Chapter 1
MOM, IS THAT YOU?
"Give me your necklace, you swine!" Ivan's eyes fixed on the necklace around Christian's neck, "My girlfriend is obsessed with finding one like that and I hate to disappoint her, so just give it to me!"
Instinctively, Christian's fingers ran to the smooth edges of the silver necklace, a delicate piece with swirling patterns showed its uniqueness. A few years ago, his mother suddenly disappeared, leaving Christian with only a necklace and a note, "It will always protect you, Chris!" After investigation, the police announced that his mother was dead. Christian tightened his grip on the necklace protectively. "Of course," he thought bitterly. "Everything that is important to me will always be important to Ivan, so that he can steal it from me." But he kept his voice calm. "I can't give this to you, Ivan, it's something my mother left me, so I can't let it go." "Do you think someone like you can say no to me?" Ivan crossed his arms with a sneer, Christian knows very well about his position in this house. Around 18 years ago, his mother lost her memory and forgot who she was, when she wandering on the street, she met Morris, Christian's father. He was attracted by his mother's beauty and married her. However, after the death of his mother he became an orphan, although he has a father, still he is no less than an orphan within his house, since his so-called father is so busy with his new wife and their son Ivan. Only after his mother's death did his father's affair come to light, revealing to everyone that Mr. Morris Adams has had a secret wife and an illegitimate son for so long. For Christian, life in his own home became a hell, but he accepted his fate, "I know I can't say no, but this belongs to my mom, so I can't give up! "You think I care about your dead mom's junk if not because of my girlfriend being interested in it?" He scoffed, pressing his finger on the necklace, "I'm asking you one last time Chris, are you going to give it to me or not?" "No," Christian shook his head firmly, holding on to the necklace. Ivan was angry, he punched Christian in the face and tried to grab the necklace from Chris's neck. Christian was nearly strangled, still he tried to fight against Ivan, but he was too weak to resist his fat and strong brother. However, suddenly, an accident happened, Ivan slipped and fell down the stairs. Christian's eyes widened in shock as he watched Ivan fall down from the stairs. Ivan was very angry, he wanted to stand up and teach Christian a lesson. However, Morris' voice came from the other side. "Ivan, what happened?" Ivan suddenly showed an evil smile, and he had a better idea than making a scene. He closed his eyes and pretended to faint! "Here we go again!" Christian smiled bitterly. This was Ivan's favorite way. He would beat himself up first and then tell his father, Morris, that Christian was bullying him. In this way, Morris will punish Christian again. He knew his father would not believe anything he said, but he still walked to the end of the stairs, where Ivan was lying, pretending to faint. "Ivan!" Morris's voice echoed in the hallway, and Christian felt the ground under him stumble, as his father and Teresa, Ivan’s mother, appeared at the spot. Morris’s face was full of anger noticing Ivan laying on the floor unconscious, he immediately thought Christian is the culprit, while Teresa’s hand flew to her mouth in exaggerated shock, "oh my God! Ivan, my baby!" "What did you do to him?" Morris roared, his voice literally passed a shiver down Christian's spine, "you bastard what the hell you've done to my precious son?" Christian looked at Morris stubbornly. He knew Morris wouldn't believe him, but he still defended himself. "Ivan didn't faint at all! He fell down trying to grab my necklace, and I didn't push him! He..." "Don’t lie to me! You disgusting rouge!" Morris’s face twisted in disgust, as he slapped Christian hard across the face, sending a sharp sting through his cheek. Christian stepped back, as the harsh slap made his vision blurred and the corner of his lips started bleeding. "Morris, what do we do?" Teresa cried, holding her son's unconscious body and cried, "My poor Ivan, your son is trying to kill him out of jealousy, I and my son don't have any respect or safety in this damn house!” Christian touched his beaten face, expressionless. He had gotten used to it in the past few years. Now, he was completely disappointed with his father. No matter how he explained, he would not believe it. He only had Ivan in his eyes. Christian looked at Morris calmly and said, "Ivan is so strong compared to me, I'm weak and thin, what can I even do to him with this weak body of mine?" Morris slapped him once again, "shut up you rascal! I shouldn't have let you stay in this house after her death, you're a jinx, how dare you harm my son?" Christian stood silently, Teressa looked at him with venomous glare, "you should've died along with your mother, because of you my son is in this condition! If anything happens to my son, I'll kill you!" Morris turned to Christian, with a cold gaze, "You’re a disgrace to this house, I'm taking Ivan to the hospital, you’ll stay in the attic until I get back, you’d better think about what you’ve done and repent for your wrongdoings." "I didn't do anything, he fell down himself, why can't you understand this?" Christian tried to protest, but his father was unmoved, and just worried about Ivan, "butler, ask the driver to prepare the car immediately." Christian made one final attempt to say the truth, "father, I didn't do anything!" "Enough!" Morris shouted and grabbed Christian's arm roughly, dragged him up the stairs and through the narrow corridor to the attic. He pushed Christian inside without a second glance, slammed the door shut and locked it, Christian wanted to bang the door to shout that he is innocent as he was about to place his hand on the door, his father's words paused him, "until we are back, you're not allowed to eat or drink, unless we starve you, you'll never know your mistake." Christian heard the sound of his father's footsteps disappearing slowly, and filled with extreme silence. He collapsed on the floor leaning to the door, with a throbbing cheek and heart, as he showed a bitter smile. He knew no one would believe him, no one ever did. The hatred his father had for him felt more painful than the sting on his cheek, and the cold isolation of the attic seemed to press down on him from every direction. Time passed by minute by minute, and Christian sat in the dark attic with a blank expression. He didn't know what he had done wrong, but his mother told him to be an honest man. If he was not wrong, why should he admit it? "They’ll be back soon." he told to himself, clutching the necklace so tightly it cut into his palm. "They’ll see that Ivan is fine, and this will all be over." He still held a glimmer of hope that someone could prove his innocence and let his father know that he was not wrong. However, they left for three days! Christian just sat there stubbornly, without asking for help or shouting. Gradually, hunger and thirst made him unable to hold on any longer, and his consciousness gradually blurred, but he never thought of bowing his head and admitting the things he had never done. "I'm not wrong, I didn't push Ivan..." Even before he was about to lose consciousness, Christian still repeated stubbornly. He gradually had hallucinations in front of his eyes, as if a figure opened the door and reached out to him. "Is it... Mom? I'm not wrong, Mom... I didn't..." However, an angry voice interrupted Christian's words. "You animal! Haven't you realized your mistakes after all these days?"Expand

The Lost Heir Of Sargent I REGRET EVERYTHING
"I..." Teressa's voice trembled as she mumbled, "I didn't wanted any of those.... I was just jealous of that no name woman having everything I desired, that's why...." Adrian crossed his arms with a disgusted look in his eyes, "so, you tried to bully an innocent child just because of your stupid jealousy, is this what you're trying to say?" "I'm sorry.... I'm really sorry...." "Do you think your sorry will justify everything you've done to my child?" His voice is still ringing in her ear, they're measured and unhurried.Teresa already knew what was going to happen to her, she doesn't want to scream or beg him anymore. There's no need for her to ask why anymore, as she is well aware that this man is very well prepared to torture them for what they've done to his son.She realised it since the first night they were brought to this place that there might be no returning from this place. The moment she heard the others calling him My Lord, the moment she saw everyone bow their heads b

The Lost Heir Of Sargent IS SHE STILL ALIVE?
"My Lord," Lysandre looked at Adrian quietly, "you don't need to come here all the way, we will take care of these bastards for you." "Yes my Lord," another one from their team said, "rather than wasting your time by coming all the way here, you can spend with your son." Adrian took out a cigar and lit it, while his eyes darkened in anger, "I know you people can handle it, but I want to torture them by myself, only then I can be satisfied...." "Young master thinks you're a calm and kind gentleman, if he knows you have such a side, don't you think he'll be afraid?" Lysandre raised an eyebrow pointing at dual personality Adrian shows based on people in front of him.Adrian rolled his eyes, "my son will never know this side of mine! There's no way I'm going to let him this side of mine." "So, are you planning to pretend in front of him forever, my Lord?" A woman from their team giggled, Adrian frowned slightly, "when did I pretend? I'm being the way I'm..." Lysandre chuckled, "yes,

The Lost Heir Of Sargent IS THIS PRACTICAL PROTECTION?
"What do you mean by that?" Aurora met Christian's gaze without flinching.Crossing his arms, Christian repeated the question, "I'm asking you what's the real reason behind you doing all these, I hope this time I'm clear enough for you to understand what I'm asking.... So, now can you tell me the real reason?" "The real reason is that your team is efficient," Aurora said with a calm smile, "underutilized, and currently being watched by people who would benefit from your failure, if I were to be directly involved, it'll be helpful for the project's smooth process, isn't it?" Christian’s jaw tightened slightly."That’s honest," he said. "Almost too kind."Aurora smiled faintly. "I don’t do anything out of kindness Chris, I do practical things because I'm a person with practical thinking." He leaned back in his chair, while fingers tapping once against the armrest. "So, is this practical protection?" She paused, just a fraction of a second, then spoke calmly, "This is just a mutual b

The Lost Heir Of Sargent WHAT DID I DO?
"I feel like," Andrew said while flexing his hair, "these days, all we have to do is relaxing while working is going to happen automatically on its own, isn't it great?" Kira sighed at his words, "only a lazy dumbass like you could think of things like these." "I agree with Kira," Tanya said while throwing a pen at Andrew, "just because a few things are resolved, that doesn't mean we can be relaxed, we are not sure when... What might happen!" Andrew shrugged his shoulders dramatically and looked at Christian, who had been silent throughout the entire conversation, only sipping his coffee like an innocent bystander."Hey, Chris!""Huh?" Christian blinked, finally looking up."What kind of a friend are you?" Andrew asked with fake hurt, placing a hand over his chest.Christian frowned at dramatic behaviour. "Now what happened? What did I do?" Andrew pointed at the women around the table like they were criminals in court. "We are the only men in this group, these women are bullying m

The Lost Heir Of Sargent I'M NOT GAMBLING WITH HIM
"No," Rosaline replied calmly. "I thought you'll take forever to give your answer, so after hearing to your answer, I’m just relieved you’re brave enough to say yes."Aurora narrowed her eyes. "Or foolish enough to say yes as soon as you've asked." Rosaline chuckled at Aurora's playful response. "Bravery and foolishness are sisters, they always arrive together, so don't think too much about the decisions that are already taken, nothing changes, it's not that I'm sending you to a war or something for you to complain this much, the task i gave you is very simple!" Aurora stared at her for a long moment."You know," she said slowly, "for someone who claims to love him, you’re surprisingly willing to gamble with his emotions." Rosaline didn’t deny it."I’m not gambling with him," she said gently. "I’m gambling with myself, there's a huge difference in between those both things." That shut Aurora up.For a moment, neither of them spoke. The cafe around them remained quiet, soft music,

The Lost Heir Of Sargent DO YOU KNOW THAT?
"I…" Aurora hesitated as she isn't sure what to reply to Rosaline's deal. The word barely left her lips before it dissolved into silence.Rosaline didn’t rush her, she didn’t fill the gap with pressure, didn’t lean forward, didn’t even tighten the situation. She simply waited as she wanted Aurora to give a response wholeheartedly than being rushed because it's a matter of life and she can't take it as a joke. The more she waited the more Aurora started becoming tensed, since it's a kind of waiting that didn’t feel like patience, but like certainty.Aurora stared at the hand extended across the table. It was steady, and calm, not trembling, not even desperate. It wasn’t the hand of a woman begging, it was the hand of a woman offering something already decided, that's the reason why Aurora couldn't come to a conclusion so soon.Rosaline tilted her head slightly and said softly, "I know we have to think twice before taking any decision, but in this I don't understand what's making you t
