GENESIS OF TROUBLE

Behind the big gates of Redwood Correctional Facility, an old man knelt down steadily with a wide smile on his face, his face dripping with sweat from the effect of the sun.

Reginald Frost, the billionaire founder of RegiFrost Enterprises, a big conglomerate, knelt on the ground at the main entrance of the facility with a small bag in his hand, waiting patiently for somebody.

Desperate for a miracle, he had heard about a divine doctor in Redwood Correctional Facility who had cured a patient with the same illness as his.

The day before today, he learnt that this divine doctor, Ethan Stone, was done serving his sentence and was going to be released today, and so he came, just so he could meet him.

Thankfully, a prison guard came to tell him that the doctor had just completed his discharge requirements and was coming out any moment from now.

Ethan walked out of the prison gates, stretching his arms and taking a deep breath of the air that met him outside.

He had finally tasted freedom after three cruel years

He was going back home to his normal life, to meet his wife and live happily ever after

Three years ago, he had taken the blame for his wife's crime and ended up behind bars.

His wife had killed a man, and he was the first person to come to the scene.

Ethan knew his wife was going to be imprisoned if the police got to the scene, and so, in a bid to save his wife, Ethan took the blame and claimed he had unintentionally killed the man while defending himself.

Due to his plea, he was sentenced to three years in prison with hard labour, and finally, after waiting for so long, he was finally out.

His wife had only come to visit him for the first few months, never to see her again.

Ethan could not wait to meet his wife again.

He was sure he was now going to live a good life.

Ethan made his way out of the small gate, coming to the compound. He had to make his way to the main gate before he could finally say he had exited the place.

He was expecting his wife to be there to welcome him and take him out. However, there was no one around.

“Maybe she is at the main gate,” Ethan thought to himself as he walked

As he made his way out, a limited edition of the newest Maserati car dove in and stopped right in front of Ethan, making him stop in his tracks.

A young lady emerged from the car and faced Ethan with a straight face.

It took Ethan a few seconds to realise who the lady was: his wife!!!

Ethan was delighted; his wife was now more beautiful than ever, and he had not seen her in years.

“AVA!!” Ethan exclaimed happily with glee as he walked closer to her with a wide smile on his face, quickening his steps.

“Stop!!” Ava said with a frown as she sized Ethan up with disgust.

Ethan stopped in his tracks. The look on Ava was nothing to write home about, and she looked like she was disgusted by his looks.

He looked at his body. He was dirty, and his face was unshaven, yet he feigned a smile.

He thought that was the reason why Ava asked him to stop.

Although he was disappointed, he kept his calm

“Okay, I understand. Let's go home. I have to wash down,” Ethan said.

“We are not going anywhere, Ethan. I knew you would be released today, and I came here to tell you something. I WANT A DIVORCE!” Ava exclaimed.

Ethan's eyes widened in shock as his wife's words hit him like a tonne of bricks.

“Divorce? How could she even think of that after all they had been through?” He felt like he had been punched in the gut, and his mind raced with questions.

"What...what are you talking about?" he stammered, trying to process what he had just heard.

His wife sighed.

"I've moved on, Ethan. I've found someone else. Someone who can provide for me, someone who is successful, someone who isn't a prisoner!"

Ethan felt a wave of anger wash over him, but he pushed it down, trying to remain calm.

"So, you're just going to leave me like this? After everything I've done for you? . I spent three years of my life in jail because of you, and all you could do is ask for a divorce?" Ethan asked.

He was still in shock with what he had just heard from Ava

His eyes turned soft right at that moment.

Ava shrugged, her eyes cold.

"You made your choices, Ethan. You chose to take the fall for me, to go to prison for me. I'm grateful, but I'm not bound to you by obligation. I deserve better, and I've found it.”

Ethan did not know what to do or say.

“What have I done to deserve this, Ava?” Ethan asked, a sense of emotion lingering in his masculine voice.

His voice was now softer, in disappointment

“I think you don't have any access to newspapers in prison. You would know who I am now.

Let me spare you the time. In case you want to know. I am the CEO of Avish Beauty. Yes! The biggest beauty firm in the country is worth billions of dollars, and with your criminal records, you don't deserve to be with me, so I want a divorce,” Ava said with a devilish grin

Ethan’s heart was pierced and shattered into pieces.

Ethan felt like his world was crumbling around him, noiselessly.

He had given up everything for this woman, and now she was just discarding him like trash. He took a step back, feeling a sense of betrayal and hurt that he had never felt before.

He could feel his whole body go numb for a second.

“Divorce?!” He murmured to himself in disbelief

BACK TO COURTFRIDAY MORNING, REDWOOD AIRPORTMr David and Ethan were walking on the runway, heading towards the stairs of the aeroplane to board it.They were busily having a conversation as they boarded the plane.“So. I have been able to draft something. I will perfect it when the plane moves and then I will submit it in the court during the hearing. With the severeness of the case, I know it is going to result in the lawyer being fined and punished by the court, and being taken off the case.” Mr David explained to Ethan as they got into the plane. They headed straight to sit in the first class cabin where their seats had been assigned. They discussed throughout the entire flight until they landed and checked out at the airport at Dome.Heir chauffeur was already waiting for them when they arrived. We are here to speak to you, please,” the man, Ernest, said.Ethan walked back inside and instructed them to come in, and they followed.Right at the path to the entrance of the house, Ethan stood there, trying to engage them.“I am sorry, but I do not know you by any chance, and I am not expecting you either.Who are you, please?” Ethan asked them“My name is Ernest Allswell, and this is my wife, Sarah. THE UNKNOWN VISITOREthan smiled widely“Once again I appreciate your kindness and your willingness to do something return for your health. However, like I said, I prefer that all that money go to charity.I have nothing that I wish for, because I am doing well, thankfully. For the amount spent on flights and transportation, I did not even realise that money. I don't pay for flights; I have cards that cover that, and I don't buy fuel either, so technically nothing is lost.I don't need anything. I want all that money to be channelled to charity. I am very good with that, and I will be more than glad if you do this for me.” Ethan explained to the astonishment of Jake and his father, Mr Andy. The two looked at each other in surprise. “Okay, Doctor. That will be done. But I still think you should take the money, or at least something, as a token.Anyways, I am sure I am going to do the donation within the course of the week, but that being said, I am very grateful for your help, and

They have all the needed information; the investigators will handle the rest.Unless, of course, any of the suspects raises an issue that has to do with you and the court needs clearer information, or I am representing and I want us to pin more on them. These two scenarios may warrant you being in the witness box again, but I think this will be unlikely.” Mr David explained to him. They got into their chauffeur, and the driver drove.Thankfully, Ethan had booked the return flight on a two-hour interval from the first flight, knowing the court session was not going to last that longThe flight was just a few minutes away.Mr David was returning to Redwood, and Ethan was taking a flight to the Cley Islands instead.Ethan’s flight was moving first, and so he was the first to board his flight, leaving Mr David behind in the VIP lounge. In just about forty minutes, Ethan was

THE CALLAfter he dropped the call, he simply imagined what was going on at that moment with Julius. He had successfully been able to establish his dominance by not doing anything and had succeeded in scaring the hell out of Julius. Now he was sure Julius was going to back down for a while, giving him enough time to do justice to Ava, Jake and their accomplices properly before focusing again on the the next.Ethan heaved a sigh. His phone beeped again. He thought it was Julius calling again and decided not to answer, but when he checked the phone, he realised it was Ralphael calling instead.“Hello,” Ethan said when he answered the call.“Hello, sir. I was still in the meeting with the clients; that was why I could not answer the phone,” Raphael said.“Oh yes. I realised you might still be in the meeting by then.
