As Jaden and Drax stepped out of the towering Gravesend building, the atmosphere behind them still burned with quiet tension. The giant glass doors closed with a hiss, sealing in the chaos they had just stirred. Drax kept his silence, but his gaze flickered sideways, alert as always.

Then—

"Jaden!" a familiar voice called out.

Jaden turned his head to see Hannah sprinting toward him, a mix of worry and relief written across her face. Her long ponytail swung behind her like a flag of urgency. Clara followed at a more graceful pace, heels clicking lightly on the pavement, arms crossed, her expression unreadable.

"Where have you been?" Hannah panted as she reached him. "We’ve been calling you all day! You just disappeared!"

Jaden offered a calm smile. “Took care of something important.”

“Aren’t you supposed to be at the music square? The rehearsal?” he asked.

“Yeah, we were,” Hannah replied, catching her breath. “But then we heard the King of War was arriving in Ravenmoor. And the ceremo

"Look at mine!" Harrison snapped, flashing his phone screen like it was some sacred relic. His voice was smug, his posture cocky. “I know Mr. Cooper personally. I’m calling him right now!”He grinned, waiting for the gasps, the awe. But none came.Instead, Drax cracked his knuckles, stepping forward with the calm menace of a predator. “You bastard,” he growled. “How dare you insult my boss in my presence? Are you tired of living?”His eyes were burning. One more word from Harrison, and the man would be eating pavement. But before Drax could throw a punch, a hand gripped his arm.“Don’t waste your strength,” Jaden said coolly, eyes steady and cold. “You don’t wrestle in the mud with pigs. You’ll just get dirty—and the pig enjoys it.”He turned toward the exit, his voice calm but commanding. “Let’s go.”Harrison wasn’t finished. Not yet. He hit the dial button. “You’ll all eat your words,” he hissed. “Hello? Mr. Cooper? This is Harrison—”The man’s voice on the other end cut like a blad

“You…” Williams’ voice cracked, then steadied with venom. “You may be strong, but I’m warning you—if you try to disrupt the arrival of the King of War, I’ll kill you myself.”The crowd murmured at the mention of that name. Even the boldest of mercenaries paled when they heard it. The King of War’s name was sacred, feared across Ravenmoor like the name of a living god.Williams exhaled, trying to keep his composure. He straightened his suit jacket and adjusted his gold cufflinks, his expression shifting from aggression to calculation.“I don’t have time to entertain you.” He flicked his wrist. “Tell me… how much do you want?”Jaden didn’t respond right away. He just stared at him, eyes unreadable.Williams clenched his teeth and thought, These damn lunatics must be in it for money. That has to be it. If this escalates, the King of War will bury me along with my entire bloodline! The tension in the air became razor-sharp.Jaden’s lips curled into a smirk that didn’t reach his eyes. “So…

A heavy silence had settled over the area, the crowd frozen like statues.Williams Gravesend stepped forward with a slow, deliberate gait. His black shoes splashed lightly in the pool of blood as he knelt beside the lifeless form, a white sheet half-soaked in red. With a trembling hand, he pulled the sheet back. And his world stopped.“Peter...?”His voice cracked. The chill that ran through him wasn’t from the wind.It was Peter—his last protégé. His chosen successor. The future of the Gravesend name. Now reduced to a mangled corpse.“No... no no no!” Williams growled, his face twisting with rage and grief. His teeth clenched so tight the muscles in his jaw pulsed. “How could this happen... again?!”He pulled Peter’s limp body closer, the boy’s head rolling lifelessly in his arms.Just days ago, he’d buried his only son, Baron—cut down in a mysterious assassination that left more questions than answers. And now this. His last hope, gone. Snatched away before his eyes like some kind o

“Mr. Williams... you look tense,” Anthony said, flashing a grin that didn’t reach his eyes. “If you’ve got something more pressing, feel free to leave. I can handle the welcome.”Williams didn’t look at him. “Hmph. What could be more important than greeting the King of War?”His voice was smooth, polite even—but the ice underneath was impossible to miss. Both men smiled. Both hated each other’s guts. That was business.Anthony adjusted his cuffs. “Of course. It’s your company after all.”“Correct,” Williams said, turning slightly to face him. “The Gravesend Group belongs to the Gravesend family. So naturally, it falls on me to show proper respect to someone of his... caliber.”The jab landed.Anthony’s jaw twitched. He held the smile, but his silence spoke volumes.“Liar. You’re sweating because you’re about to kill someone. And I know it.”Neither man said another word. The tension between them could’ve cut glass.---Seventy-nine floors above, in the executive suite of the Gravesend

The groans of broken men filled the room.Blood pooled on the cracked tiles, and Cooper’s security team—once cocky, well-dressed enforcers—were now twisted shapes on the floor. Some coughed. One whimpered. None of them could get up.Drax wiped the back of his hand across his mouth, then spat to the side, disgusted.“They were weaker than I expected.”Jaden didn’t even look at the bodies. “It’s the countryside. You expected battlefield standards from local muscle?”Drax grunted, adjusting his coat.At the far end of the room, Cooper trembled like a leaf in a thunderstorm. His mouth opened, but nothing came out at first. He stared at his men, bloodied and broken, and finally dropped to his knees with a loud thud.“Please... I didn’t know. I swear! Spare me!”He slammed his forehead against the floor, again and again.“I swear I didn’t know who you were!”A dark patch spread across the front of his pants. The stench followed quickly.Drax winced. “That’s just nasty.”But Jaden kept walki
