"Hey.... You.... Young man!"

A lady's voice made Christian to pause on his way to his house, as he turned around, a lady rushing in his way, "oh dear, I don't know your name, sorry to call you like that."

"It's okay, my name is Chris," Christian said softly, the lady smiled at him, "by the way are you the one living in flat 205?"

Christian nodded his head, the lady handed a slip to Christian, "please fill it up and give it back in security office, this is for security reasons."

"Oh, sure!" Christian smiled and took it politely, "thank you so much for bringing it to me, don't worry, I'll take care of it."

Saying that, he turned around and left from there, the lady smiled at Christian who already left, "what a polite young man!"

The apartment lights were already on when Christian returned.

Not harsh, not glaring, just enough to soften the shadows near the doorway, the lock clicked shut behind him, the sound unusually loud in the stillness.

"Back?" Adrian’s voice came from the livin

  • WHO IS SICK?

"What's your weekend plans, Chris?" Christian's mobile vibrated with a message from Luna, to which, Christian sent a lazy reply, "nothing, just making presentations to submit tomorrow." "Boring!" A new message showed up from Luna, Christian chuckled at the message, and placed the mobile aside. Before even he realised, the weekend arrived quietly, not by any alarms, or urgent calls.Just a normal and peaceful weekend, sunlight filtered through the curtains in soft bands, warming the living room floor where the city below was still half-asleep.Observing the scenery outside the window, Christian sat at the dining table with his laptop open, sleeves rolled up, and glasses perched low on his nose. He wasn’t working on company matters, not exactly, it was more of a personal review, things he’d postponed all week. Notes, sketches, and timelines that didn’t demand urgency, but he is making sure to keep a draft of everything to make a better working plan for the next whole week.Across fr

  • LET'S GO!

"Miss, shall we leave?"The driver asked, but no response came from Rosaline, he called out once again, "Ms... Ms. Rosaline...." "Huh?"The driver looked worried, "are you okay, Miss? I've been calling you but you didn't answer.""Umm, I'm so sorry," Rosaline said with a faint tone, "actually, I've been thinking about something, that's why I didn't pay attention to your words, by the way, what were you saying?" The driver can notice strange anxiety in Rosaline, but he said nothing about it, "I asked you about whether we are leaving or you've any other work here, do you want to stay or shall we leave?" Rosaline looked back at the event venue once before turning towards the driver, "Let's go!" With that she got seated into the car, and the entire car ride back was silent. The driver didn’t turn on the music, she didn’t open her phone either. The city lights passed outside the window in long streaks of gold and white, reflections blurring against the glass, but she didn’t really see

  • THERE'S A HUGE DIFFERENCE!

"This year, it's too grandeur than last year, isn't it?" "Looks like, guests this year all are from influential families!""This event, invited all the social elites who are even hard to appear at least once in high society!" All the guests are whispering among themselves, while observing the special guests among them. The charity event was everything it promised to be, soft classical music humming beneath low conversations, crystal glasses catching light, wealth and influence wrapped in polite smiles. The private lounge, reserved for high-tier donors, was quieter than a normal lounge.Rosaline being the only heiress of Valemire family recieved an invitation as well, and she wasn't able to bring herself to say no, due to her father's ill health, so she forced herself to attend it.Just got seated near the window watching outside through windows while expecting a message from Christian, a glass of water untouched beside

  • I HOPE YOU REST IN PEACE

"In loving memory of Mia Verlon, forever in our hearts." Reading it, Christian stood for a moment in front of that sign board, he didn’t plan to attend the funeral. When Luna told him about it quietly, almost hesitantly, his first instinct was refusal. Not out of anger, not out of fear, just… exhaustion. Some chapters didn’t need revisiting. But as the day went on, the thought settled, not as guilt, but as finality. Mia had been part of his past, not the version of his past that hurt the most, but not an insignificant one either. Ignoring the end of that story felt like leaving a sentence unfinished. So after a lot of thoughts and hesitation, he finally ended up visiting her funeral as a friend from the past. The funeral was held in a modest hall, far quieter than Christian expected. No large crowd, no grand speeches, just a handful of relatives, a few acquaintances, and the thick, uncomfortable silence that followed sudden death.Christian stood near the back, dressed simply, ha

  • DON'T YOU THINK IT IS RECKLESS?

"Chirp.... Chirp...." Morning came early with birds chirping, not with any other noises, alarms, or restlessness, but because Christian woke up before he needed to.That alone was more unusual than his usual routine. He lay still for a few seconds, eyes tracing the faint line of light slipping through the curtains, registering where he was. The ceiling was unfamiliar, cleaner, not so high than what he was used to. No distant voices.... No sudden knocks.... No instinctive tightening in his chest. He sat up calmly as there was work to do at the company.Quietly he walked out of the room to see Adrian making breakfast already, looking at Christian, Adrian smiled, "good morning!""Good morning!"Adrian looked worried, "did I woke you up by making sounds? Did I disturb you, dear?" "No... No," Christian gave a bright smile, "I slept early last night, and it's very peaceful too, I didn't even wake up for once, maybe due to that, I got up early." Adrian hummed, "That's great! Fresh up an
