Chapter 1
MOM, IS THAT YOU?
"Give me your necklace, you swine!" Ivan's eyes fixed on the necklace around Christian's neck, "My girlfriend is obsessed with finding one like that and I hate to disappoint her, so just give it to me!"
Instinctively, Christian's fingers ran to the smooth edges of the silver necklace, a delicate piece with swirling patterns showed its uniqueness. A few years ago, his mother suddenly disappeared, leaving Christian with only a necklace and a note, "It will always protect you, Chris!" After investigation, the police announced that his mother was dead. Christian tightened his grip on the necklace protectively. "Of course," he thought bitterly. "Everything that is important to me will always be important to Ivan, so that he can steal it from me." But he kept his voice calm. "I can't give this to you, Ivan, it's something my mother left me, so I can't let it go." "Do you think someone like you can say no to me?" Ivan crossed his arms with a sneer, Christian knows very well about his position in this house. Around 18 years ago, his mother lost her memory and forgot who she was, when she wandering on the street, she met Morris, Christian's father. He was attracted by his mother's beauty and married her. However, after the death of his mother he became an orphan, although he has a father, still he is no less than an orphan within his house, since his so-called father is so busy with his new wife and their son Ivan. Only after his mother's death did his father's affair come to light, revealing to everyone that Mr. Morris Adams has had a secret wife and an illegitimate son for so long. For Christian, life in his own home became a hell, but he accepted his fate, "I know I can't say no, but this belongs to my mom, so I can't give up! "You think I care about your dead mom's junk if not because of my girlfriend being interested in it?" He scoffed, pressing his finger on the necklace, "I'm asking you one last time Chris, are you going to give it to me or not?" "No," Christian shook his head firmly, holding on to the necklace. Ivan was angry, he punched Christian in the face and tried to grab the necklace from Chris's neck. Christian was nearly strangled, still he tried to fight against Ivan, but he was too weak to resist his fat and strong brother. However, suddenly, an accident happened, Ivan slipped and fell down the stairs. Christian's eyes widened in shock as he watched Ivan fall down from the stairs. Ivan was very angry, he wanted to stand up and teach Christian a lesson. However, Morris' voice came from the other side. "Ivan, what happened?" Ivan suddenly showed an evil smile, and he had a better idea than making a scene. He closed his eyes and pretended to faint! "Here we go again!" Christian smiled bitterly. This was Ivan's favorite way. He would beat himself up first and then tell his father, Morris, that Christian was bullying him. In this way, Morris will punish Christian again. He knew his father would not believe anything he said, but he still walked to the end of the stairs, where Ivan was lying, pretending to faint. "Ivan!" Morris's voice echoed in the hallway, and Christian felt the ground under him stumble, as his father and Teresa, Ivan’s mother, appeared at the spot. Morris’s face was full of anger noticing Ivan laying on the floor unconscious, he immediately thought Christian is the culprit, while Teresa’s hand flew to her mouth in exaggerated shock, "oh my God! Ivan, my baby!" "What did you do to him?" Morris roared, his voice literally passed a shiver down Christian's spine, "you bastard what the hell you've done to my precious son?" Christian looked at Morris stubbornly. He knew Morris wouldn't believe him, but he still defended himself. "Ivan didn't faint at all! He fell down trying to grab my necklace, and I didn't push him! He..." "Don’t lie to me! You disgusting rouge!" Morris’s face twisted in disgust, as he slapped Christian hard across the face, sending a sharp sting through his cheek. Christian stepped back, as the harsh slap made his vision blurred and the corner of his lips started bleeding. "Morris, what do we do?" Teresa cried, holding her son's unconscious body and cried, "My poor Ivan, your son is trying to kill him out of jealousy, I and my son don't have any respect or safety in this damn house!” Christian touched his beaten face, expressionless. He had gotten used to it in the past few years. Now, he was completely disappointed with his father. No matter how he explained, he would not believe it. He only had Ivan in his eyes. Christian looked at Morris calmly and said, "Ivan is so strong compared to me, I'm weak and thin, what can I even do to him with this weak body of mine?" Morris slapped him once again, "shut up you rascal! I shouldn't have let you stay in this house after her death, you're a jinx, how dare you harm my son?" Christian stood silently, Teressa looked at him with venomous glare, "you should've died along with your mother, because of you my son is in this condition! If anything happens to my son, I'll kill you!" Morris turned to Christian, with a cold gaze, "You’re a disgrace to this house, I'm taking Ivan to the hospital, you’ll stay in the attic until I get back, you’d better think about what you’ve done and repent for your wrongdoings." "I didn't do anything, he fell down himself, why can't you understand this?" Christian tried to protest, but his father was unmoved, and just worried about Ivan, "butler, ask the driver to prepare the car immediately." Christian made one final attempt to say the truth, "father, I didn't do anything!" "Enough!" Morris shouted and grabbed Christian's arm roughly, dragged him up the stairs and through the narrow corridor to the attic. He pushed Christian inside without a second glance, slammed the door shut and locked it, Christian wanted to bang the door to shout that he is innocent as he was about to place his hand on the door, his father's words paused him, "until we are back, you're not allowed to eat or drink, unless we starve you, you'll never know your mistake." Christian heard the sound of his father's footsteps disappearing slowly, and filled with extreme silence. He collapsed on the floor leaning to the door, with a throbbing cheek and heart, as he showed a bitter smile. He knew no one would believe him, no one ever did. The hatred his father had for him felt more painful than the sting on his cheek, and the cold isolation of the attic seemed to press down on him from every direction. Time passed by minute by minute, and Christian sat in the dark attic with a blank expression. He didn't know what he had done wrong, but his mother told him to be an honest man. If he was not wrong, why should he admit it? "They’ll be back soon." he told to himself, clutching the necklace so tightly it cut into his palm. "They’ll see that Ivan is fine, and this will all be over." He still held a glimmer of hope that someone could prove his innocence and let his father know that he was not wrong. However, they left for three days! Christian just sat there stubbornly, without asking for help or shouting. Gradually, hunger and thirst made him unable to hold on any longer, and his consciousness gradually blurred, but he never thought of bowing his head and admitting the things he had never done. "I'm not wrong, I didn't push Ivan..." Even before he was about to lose consciousness, Christian still repeated stubbornly. He gradually had hallucinations in front of his eyes, as if a figure opened the door and reached out to him. "Is it... Mom? I'm not wrong, Mom... I didn't..." However, an angry voice interrupted Christian's words. "You animal! Haven't you realized your mistakes after all these days?"Expand

The Lost Heir Of Sargent THAT'S BECAUSE I'M CHARMING
••NO POV••"Huh?" Christian looked flustered after hearing to what Rosaline has said, but she was same as always, "I know you heard me well, if you don't want me to say it aloud enough for everyone to hear, then...." "Let's go," Christian immediately got up from the couch, and looked at his aunts and uncles with an awkward face, "Well, I need some rest, how about we talk later?" Charles nodded his head with a grin, "Sure... Sure, go ahead." Lowering his head, Christian went upstairs in a rush, Rosaline followed right behind him, once inside the room, Christian sat on the bed with a sigh, "Day by day you're teasing me too much, did you see the way uncle looked at me? I'm too embarrassed!" "It's not my fault," she sat beside him and softly placed her hand on his shoulder as if she was trying to overpower him, "It's you who is out of control and I should use my ways to keep you in control." Christian rolled his eyes, while muttering something deep inside.Rosaline didn’t move her h

The Lost Heir Of Sargent THEN, WHY AREN'T YOU CLOSE ANYMORE?
••NO POV••"You’ve gone quiet for so long," Amelia gently said. "Only to ask this, my boy?" Christian looked at her with an awkward face, "Well, grandma, it's just I'm not sure whether to ask or not, but I was little curious about the relationship in between Mrs. Nevermore and you, since you both spoke to each other in a very warm way, that's why I want to know more, can you tell me?" The question made Amelia pause for a few minutes. After a moment, her eyes softened with nostalgia, then dimmed with something that looked more like regret filled pain. "Oh, it’s been… more years than I can count," she said, lowering herself gracefully onto the place beside him. "We met when we were about your age, two foolish young girls in finishing school, trying to prove who could outshine the other, very independent minded, ready to achieve many things...." A faint chuckle escaped her. "She was fiery, sweet, and quick-witted... I, on the other hand, was stubborn and bold. But somehow, that worke

The Lost Heir Of Sargent I'LL BE WAITING FOR YOU ALL
"Am I here at the wrong time?"The voice automatically made everyone turn toward the doorway, and the one standing there was Mrs. Nevermore, elegant as ever, dressed in a soft silver outfit, a string of pearls glimmering faintly around her neck. Her presence always carried a quiet grace, the kind that filled a room without needing to say a word."Mrs. Nevermore!" Amelia exclaimed warmly, a smile breaking through the worry that had lingered on her face moments ago. "What a sudden surprise to find you at our home! How long has it been since we met?" The older woman returned the smile, her tone was light and affectionate. "Far too long, Mrs. Sargent, finally got time to see you, I almost thought you’d forgotten me completely.""How could I ever?" Amelia replied, gently clasping her hands. "Though we met only a few times, every time I met you, it was a wonderful moment, please, come in, you're always welcome here."Mrs. Nevermore stepped inside the grand hall, her gaze wandering fondly

The Lost Heir Of Sargent I PROMISE!
“Yeah, everything is fine!” “He can be discharged now…” A soft hum of voices stirred Christian from his deep sleep, his surroundings were no longer flickering or trembling to startle him, just bathed in the pale gold of early sunlight streaming through the large windows. For a brief second, he wondered if everything last night had been just a dream, the shadow, the red glow, the voice that called him my boy, almost everything felt unreal in the morning. He turned his head, blinking against the light, making sure he was in the same room, surprisingly Luna sat beside his bed, flipping through a set of medical papers, her hair tied loosely as a bun, while a faint yawn escaped her lips.“Good morning,” she greeted him with a bright smile. "Did you sleep well last night? Feeling uncomfortable anywhere?" Christian was calm for a minute, while Luna gently spoke, "The doctor said you're fine and we can leave now, he prescribed only a few medications since you inhaled a huge amount of smoke

The Lost Heir Of Sargent THAT AURA... IT'S HIS!
“Ummm…” Christian tried to come up with an answer but ended up being silent, while Ezra crossed his arms raising an eyebrow, “you're not normal, your mother is not by your side to guide you, if you don't allow your father as well to help you, how on earth are you planning to control this power? Only the one who has a blood relationship with you can help you… We can't be ignorant though we are very well aware of everything!” The room fell silent after Ezra’s words, his ghostly glow dimming against the cold light of the monitors.Christian sat frozen, his mind spinning. “You already know,” Ezra had said the reason Christian to consider, but how could he? How could he seek out a man who had abandoned him and his mother? He stared at the ceiling, his heartbeat going on unevenly, his thoughts running wild.“My father…” he muttered, the word heavy and frustrating on his tongue. “Why now, after all these years? I don't know what reasons he has to be away from us, still, I and my mother suff
