This is so frustrating! The story needs to move along. The play has been going on for multiple chapters and we haven't even got to see if Nicholas actually kisses Bridget. And if he does kiss her, is something bad going to happen? Personally I think Bridget is Jane and the kiss will cast a spell.
Especially when the readers are PAYING for the story. Such BS. I wonder if we can report the story to GoodReads somehow. Maybe they can actually force the author to stop jumping the shark.
