Evangeline was hiding herself like this, but why? And why was she introducing herself as Eva?

"There must be a big secret behind this," said Jack.

In response, Max said, "I can understand that too. But what is that secret?"

Jack exhaled with a hiss and said, "I don't know."

Tulip said, "I am thinking about something else."

"What?"

"Who has trapped us here? And what do they gain by keeping us trapped?"

"That too is something to think about," Jack nodded absentmindedly. "They have trapped us here, true. But have you seen the food? So many delicious dishes? And they are giving it to us on time. Apart from being trapped, they aren’t causing us any other trouble."

Max said, "I don’t understand anything. Nothing is making sense."

Suddenly, the sound of a lock opening was heard. At that sound, everyone fell silent. The door opened, and, as usual, a vampire entered. "The Emperor has called you," it said as it entered.

Max said, "Didn't I just meet with him a little while ago?"

There wasn’t even the slightest crack through which something from the outside could be seen. "Who could it be?" Max said, turning back from the door. In response, Jack said, "Evangeline. It has to be Evangeline." "Why do you think so?" Luna asked. "From the voice. I’m sure that’s Evangeline’s voice." "Yeah, it could be," James, who came closer to them, spoke up. "I’ve heard Evangeline’s voice before. This is definitely Evangeline’s voice." "So Evangeline is secretly helping us," Tulip said absent-mindedly. "But why is she pretending not to know us?" Max said, "There’s probably a mystery behind this." "But what could that mystery be?" Jack seemed to be questioning himself. "What should we do now?" Max asked. "I don’t know. We’re stuck in a place from which escaping seemed impossible. And we only had one more day. After that, we’d die. I couldn’t even tell whether it wa

"Let's go out now, then," James suggested. He looked at Evangeline, waiting for her response."No," Evangeline shook her head. "We can't go now.""Why?""There are many vampires here. But not all of them are bad.""Are you serious?" Jack exclaimed. "Even among vampires, there are good and bad ones?""Yes, there are. Why? Am I a vampire, and am I not good?""No, that's not what I mean. Never mind, let's get back to the point.""Yeah, as I was saying," Evangeline started again. "Not all vampires are good. Some are on Theodoros's side. Even though Theodoros wasn't awake at that time, his loyal vampires were still active. Besides, I couldn't even go near the pond because of them.""So, what will we do now?""We have to kill them.""The vampires?""Yeah.""But how?""Listen, I'll tell you.""Okay, go ahead.""First, we needed to make them unconscious by letting them smell the fragrance of Ultra-Desmond. Then we had to drive a wooden stake into their hearts to kill them.""What’s this Ultra

The Astraeus gang fell straight into a filthy roadside ditch. They hadn’t noticed it while laughing and staring at each other, so what was bound to happen, happened. All four of them, bikes and all, landed in the rotting muck. Covered head to toe in mud and garbage, they looked like something out of a horror movie. Astraeus, trying to get up quickly, slipped again and fell flat on his back in the foul sludge. The others burst out laughing, doubling over with tears in their eyes. Jack laughed so hard he accidentally pressed on his injured nose with his left hand, wincing in pain and letting out a loud groan, which only made the others laugh harder. “Enough laughing, let’s head home,” Max said, finally composing himself. “It’s already pretty late.” Luna glanced at her watch and gasped. “Oh no! It’s four o’clock! I’m so dead! I’ve got to go!” Grabbing Tulip’s hand, she pulled her along. “Come on, Tulip, aren’t you coming?” “Yes, yes, let’s go,” Tulip nodded hurriedly. “We’re he

As soon as Jack took a step after tying his shoelace, he couldn’t understand what happened in an instant. He found himself hanging upside down from the top of a large oak tree. A rope from above was tightly wrapped around his right ankle, keeping him suspended in the air.It took Jack a few moments to collect himself from the shock. When he looked down, his heart skipped a beat. He was dangling at least thirty feet above the ground. Falling from such a height would surely break his neck. Out of fear, he stopped flailing his arms and legs. Instead, he began shouting for help.Max suddenly noticed that Jack was no longer with them. “Hey, where’s Jack?” he asked.“Yeah, where did he go?” Luna added.“He was just with us,” Tulip pointed out. “Did he go back home?”“If he did, he would’ve told us,” Max said.Just then, they heard a shout. Jack didn’t feel like sitting in his room anymore. He called home and chatted with his parents for a long time. After finishing the call, he went downstairs, grabbed a bottle of lemonade from the fridge, and returned upstairs. Holding the lemonade bottle, he walked to the long hallway in front of his room. As he looked outside, he noticed a car driving down the driveway toward the house."Dolly Aunty must have arrived," Jack guessed. Turning around, he saw the other three had also stepped out of their rooms—probably after hearing the sound of the car horn."Dolly Aunty’s here," Luna announced. "Let’s go downstairs." Without waiting for a reply, she started descending the stairs. The others followed her reluctantly. They reached the living room just as Dolly Aunty entered from outside."Auntyyy!" He called her name, but there was no response."Strange!" Jack muttered absentmindedly. "Where did she go? Disappeared in such a short time?"He started licking his lower lip with his tongue, something he did when he was trying to think. Suddenly, from a distance, a wolf howled in a mournful tone. That sound shattered the stillness of the night. Unconsciously, Jack flinched. Even in this heat, he began to feel cold. A strange terror engulfed him. He couldn’t stand there any longer. He quickly went to his room, closed the door and windows, and lay down.Despite everything feeling odd, he fell asleep soon after. He woke up from a nightmare. He saw himself standing in a large open field. Overhead, thousands of bats were flying. But these weren’t ordinary bats. They were bloodsucking bats. Vampires. In the dark, he fumbled for t

Finally, she glanced at her wristwatch. In the dim light, she saw that it was already twelve. Just as she was about to wake Jack, she noticed him sitting on the hammock. That meant he had woken up on his own."When did you wake up?" Lily asked."Just a little while ago," Jack replied."Well, good thing you did. I was about to wake you.""Alright then, you get some sleep. I’ll keep watch."Lily wished him goodnight and lay down. Jack sat quietly on the hammock. After a while, he noticed the firewood was running low. The flames were almost out. The smallest and most frightened among them stepped forward. Without a second thought, it lunged at the beast, which was at least twenty-five times its size. It could have run away and saved itself.Though it couldn't match the jaguar's strength, Don managed to hold it off for a few moments with sheer cunning. • Chapter 100: Don the Defender

The fastest snake in the world is the black mamba. It can cover nearly five meters per second. It is also one of the deadliest venomous snakes on Earth, said to rank just behind the king cobra. Interestingly, the black mamba isn’t black at all; its body is a dark grayish-olive color, though at birth, even that shade isn’t present. As it grows older, its color deepens. The name "black mamba" comes from the inky black color inside its mouth. When threatened, it raises its head high like a king cobra and hisses loudly — just like it was doing now. The black mamba doesn’t stop after one strike; it bites repeatedly, pumping venom into its enemy. Its venom is primarily neurotoxic, attacking the nervous system directly. Just a single drop is enough to cause a heart attack and kill a full-grown human in fifteen minutes. The snake was so close, it wouldn’t take a second to lunge at Luke. Death stood right before him, and he knew it. He could see no hope of escaping alive. The snake raised half
