Upon entering the master bedroom, Richards immediately spotted Hannah sitting on the floor.

She had a large bust, long legs, a slender waist, and full hips; her face was both alluring and seductive.

Richards had seen many such beauties. He stared at her for a long time before finally looking away from her perfectly legitimate gaze and throwing himself onto the soft bed.

"Before the wedding, seeing how eager you were, I thought your whole family was very fond of me." Before Hannah, who was offended by the gaze, could lash out, Richards struck first. Richards felt deceived and complained. "So, apart from you, none of them like me."

Hannah didn't reply.

Exhaling a breath of stale air, Richards turned over and said, "To be honest, the way you've put me in a very passive position, I don't even know how to manage this marriage anymore."

Hannah's mature face was icy cold as she said in a chilling voice, "If you can't run it, then don't. Just divorce me, and we can go our separate ways."

"Can you stop acting like a resentful woman? If I could divorce you, would you even be allowed into the Smiths family?" Richards couldn't help but glance at Hannah's voluptuous, peach-like body, and said with a sneer. "Who can't see the look of disgust in my eyes when I look at you?"

Hannah was so angry that her hands and feet turned cold, and she gritted her teeth.

"Alright, things have come to this point. What's the use of infighting?" Richards waved his hand and said cautiously. "If we want a smooth divorce in the future, we must form a united front and share resources."

After a moment of silence, Richards asked, "Why do you insist on marrying me? Judging from your family's attitude towards me, they seem to be more opposed to this marriage than you are."

Hearing Richards's words, Hannah gradually calmed down. The marriage was already done even if she didn't want to, so there's no point in holding back her anger and feeling depressed. Adjusting her mindset, Hannah said calmly, "My grandmother hasn't eaten for two days in an effort to force me to get married."

Richards frowned and carefully examined Hannah's alluring body: "Does she have some unspeakable ailment? Or is she seriously ill and not long for this world?"

"You're the one who's sick!" Hannah's recently calmed emotions surged again.

"That doesn't make sense," Richards said incredulously. "I'm just a cook, and I only became a squad leader after retiring. Your Harrison family is a top-tier wealthy family in Birmingham, and you're about as good-looking as any model. Is the old lady really going to threaten you with suicide? Is she that afraid you won't be able to get married?"

"Grandma said that as long as she's alive, the Harrison family can't do anything dishonest. Unless you break off the engagement, I have to marry you." Hannah glanced sideways at Richards. "And you? Why do you want to marry me?"

The atmosphere in the room gradually became peaceful.

Richards lay quietly on the bed, his dark eyes staring at the mottled ceiling: "I lost both my parents when I was young. My aunt raised me with great difficulty. Although she is only five years older than me and we are not related by blood, she is still all alone and her health is getting worse and worse in order to raise me. My aunt's greatest wish is to see me get married, start a family, and carry on the Smiths family line. I can't bear to make her sad."

A flicker of emotion crossed Hannah's eyes, but she said indifferently, "Even if you marry me, you still won't fulfill your aunt's wish."

“That’s why I’m telling you in advance. Even while we’re married, I won’t stop pursuing true love. I can’t let my aunt down.” Richards exhaled a breath and pursed her lips. “As for our agreed marriage, consider it a way to satisfy my aunt. Let’s make her happy as long as possible.”

Hannah wanted to curse, but considering that Richards had good intentions, she held back.

Tonight, the two of them were quite frank with each other. As long as they cooperated tacitly in the future, divorce was only a matter of time.

At least that's what Hannah thinks.

"You saw what happened downstairs just now, didn't you?" In the darkness, Richards suddenly spoke up and asked.

"Hmm," Hannah responded faintly.

"Don't go around telling everyone about my brother-in-law being beaten," Richards said. "We're all family."

"If you don't tell, no one will know," Hannah frowned. But she finally believed what Richards had said when they first met; he did indeed have a connection with General Smiths. Otherwise, why would those elite Northern Confederate troops go to such lengths for a cook? She reckoned it was all about nostalgia.

“What I mean is, you can’t even tell your family,” Richards said meaningfully. “If they know I have such strong connections in Northern Confederate, it will be detrimental to our divorce.”

In the darkness, a complex light flickered in Hannah's bright eyes. After a long silence, she said, slowly and deliberately. "My family isn't that snobbish."

“Yes, your family are all saints,” Richards said abruptly.

Hannah closed her beautiful eyes, ignoring Richards's teasing. She gently turned over, but her brows furrowed involuntarily. The mattress was too hard; it hurt her hips even when she turned over.

A few minutes later, a snoring sound like an electric drill suddenly came from beside the bed. Richards had already fallen asleep while she wasn't paying attention.

Well, the noise from the construction site just stopped, and this guy is already starting to unleash his power.

She pushed open the door and came out. Her beautiful eyes merely glanced at the man before turning to Richards: "Is there something you need?""You know him?"
