GENESIS OF TROUBLE

Behind the big gates of Redwood Correctional Facility, an old man knelt down steadily with a wide smile on his face, his face dripping with sweat from the effect of the sun.

Reginald Frost, the billionaire founder of RegiFrost Enterprises, a big conglomerate, knelt on the ground at the main entrance of the facility with a small bag in his hand, waiting patiently for somebody.

Desperate for a miracle, he had heard about a divine doctor in Redwood Correctional Facility who had cured a patient with the same illness as his.

The day before today, he learnt that this divine doctor, Ethan Stone, was done serving his sentence and was going to be released today, and so he came, just so he could meet him.

Thankfully, a prison guard came to tell him that the doctor had just completed his discharge requirements and was coming out any moment from now.

Ethan walked out of the prison gates, stretching his arms and taking a deep breath of the air that met him outside.

He had finally tasted freedom after three cruel years

He was going back home to his normal life, to meet his wife and live happily ever after

Three years ago, he had taken the blame for his wife's crime and ended up behind bars.

His wife had killed a man, and he was the first person to come to the scene.

Ethan knew his wife was going to be imprisoned if the police got to the scene, and so, in a bid to save his wife, Ethan took the blame and claimed he had unintentionally killed the man while defending himself.

Due to his plea, he was sentenced to three years in prison with hard labour, and finally, after waiting for so long, he was finally out.

His wife had only come to visit him for the first few months, never to see her again.

Ethan could not wait to meet his wife again.

He was sure he was now going to live a good life.

Ethan made his way out of the small gate, coming to the compound. He had to make his way to the main gate before he could finally say he had exited the place.

He was expecting his wife to be there to welcome him and take him out. However, there was no one around.

“Maybe she is at the main gate,” Ethan thought to himself as he walked

As he made his way out, a limited edition of the newest Maserati car dove in and stopped right in front of Ethan, making him stop in his tracks.

A young lady emerged from the car and faced Ethan with a straight face.

It took Ethan a few seconds to realise who the lady was: his wife!!!

Ethan was delighted; his wife was now more beautiful than ever, and he had not seen her in years.

“AVA!!” Ethan exclaimed happily with glee as he walked closer to her with a wide smile on his face, quickening his steps.

“Stop!!” Ava said with a frown as she sized Ethan up with disgust.

Ethan stopped in his tracks. The look on Ava was nothing to write home about, and she looked like she was disgusted by his looks.

He looked at his body. He was dirty, and his face was unshaven, yet he feigned a smile.

He thought that was the reason why Ava asked him to stop.

Although he was disappointed, he kept his calm

“Okay, I understand. Let's go home. I have to wash down,” Ethan said.

“We are not going anywhere, Ethan. I knew you would be released today, and I came here to tell you something. I WANT A DIVORCE!” Ava exclaimed.

Ethan's eyes widened in shock as his wife's words hit him like a tonne of bricks.

“Divorce? How could she even think of that after all they had been through?” He felt like he had been punched in the gut, and his mind raced with questions.

"What...what are you talking about?" he stammered, trying to process what he had just heard.

His wife sighed.

"I've moved on, Ethan. I've found someone else. Someone who can provide for me, someone who is successful, someone who isn't a prisoner!"

Ethan felt a wave of anger wash over him, but he pushed it down, trying to remain calm.

"So, you're just going to leave me like this? After everything I've done for you? . I spent three years of my life in jail because of you, and all you could do is ask for a divorce?" Ethan asked.

He was still in shock with what he had just heard from Ava

His eyes turned soft right at that moment.

Ava shrugged, her eyes cold.

"You made your choices, Ethan. You chose to take the fall for me, to go to prison for me. I'm grateful, but I'm not bound to you by obligation. I deserve better, and I've found it.”

Ethan did not know what to do or say.

“What have I done to deserve this, Ava?” Ethan asked, a sense of emotion lingering in his masculine voice.

His voice was now softer, in disappointment

“I think you don't have any access to newspapers in prison. You would know who I am now.

Let me spare you the time. In case you want to know. I am the CEO of Avish Beauty. Yes! The biggest beauty firm in the country is worth billions of dollars, and with your criminal records, you don't deserve to be with me, so I want a divorce,” Ava said with a devilish grin

Ethan’s heart was pierced and shattered into pieces.

Ethan felt like his world was crumbling around him, noiselessly.

He had given up everything for this woman, and now she was just discarding him like trash. He took a step back, feeling a sense of betrayal and hurt that he had never felt before.

He could feel his whole body go numb for a second.

“Divorce?!” He murmured to himself in disbelief

ANOTHER PIECE OF EVIDENCE“Thank you, Mr Ethan. However, you didn't answer the parts on the state you found Keziah in before you started your treatment with her.” Mr David asked him, trying to pinpoint where he had skipped in his narration. Ethan quickly realised his mistake. “Oh, sorry. I forgot about that. The state I found her in was very bad. She was almost like a corpse. She lay on the bed flat and could not move by herself. The only part of her body she could move was her eyes. And she could only move them slowly when people entered her room or when people approached her. She could not move her hands, feet or any other part of the body apart from her eyes. She was being fed through a tube that was connected from her mouth through to her throat. That sent her food down to her stomach. She wore a diaper to be able to hold her faecal matter and urine until she was changed, as she could not control her bowel muscles. She was being taken care of by an assigned private nurse who

THE ILLEGAL DOCTORThe place remained totally quiet as Mr David sat down and the judge noted some things on his paper. Everybody waited for him to speak and to give their order on what next they were supposed to do. After about two minutes of waiting silently for the judge to speak, he finally looked up at the audience and spoke. He began by heaving a heavy sigh and picking up his gavel. “Ladies and gentlemen, this has been an intense one. A lot of the evidence has been submitted and this cause needs to critically look at it. However, we do not have a lot of time on our side so we will proceed with the remaining witnesses and see what you can achieve within the remaining time you have. May we have the second witness from the plaintiff, please?” Judge Grant said.Mr David stood up enthusiastically and spoke. “Your honour I would like to call into the witness box Mr Ethan Stone, also known as Doctor Ethan. The doctor who healed my client of her ailments when she was paralysed but b

FINALLY EXPOSEDThe courtroom fell silent for a minute as Mr David took his seat. It was almost as if everyone was trying to process what had just happened. Even the judge was quiet as he noted something vigorously on a piece of paper in front of him. When he was finally done, he looked up at the audience and began speaking. “Alright, you may take your seat, Mr Eddy. There has been an intense moment here in the court. And I kind of like how this is going. Now, before we proceed with this case, I would like to have a view of the CCTV footage together with everyone here in the court. I will hand this pen drive over to the technical team right here for them to show us what exactly is on the pen drive. So, technical team, please set up your tools and get this pen drive playing.” He said it as a signal to a guy in the corner. The moment he finished speaking, the two TVs right behind the judge, positioned clearly for the audience to see, came to life. A third one in the middle of the

PIN YOU DOWN“...During the Period of dating between you and Ms Keziah Anderson, did you ever go to her house, in the presence or absence of her parents?” Mr David asked him.“Yes, I had gone there once or twice to see her,” Eddy replied.“I see, so in that case, what really stopped you from using that same opportunity to go see her when you tried reaching out to her and she was not reachable?Don't you think it would have been better to go see her in person, just like you were doing when you were dating?” Mr David asked him.“I don't know, but I didn't think of that. I just thought she had just cut me off and I just respected her decision.” Eddy respondedMr David smiled and turned to the judge.“Your honour, have no further questions but before I take my seat, I would like to point out a few things to the court. The first i have here is a fact that Mr Eddy here is trying to hide from this court.Your honour, I would like for it to be on record that, the facial Ventures was declared

TIME TO CRACK THE NUTSThe lawyer smiled.“We have the answer now.It is clear that my client owned the place, as he had said earlier, and the prosecution was only trying to fabricate lies and connect my client with a crime he had no idea of,” Lawyer Ryan said.“I have no further questions,” he added, making his way to his seat.Judge Grant nodded in agreement. “All right. Now may the prosecution also approach the bench and ask their questions, if they have any,” Judge Grant said, motioning to Mr David.Mr David stood up and approached the witness box, ready to ask Eddy some questions.“Mr Eddy…” he began.“You say that you own the place, as stated to be owned by Facial Ventures, claiming you are the CEO of Facial Ventures and that the house still belongs to you. Did I get that right?” he asked.Eddy nodded.“Of course, it is mine,” Eddy responded.“Great.Your honour, let me state clearly that the assertion that Mr Eddy here owns that place is a blatant lie.Mr Eddy was just a shareh

He stood in the witness box and was handed a Bible. He repeated the words of the oath from the clerk, and when he was done, the Bible was taken from him. He mounted the box properly, waiting to be interrogated by his own lawyer.“Mr Eddy Blankson…” Lawyer Ryan began his cross-examination in the court.“...I have quite a few questions for you. The first three or four questions will demand simple, short answers: 'yes' or 'no'.I would like you to give straightforward answers to those questions. After that, I will ask you a narrative question, and I will expect you to tell me the truth and nothing but the truth, as you have sworn. Now, let me begin with my first question. Is it true that you dated Miss Keziah Anderson at some point? Yes or no?” Lawyer Ryan asked him.Eddy
