Chapter 1
MOM, IS THAT YOU?
"Give me your necklace, you swine!" Ivan's eyes fixed on the necklace around Christian's neck, "My girlfriend is obsessed with finding one like that and I hate to disappoint her, so just give it to me!"
Instinctively, Christian's fingers ran to the smooth edges of the silver necklace, a delicate piece with swirling patterns showed its uniqueness. A few years ago, his mother suddenly disappeared, leaving Christian with only a necklace and a note, "It will always protect you, Chris!" After investigation, the police announced that his mother was dead. Christian tightened his grip on the necklace protectively. "Of course," he thought bitterly. "Everything that is important to me will always be important to Ivan, so that he can steal it from me." But he kept his voice calm. "I can't give this to you, Ivan, it's something my mother left me, so I can't let it go." "Do you think someone like you can say no to me?" Ivan crossed his arms with a sneer, Christian knows very well about his position in this house. Around 18 years ago, his mother lost her memory and forgot who she was, when she wandering on the street, she met Morris, Christian's father. He was attracted by his mother's beauty and married her. However, after the death of his mother he became an orphan, although he has a father, still he is no less than an orphan within his house, since his so-called father is so busy with his new wife and their son Ivan. Only after his mother's death did his father's affair come to light, revealing to everyone that Mr. Morris Adams has had a secret wife and an illegitimate son for so long. For Christian, life in his own home became a hell, but he accepted his fate, "I know I can't say no, but this belongs to my mom, so I can't give up! "You think I care about your dead mom's junk if not because of my girlfriend being interested in it?" He scoffed, pressing his finger on the necklace, "I'm asking you one last time Chris, are you going to give it to me or not?" "No," Christian shook his head firmly, holding on to the necklace. Ivan was angry, he punched Christian in the face and tried to grab the necklace from Chris's neck. Christian was nearly strangled, still he tried to fight against Ivan, but he was too weak to resist his fat and strong brother. However, suddenly, an accident happened, Ivan slipped and fell down the stairs. Christian's eyes widened in shock as he watched Ivan fall down from the stairs. Ivan was very angry, he wanted to stand up and teach Christian a lesson. However, Morris' voice came from the other side. "Ivan, what happened?" Ivan suddenly showed an evil smile, and he had a better idea than making a scene. He closed his eyes and pretended to faint! "Here we go again!" Christian smiled bitterly. This was Ivan's favorite way. He would beat himself up first and then tell his father, Morris, that Christian was bullying him. In this way, Morris will punish Christian again. He knew his father would not believe anything he said, but he still walked to the end of the stairs, where Ivan was lying, pretending to faint. "Ivan!" Morris's voice echoed in the hallway, and Christian felt the ground under him stumble, as his father and Teresa, Ivan’s mother, appeared at the spot. Morris’s face was full of anger noticing Ivan laying on the floor unconscious, he immediately thought Christian is the culprit, while Teresa’s hand flew to her mouth in exaggerated shock, "oh my God! Ivan, my baby!" "What did you do to him?" Morris roared, his voice literally passed a shiver down Christian's spine, "you bastard what the hell you've done to my precious son?" Christian looked at Morris stubbornly. He knew Morris wouldn't believe him, but he still defended himself. "Ivan didn't faint at all! He fell down trying to grab my necklace, and I didn't push him! He..." "Don’t lie to me! You disgusting rouge!" Morris’s face twisted in disgust, as he slapped Christian hard across the face, sending a sharp sting through his cheek. Christian stepped back, as the harsh slap made his vision blurred and the corner of his lips started bleeding. "Morris, what do we do?" Teresa cried, holding her son's unconscious body and cried, "My poor Ivan, your son is trying to kill him out of jealousy, I and my son don't have any respect or safety in this damn house!” Christian touched his beaten face, expressionless. He had gotten used to it in the past few years. Now, he was completely disappointed with his father. No matter how he explained, he would not believe it. He only had Ivan in his eyes. Christian looked at Morris calmly and said, "Ivan is so strong compared to me, I'm weak and thin, what can I even do to him with this weak body of mine?" Morris slapped him once again, "shut up you rascal! I shouldn't have let you stay in this house after her death, you're a jinx, how dare you harm my son?" Christian stood silently, Teressa looked at him with venomous glare, "you should've died along with your mother, because of you my son is in this condition! If anything happens to my son, I'll kill you!" Morris turned to Christian, with a cold gaze, "You’re a disgrace to this house, I'm taking Ivan to the hospital, you’ll stay in the attic until I get back, you’d better think about what you’ve done and repent for your wrongdoings." "I didn't do anything, he fell down himself, why can't you understand this?" Christian tried to protest, but his father was unmoved, and just worried about Ivan, "butler, ask the driver to prepare the car immediately." Christian made one final attempt to say the truth, "father, I didn't do anything!" "Enough!" Morris shouted and grabbed Christian's arm roughly, dragged him up the stairs and through the narrow corridor to the attic. He pushed Christian inside without a second glance, slammed the door shut and locked it, Christian wanted to bang the door to shout that he is innocent as he was about to place his hand on the door, his father's words paused him, "until we are back, you're not allowed to eat or drink, unless we starve you, you'll never know your mistake." Christian heard the sound of his father's footsteps disappearing slowly, and filled with extreme silence. He collapsed on the floor leaning to the door, with a throbbing cheek and heart, as he showed a bitter smile. He knew no one would believe him, no one ever did. The hatred his father had for him felt more painful than the sting on his cheek, and the cold isolation of the attic seemed to press down on him from every direction. Time passed by minute by minute, and Christian sat in the dark attic with a blank expression. He didn't know what he had done wrong, but his mother told him to be an honest man. If he was not wrong, why should he admit it? "They’ll be back soon." he told to himself, clutching the necklace so tightly it cut into his palm. "They’ll see that Ivan is fine, and this will all be over." He still held a glimmer of hope that someone could prove his innocence and let his father know that he was not wrong. However, they left for three days! Christian just sat there stubbornly, without asking for help or shouting. Gradually, hunger and thirst made him unable to hold on any longer, and his consciousness gradually blurred, but he never thought of bowing his head and admitting the things he had never done. "I'm not wrong, I didn't push Ivan..." Even before he was about to lose consciousness, Christian still repeated stubbornly. He gradually had hallucinations in front of his eyes, as if a figure opened the door and reached out to him. "Is it... Mom? I'm not wrong, Mom... I didn't..." However, an angry voice interrupted Christian's words. "You animal! Haven't you realized your mistakes after all these days?"Expand

The Lost Heir Of Sargent RUMORS?
"Not my fault I’m just too charming," Christian let out a half-laugh, shrugging his shoulders, "Some people are born with charisma, Rose, I didn’t ask for it... it just happens naturally, you know...." Rosaline scoffed, raising an eyebrow, "So humble of you, seems like I understated you, didn't I?" He suddenly laughed trying to escape from her glance, "I try to keep my humility alive… in between being stalked, insulted, kissed, and nearly threatened with death.... No underestimation, I'm very innocent from birth." "I can see that," she muttered, opening the door to the VIP dining room, "What a busy evening for you, and the night’s not even over." Christian scratched his head not understanding what exactly she was saying, but simply got inside before she could say something crazy again. As the door to the private cabin was closed behind them, Rosaline slipped off her coat and let it fall onto the couch.Christian walked toward the table to sit, but Rosaline followed, cornering him.

The Lost Heir Of Sargent WHY IS SHE HERE?
"Who is calling me?" Christian stiffened at the familiar voice, he turned his head slowly, and his stomach dropped at the sight of the person whom he doesn't want to meet ever.Mia.She stood only a few feet away, wearing a short dress, one eyebrow lifted in amusement, or maybe accusation. Christian couldn't understand why he always run into her whenever he was out to spend some time in peace, and meeting her will always end up ruining his peaceful time.Rubbing his temples with frustration, Christian sighed inwardly, "Arghh... Why is she here? Why the hell should I run into her only to ruin my mental peace?" While Mia, her eyes flicked from Christian to Rosaline with mocking interest."Wow..." she said, voice dripping with venom, "finally you're free from that Luna now, it's not the White Lotus bitch this time... but a new woman? How many women are you going to change from time to time Chris?" Christian clenched his jaw. "And how does it bother you? Whether I change the women or s

The Lost Heir Of Sargent THANKS MS. POWER TRIP!
"Believe it or not, it's up to you," Christian said, brushing off Rosaline’s teasing smirk, "Giving explanations to you isn't my duty..." Without a word, rather than going on with their argument, she pulled something from her side, a purple velvet box. Just as Christian glanced at it with curiosity, she handed it to him casually."This is for you, I wasn't able to give it to you at the company, now I'm finally giving it to you." Christian raised a brow, opening the box to reveal a polished watch, shining, minimal, with his initials delicately engraved on the underside. But what caught his eye was the detail at the twelve mark, a single violet gem subtle, but the exact shade of Rosaline’s eyes, was embedded where the twelve should be, and at the six mark, a single blue gem was embedded, matching exact shade of his eyes. His fingers hovered over it, surprised by the thoughtfulness."For me?" He asked with a surprised face, running his fingers across the cool surface.Rosaline gave a

The Lost Heir Of Sargent WHERE DO YOU THINK?
"Wh... What do you mean by that?" Christian stammered in confusion, Rosaline said, slightly moving away from Christian, "Nothing, just a random question nothing more than that..." But Christian was annoyed because of her behaviour, grabbing her hand, he made her to face her, "Do you even realize how much your behavior affects me?"Rosaline tilted her head, and her eyes glittered. "So you are admitting I have an effect on you." Letting go of her hand, he cleared his throat awkwardly, "Yo... You don't change the topic... I'm talking about different and you're talking about different things...." Rosaline was about to say something and at the same time, the elevator dinged.Knowing that she'll not leave a chance to tease him, Christian decided to escape as soon as the door got opened, however his escape plan isn't that easy to get successful. Before he could even take a step out, Rosaline caught his wrist with her hand."You’re coming with me," she said, her voice wrapped in honey but

The Lost Heir Of Sargent HOW LONG DO YOU KNOW HER?
"Rose, didn't she leave yet?" Christian thought to himself after looking at her getting into the elevator. She didn’t speak or react, her presence was magnetic, heavy with an unreadable silence.Christian couldn't understand whether to speak or not, as the tension in between them from the morning didn't subdue yet, so he wasn't able to take initiative to speak. Then, just as the doors closed and sealed them inside, Christian pushed himself to speak, "Rose... Ummm..." And he was struck with how to continue further, she tilted her head and spoke softly as speaking harshly was something she would never."You still dare to speak after what you did in the morning?" Christian was calm, Rosaline crossed her arms, "You’re very brave, aren't you Chris? Protecting someone without knowing what she’s even hiding, what exactly are you thinking by going against everyone for her when she isn't even genuine with her?" Christian’s jaw tightened after hearing that from her, he didn’t turn to face he

The Lost Heir Of Sargent I'VE A CRUSH ON LUNA
"How can I let it go?" Andrew grinned, dramatically twirling in the chair beside Christian with a wink. "You and Luna are stuck to each other like glue, not even once I've seen you both away from each other, almost together as if you both are inseparable, if this isn’t love, then what is it?”Christian didn't even look up from his notebook, lazily flipping a page. "I can assure you, it’s not love, as I said before, there's no such thing in between us." "Why?" Andrew raised an eyebrow, "Isn't Luna a good person?" Christian sighed, "Who told you that? Luna has the best character ever, she is such a good person I've ever met, if not because of her character, how can I and she be together as friends till now? I can confidently say that there's no one who has such a great character like her." "That's amazing then!" Andrew said, "if she really has such a great character, why aren't you dating her?"Christian placing the pen down from her hands and spoke to Andrew, "both things are totall
