The Winston Mansion – Nightfall

The sleek black Range Rover glided to a halt before the grand gates of the Winston mansion. The metal doors hissed open as if they recognized who had come. Jaden stepped out first, tall and sharp-eyed, the fading sunlight catching the lines of his jaw like a blade. Hannah followed closely behind, still shaken but walking straighter now—like she felt safe beside him.

The double doors of the mansion slammed open.

“Hannah!”

Donald Winston in his tailored vest—stormed down the steps of his estate. His eyes were wild, breath short, like a man who hadn’t slept since she vanished.

He reached her, arms wrapping around her shoulders, gripping her like he never wanted to let go. “My God, you’re okay… I thought I’d lost you.”

“I’m fine, Dad,” Hannah breathed, clinging back. “Jaden saved me.”

Donald slowly turned—and froze.

“…Jaden?”

The man in black stood still, hands in his pockets, expression unreadable.

“It’s been a long time, Mr. Winston,” Jaden said calmly.

“I was sure Elias and the rest would find out about the Divine Pill from the doctor once something happened to Xander,” Jaden said, his voice steady, calm, certain. “That’s why I told you he’d come crawling back for it. Man’s pride doesn’t matter when death is at the door.”The room went quiet. A low, dawning realization flickered across Vane and Nora’s faces like they’d just cracked a code they’d been staring at too long.Nora blinked hard. “So that’s why you said it with such confidence…”Vane exhaled like he’d been holding his breath the entire time. “It wasn’t a guess. You planned for this.”Jaden didn’t respond. Selena, however, wasn’t so easily convinced. She narrowed her eyes at him, skeptical but shaken. The pieces fit a little too well. “You keep doing this,” she said, arms folded tight across her chest. “Like when you said Mr. Raze would show up with an apology—and he did. Now this? What exactly are you not telling us?”Jaden just leaned back in his chair, picking up Mia’s

“Don’t think you can just take it back like nothing happened,” Nora snapped, her voice icy cold. “If they really want it, they’ll have to crawl for it. Beg like dogs.”Without waiting for a response, she ended the call with a forceful jab of her finger. But almost immediately, the phone lit up again. Elias.Nora's face twisted with fury. “Unbelievable.” She shut the phone off completely, then grabbed Selena’s and did the same. “No more calls. No more begging. They’re not getting a damn thing unless they kneel for it.”She was trembling now, not out of fear, but rage—rage from everything they’d endured.“Do they think we forgot?” Her voice cracked as the emotions poured out. “They humiliated us in front of everyone. Tossed our gift like garbage. Made us sit outside the hall like we were the help. Served us scraps like we were beggars.”Her hands clenched into fists as she glared at the switched-off phone. “And now they think they can just bark orders and we’ll hand over a miracle pill

Back in the Miracle Avenue, Jaden was enjoying his lunch together with Selena and her family, soaking in some wonderful, quality family time. For a moment, everything was normal. Peaceful. Then Vane’s phone let out a shrill, jarring ringtone.Vane flinched, almost dropping his fork.He reached for the phone, still buzzing across the table. One glance at the screen froze him solid. His lips parted. “What the hell?” he muttered. “Elias?”That name alone was enough to draw every pair of eyes in the room. Selena looked up with a raised brow. Nora paused mid-bite. Even Jaden, composed as ever, dabbed his mouth with a napkin and looked over calmly.Vane stared at the phone like it had turned radioactive. “Why the hell is he calling me now?”“Because they’re panicking,” Jaden said smoothly. His tone was low, but there was iron underneath. “It’s about the pill. I told you. Sooner or later, they'd come crawling.”Without fanfare, he reached into his coat pocket and set something on the tab

Professor Harlan spoke slowly, “The pill was first cultivated over fifty years ago,” he said, his voice low, steady, and heavy with meaning. “It was crafted using nine of the rarest, most exotic ingredients known to ancient medicine—wild herbs that no longer exist in the wild, parts of a white tiger, fragments of rhinoceros horn, even powdered moonflower harvested under eclipse. All of it fused together through techniques no modern lab would dare replicate.”He paused, eyes sweeping across the stunned faces around him.“Back then, there were no bans. No global ethics boards. No environmental watchdogs. If nature produced it, they used it. That’s what made the Divine Pill so extraordinary—so dangerous, so miraculous.”The room was silent. Nobody dared interrupt.Victor’s voice deepened. “But miracles come with consequences. After the first confirmed batch was completed, international conservation laws cracked down hard. Everything they used was outlawed. Protected species. Extinct flor

Victor Harlan didn’t wait for an ambulance. The moment Elias Verrick stormed into the adjacent lounge and explained the situation in clipped, panicked words, the professor was already moving. He snatched his kit from the floor, shoved past the stunned guests, and sprinted straight into the ballroom.By the time he dropped to one knee beside the collapsed body, the air in the room had already thickened. Conversations had died. Music had cut off mid-note. Dozens of guests stood frozen, holding their breath, unsure if they were witnessing a medical emergency or the end of an era.Victor’s hands moved fast—expert, confident, but tight with urgency. He peeled back Xander Verrick’s collar, checked his pulse, then flicked a small penlight across each eye. His brows knit deeper the longer he worked. It took less than a minute. And when he rose to his feet, the look on his face said everything before his mouth did.“This isn’t good,” Victor said flatly, his voice slicing through the silence. “

It had been a rollercoaster of a day for Jaden and his people. They left the Verricks banquet with empty stomachs and bitter hearts, their dignity bruised by the sneers and cold shoulders. But fate had a twisted sense of humor. Hours later, they found themselves seated at a private table, being served course after course of food so exquisite it made the banquet’s spread look like leftovers. The air was warm with laughter and clinking cutlery. For the first time that day, there was quiet peace. For the first time in weeks, maybe, they felt human again. The food wasn’t just good—it was a balm. Every bite washed away a little of the humiliation they’d carried. And with each sip of wine, the knots in their chests loosened just a little more. Jaden watched his daughter smile with sauce smeared on her cheek, and for a brief moment, the world stopped spinning. But while one table found joy in peace, the banquet they’d walked away from spiraled into disaster. Not long after Jaden and his fami
