"Is this what I've been looking for?" Miralda muttered, bracing herself between the two walls pressing in on either side.

"Does this have something to do with the spell?"

A single book, wedged tightly among others, was glowing with a faint red aura. Out of the entire collection, it was the only one emitting light.

The rest were dull, lifeless—no glow, no trace of magic.

Miralda extended one hand, trying to pull the glowing book from the tightly packed shelf. But the moment she did, the walls—not just two, but all four surrounding bookshelves—began to close in on her.

Creeeeak!

Crack!

"Aaargh!"

A sickening crunch echoed through the room as both of Miralda's shoulders were forced inward from the pressure.

She knew she couldn’t stay any longer. She had to get out—now.

Reciting a quick spell, her body vanished from the hidden chamber.

Puffft!

The icy chill of the night air slammed into her like a blade as she reappeared outside. But the bitter cold did nothing to dull the pain shooting th

  • Chapter 436 - Confusion

“What the—?! Why do these buckets suddenly feel so light?”Keshab gripped the carrying pole and hoisted it over his right shoulder. He placed his own yoke on his left, balancing two massive buckets—one on each side.Oddly enough, he didn’t feel the slightest bit of strain. Not even a hint of weight pressed down on him.But just as he was about to take a step, something clicked in his mind. He turned and looked back at Miralda, who was smiling gently at him.“I knew it had to be your doing, miss. I don’t have anything to offer you right now except my heartfelt thanks.”He bowed his head—lower than usual. He might have even dropped to his knees in gratitude if he hadn’t remembered she’d asked him never to do that again. All that remained in Keshab’s heart for Miralda was deep respect and unwavering loyalty. If she asked him to leap off a cliff, he wouldn’t hesitate for a second.“There’s no need to mention it, Master Keshab,” Miralda replied calmly. “I know they’re doing this on purpose

  • Chapter 435 - Playing Dead

While Miralda clearly understood what Keshab was truly going through, Shambhu had an entirely different idea. Smirking smugly, he believed he’d taught the chubby man a valuable lesson—pushing him past his physical limits.“Serves you right for getting close to my girl,” he thought, convinced that by now, Keshab had to be running on empty.“That fat pig’s gonna drop any second now.”He was still caught up in that belief when a sudden thud echoed behind him.Thud!“Yes! Finally!”Shambhu grinned ear to ear. Hearing something fall, he was absolutely certain it had to be one of the guys walking behind him. And since the weakest among them was undeniably Keshab, there was no doubt in his mind who had hit the ground.“Told you you’d collapse eventually!”Shambhu was practically cheering inside. His little mission of petty revenge had finally paid off. But his glee was short-lived.“Brother, please stop for a moment. I think Tirtha’s really exhausted.”Ujwal knelt beside Tirtha, who was spra

  • Chapter 434 - A Change in Keshab’s Strength

"I'm imagining things, right? This can't actually be happening to me... can it?"Keshab couldn’t believe what his body was feeling. Or rather, he was too shocked to make sense of it.After all, just moments ago, he was on the verge of collapsing from sheer exhaustion—and now, he felt the exact opposite."How is my body suddenly this strong? This energized?"He didn’t just feel lighter on his feet—faster and more agile—but even the two massive wooden buckets hanging from his shoulder felt like they had no weight at all. Incredibly light."Am I hallucinating?"He couldn’t slap his own cheek to check—both hands were gripping the yoke on his shoulders. Instead, he kept shaking his head, trying to snap himself out of what he feared was a delusion. It wasn’t just paranoia. Deep down, Keshab was terrified that maybe he’d already fainted—or worse, was on the brink of death—and his mind was playing tricks on him in its final moments. But no matter how hard he shook his head, the sensation neve

  • Chapter 433 - A Silent Revenge

"So? What do you think, Miss Miralda? Was my answer right?"Keshab scratched his head, clearly hoping he’d gotten it correct. But Miralda simply burst into laughter, shaking her head."Close," she said with a playful grin, "but still not quite right. The real answer is—"Before she could finish her sentence, Shambhu's voice suddenly rang out from up ahead, loud and laced with irritation."Grab your buckets. We’re moving out."He didn’t bother repeating himself. In fact, he didn’t even slow down, let alone glance back to check if the others were ready. It was obvious he had no intention of waiting."Miss Miralda, I think we better hurry," Keshab said quickly, slinging his two buckets back over his shoulders. He didn’t comment on Shambhu’s attitude, but his hurried movements made it clear: if they didn’t catch up soon, Shambhu would leave them behind. The four of them scrambled to follow Shambhu, who was now walking even faster than before. It didn’t take long for the three men trailing

  • Chapter 432 - A Riddle

"I have to beat him up!"Shambhu, who had just sat down on a rock, shot back to his feet, seething with rage. Watching Miralda laugh and joke around with Keshab made his blood boil. Right then and there, he felt like killing the fat man."I swear, I’m going to kill him!"Thankfully, Tirtha noticed the sudden change in Shambhu’s demeanor. He quickly stood and stepped in to calm him down."Please, Brother, stop. You have to keep your emotions in check. I’m begging you—just hold on a little longer until we get the right opportunity."Tirtha had already come up with a plan to eliminate Keshab for good: lure the chubby man deep into the forest and then push him off the edge of a mountainside. With his massive body, there was no way Keshab could save himself. If he slipped and fell, he’d be done for. Tirtha was sure of it."If we can’t take the alternate trail," Tirtha had said earlier to Shambhu and Ujwal, "then we have to make the most of what the main route gives us."Initially, they’d c

  • Chapter 431 - Miralda, Full of Surprises

Shambhu led the way, walking along a narrow path—barely a meter and a half wide—the only comfortable route through the dense terrain. But as they progressed, a dull ache began to creep into their shoulders.“Miss Miralda, how are you holding up so far?”Keshab turned around to check on the young woman. He asked out of genuine concern, though mostly because he himself was growing tired. In his mind, if he was already feeling drained, surely she must be, too.But when his eyes fell on Miralda, they widened in shock.“W-what the...”Keshab was speechless. The girl he was worried about didn’t look the least bit fatigued.Miralda walked calmly and effortlessly, as if she were enjoying a leisurely stroll. There wasn’t a hint of strain or exhaustion on her face.“Is she even human?” Keshab wondered, utterly stunned. “I don’t think she’s even broken a sweat.”He couldn’t begin to guess what kind of technique she might be using. While he was practically drenched in sweat, she looked completely
