

Ten minutes later, inside the glass meeting room, they were all feeling victorious.

Kimberly sat at the head of the big wooden table, looking professional, cold, and polite.

Across from her, Richard and Paris smiled as they looked at the business papers.

"The numbers speak for themselves, Ms. Shelton," Richard said, tapping a diamond pen on the contract. "With Crystal Diamond's trucks and network helping our oil pipeline and wine business, we will control 80% of the whole province by the end of this year. No one can touch us."

Kimberly looked at the papers and gave a knowing tiny, sharp smile, a smile the Pentagons thought meant she was impressed.

"Indeed, Mr. Harrison," Kimberly said smoothly in a quiet voice that made the hair on Richard's neck stand up for a second. "You have built something very... big."

She slid her signed paper across the table. "The first part of the partnership is approved. I hope you rise as high as you expect."

Paris squealed with joy and threw her arms around Richard and kissed his cheek loudly.

"We did it!" Paris whispered happily, dreaming of endless money and power. "We conquered them all!"

An hour later, Richard and Paris walked out of the club into the sunny parking lot, feeling rich and admired by everyone.

Then Beatrice's phone buzzed in her designer bag. She pulled it out and saw a routine alert from their corporate shipping subsidiary.

"What is it, Mother?" Paris asked, fixing her diamond necklace.

"Oh, just a minor automated system quirk," Beatrice scoffed, waving her hand and ignoring the file without opening it.

"The regional distribution server says some of our export trucks were sent to a different holding area due to a minor small city code update. These city workers are so dumb. Remind me to have our logistics manager fire whoever filed the paperwork."

"Forget the trucks," Richard laughed, tossing his keys to the attendant and pulling Paris close. "We have a billion-dollar empire to run. Let the small workers handle the small stuff."

They had no idea that this "small mistake" was actually the first piece of their entire business empire being quietly pulled apart, thread by thread, by the unseen passenger waiting in the shadows.
