HOOKUP WITH A STRANGER

Ethan stretched lazily on the bed with his eyes closed.

He could feel his whole body relax calmly, but then he felt a soft hand in his palm.

Ethan squeezed the palm with a reflex, and a scream startled him, making him jump up and sit straight on the bed.

Ethan turned to see whose scream startled him and saw a lay lying right beside him.

He looked around him in shock, trying to recollect his environment.

He finally looked at the lady lying beside him.

The lady was a beauty. All his life, Ethan thought his wife was the most beautiful woman, but this lady beside him was extraordinarily beautiful.

If he were to compare this lady to Ava, Ava was nothing to write home about.

While Ethan was still engrossed thinking about the woman in comparison with Ava, the lady kicked him hard, causing him to flinch and jump on the bed

The kick immediately brought back memories to Ethan.

He could remember going to the bar for a drink to wipe away his sorrows, getting drunk, and getting a drink spilt on him.

He went to the washroom to clean himself, and while he was returning, a woman threw herself at him

The memories flashed through his mind at once, and it was very evident that it was the same woman beside him now.

Now, it was the lady’s turn to be surprised to see herself with a man.

Looking at the man with facial hair covering his whole face, she was scared and began retreating slowly, clutching the sheets to cover her body as she shifted to one side of her bed.

“Who are you, and why are you on my bed with me?” The lady asked in surprise, covering herself with the blanket.

Ethan looked at her with a serious face, fumbling for words

“Errm, I can't really tell, though, but it looks like we were both at the bar yesterday. I remember you came to me, and we both came here, but we were both drunk to a stupor.”

Ethan tried to explain from the little he could remember

The lady seemed unconvinced by Ethan’s explanation.

She was looking at her surroundings in shock and stole glances at the strange man beside him, who was telling him tales.

Then she also remembered her previous night's experience and began talking, trying to link it with what Ethan had just said.

“I remember getting into a bar after work to cool down a bit, and I also remember being drunk at the bar and coming to meet someone. The man drugged me, and I did not know that early on, until I almost passed out.

I tried to escape by going to the washroom, and I remember meeting someone, but I don't remember anything else,” the woman said thoughtfully as she also tried to recall what happened

Ethan listened attentively.

He had finally been able to connect the dots.

“I think I was the man. When I brought you here, you told me to escort you in, and I did, and then you made the move. well… I could not refuse… and… well…” Ethan said softly, with a shrug and a voice of regret.

He felt pity for the lady

Hearing her story, it was as if he had taken advantage of her.

The lady looked so traumatised and could not speak anymore

Ethan could not speak either and was only with a sad face and a regretful face.

Memories of all that happened the previous night suddenly flashed through his mind, and now, he could remember every single scene vividly.

“I am sorry that that happened. I was not myself, and I could not resist. I can't actually take the blame because you made the first move.” Ethan said, trying to sound as polite as he could.

His words made the Lady nearly laugh.

Thinking of herself as the CEO, she slept with this weird-looking guy beside him. It was awkward for her, but the deed had already been done, and there was nothing she could do.

“What is your name?” Ethan finally asked the lady

“Emily," the lady simply replied. She hinted at a bit of surprise that Ethan did not know her and did not hide it.

“You mean to say you don't know me?” Emily asked Ethan, who shook his head in the negative.

Emily thanked her stars. At least the strange man didn't even know who she was.

She was known by all, but somehow, this man did not even know her, and that only meant she was in luck.

She had to protect herself, and whatever happened was supposed to be kept in the dark. If this got to the public, she was going to be in the headlines for a week, and that would affect her and her business drastically.

"That is okay, but I need to warn you: whatever happened between us should stay here, and no other soul must know about this. If this goes out, I will make sure you are doomed in this city before I am.” Emily threatened Ethan.

She rubbed her hands in her hair in despair as she looked around the room one more time.

She looked very serious, and Ethan saw that easily. Although Ethan did not know who this woman was, he was sure from the way she spoke that she was a very popular person and was only trying to protect her integrity, and so he agreed.

“Okay, there is no problem with that. ” Ethan assured Emily

“Now get out of here!!” Emily said with a strict face.

Ethan obeyed at once, quite stunned by the woman's sudden outburst. He picked his clothes up from the ground and quickly wore them and then walked out of the room.

Ethan walked to the entrance of the hotel. As he looked around, thinking about where he was going to go, his phone beeped.

Checking the phone, he saw a text from Ava telling him to go deal with the final document for their divorce tomorrow.

Ethan became frustrated.

It was as if he were now some sort of monster.

He had come out of jail in less than twenty-four hours, and two women had already rejected him.

It was as though he was now wearing a mask.

Ethan walked away from the hotel, making his way home.

He hadn't walked a few metres when a brand-new Bentley stopped right in front of him, making him stop.

Ethan was already frustrated and was now angry with whoever the driver of the car was.

Before he could say jack, a middle-aged man got out of the car.

The man had a fierce look and wore a very strict face.

Ethan did not know who the man was, but the man came straight to him as if they knew each other.

Ethan was confused.

The man bowed to Ethan respectfully.

“Good morning, your majesty. I am Thomas. I was sent to come pick you up.” The strange man introduced himself.
