THE TURNTABLES

He knew he was easily going to be allowed in because he knew a lot of the big men in the city, most of whom had come to him for treatment while he was in prison.

After all that Ava had done to him, giving her a little payback would not hurt.

Ethan went to sit back down on his armchair with a wicked grin on his face.

He looked around him and smiled.

This was not the way he had imagined his life to become.

On the day he was sentenced to jail, he thought his life was over, but with the assurance of Ava, he believed he still had a companion and a backbone.

On the day he came out of prison, he knew he was back to freedom and was going to enjoy a new life with his wife, not knowing that Ava was bound to betray her this way.

When he was taking the fall for her, he did it out of love, but Ava paid him back with evil.

Up until now, Ethan had no idea who that dead man was, and Ava never explained anything to him.

His only hope was that he was going to know the whole truth once he was out of prison, but he was apparently wrong.

Blinded by love, he had done the unthinkable and paid for the sins of his lover, and here he was. Now he was all alone, abandoned by the woman he claimed to have loved.

Ethan smiled to himself.

“At least the term I served has taught me a lot of things and has also made me a millionaire,” he thought to himself.

He stood up with his wine glass and the newspaper and walked inside.

A few minutes later, Ethan walked to his car parked in front of the house.

He had to go attend to one of his patients, Mr Blackwood's brother.

NEXT DAY AT THE LAUNCHING CEREMONY FOR THE WINSOR GROUP.

Ethan drove to the front of the big event hall in his car

It was in a big hotel that was meant for only top-class people in the society.

Ethan stopped exactly where the parking valet told him to and got out of the car.

He handed the valet his car keys and a hundred-dollar bill as a tip for him.

The valet smiled and bowed a little to show his sign of respect.

Ethan wore a black tuxedo suit and black shoes.

His face was neatly trimmed, with a low haircut and a nicely shaped moustache and beard, and his masculinity had been revealed, far from his appearance on the day of his release.

He wore a nice smile on his face as he walked to the entrance of the hotel.

“Doctor Ethan,” someone called from his back.

Ethan stopped in his tracks and turned around with a smile.

“At least someone recognises me; this is going to be easy.” Ethan thought to himself as he turned to look at the one who called out to him.

A middle-aged Man who looked like an important person, judging from his bodyguard, approached Ethan eagerly with a smile on his face

As he got closer, Ethan immediately recognised who the man was.

He was one of the people who had visited him in prison to have their disease cured. The man was also a businessman and the owner of a law firm, a lawyer.

Ethan smiled and exchanged handshakes with the man.

“Hey David, How is it going with you? You look good.” Ethan said with a wide smile on his face.

David smiled and nodded.

“Thank you, man. All thanks to you, now I am healed. I wouldn't have been here if not for your help. I am eternally grateful. I didn't know you were out already; I would have come to see you,” David said with a smile.

“Nice to hear this. I just came back about three days ago,” Ethan replied with a smile.

“That's great. And you are looking so handsome in that suit. I can see you are going in already. Let’s walk together then,” David said as he gestured towards the hall.

Ethan nodded and moved along with him.

David's bodyguards were following them closely behind, and Ethan couldn't help but smile as he had a feeling of what it felt like to be powerful.

The hall was already filled with people.

There were ushers all around, directing people who didn't know where they were supposed to be.

The ushers, on seeing David and Ethan, all saluted in respect. Ethan knew that it was for the lawyer, David, but he smiled along.

Soon, they were in the VIP lounge with some other important guests who had come for the party. Ethan met another man he knew, Chris. He had healed him too, and he was in the fashion business. He was also a well-known and famous young man.

David and Chris began introducing Ethan to their friends. All the men there were big businessmen in various industries, and hearing that Ethan was a very good doctor, as hailed by David and Chris, they all exchanged pleasantries and got talking with him.

As Ethan began feeling welcomed and relaxed among the people, he heard two familiar female voices from behind him.

Ethan knew exactly who the voices were.

“Excuse me, gentlemen.” One of the voices said softly from behind, and all the men turned around to see who the voice belonged to.

Ethan turned around with a wide grin and smiled.

Both ladies stopped in their tracks and directed their gazes to Ethan directly.

“Ethan!!” Both ladies exclaimed at the same time.

ANOTHER PIECE OF EVIDENCE“Thank you, Mr Ethan. However, you didn't answer the parts on the state you found Keziah in before you started your treatment with her.” Mr David asked him, trying to pinpoint where he had skipped in his narration. Ethan quickly realised his mistake. “Oh, sorry. I forgot about that. The state I found her in was very bad. She was almost like a corpse. She lay on the bed flat and could not move by herself. The only part of her body she could move was her eyes. And she could only move them slowly when people entered her room or when people approached her. She could not move her hands, feet or any other part of the body apart from her eyes. She was being fed through a tube that was connected from her mouth through to her throat. That sent her food down to her stomach. She wore a diaper to be able to hold her faecal matter and urine until she was changed, as she could not control her bowel muscles. She was being taken care of by an assigned private nurse who

THE ILLEGAL DOCTORThe place remained totally quiet as Mr David sat down and the judge noted some things on his paper. Everybody waited for him to speak and to give their order on what next they were supposed to do. After about two minutes of waiting silently for the judge to speak, he finally looked up at the audience and spoke. He began by heaving a heavy sigh and picking up his gavel. “Ladies and gentlemen, this has been an intense one. A lot of the evidence has been submitted and this cause needs to critically look at it. However, we do not have a lot of time on our side so we will proceed with the remaining witnesses and see what you can achieve within the remaining time you have. May we have the second witness from the plaintiff, please?” Judge Grant said.Mr David stood up enthusiastically and spoke. “Your honour I would like to call into the witness box Mr Ethan Stone, also known as Doctor Ethan. The doctor who healed my client of her ailments when she was paralysed but b

FINALLY EXPOSEDThe courtroom fell silent for a minute as Mr David took his seat. It was almost as if everyone was trying to process what had just happened. Even the judge was quiet as he noted something vigorously on a piece of paper in front of him. When he was finally done, he looked up at the audience and began speaking. “Alright, you may take your seat, Mr Eddy. There has been an intense moment here in the court. And I kind of like how this is going. Now, before we proceed with this case, I would like to have a view of the CCTV footage together with everyone here in the court. I will hand this pen drive over to the technical team right here for them to show us what exactly is on the pen drive. So, technical team, please set up your tools and get this pen drive playing.” He said it as a signal to a guy in the corner. The moment he finished speaking, the two TVs right behind the judge, positioned clearly for the audience to see, came to life. A third one in the middle of the

PIN YOU DOWN“...During the Period of dating between you and Ms Keziah Anderson, did you ever go to her house, in the presence or absence of her parents?” Mr David asked him.“Yes, I had gone there once or twice to see her,” Eddy replied.“I see, so in that case, what really stopped you from using that same opportunity to go see her when you tried reaching out to her and she was not reachable?Don't you think it would have been better to go see her in person, just like you were doing when you were dating?” Mr David asked him.“I don't know, but I didn't think of that. I just thought she had just cut me off and I just respected her decision.” Eddy respondedMr David smiled and turned to the judge.“Your honour, have no further questions but before I take my seat, I would like to point out a few things to the court. The first i have here is a fact that Mr Eddy here is trying to hide from this court.Your honour, I would like for it to be on record that, the facial Ventures was declared

TIME TO CRACK THE NUTSThe lawyer smiled.“We have the answer now.It is clear that my client owned the place, as he had said earlier, and the prosecution was only trying to fabricate lies and connect my client with a crime he had no idea of,” Lawyer Ryan said.“I have no further questions,” he added, making his way to his seat.Judge Grant nodded in agreement. “All right. Now may the prosecution also approach the bench and ask their questions, if they have any,” Judge Grant said, motioning to Mr David.Mr David stood up and approached the witness box, ready to ask Eddy some questions.“Mr Eddy…” he began.“You say that you own the place, as stated to be owned by Facial Ventures, claiming you are the CEO of Facial Ventures and that the house still belongs to you. Did I get that right?” he asked.Eddy nodded.“Of course, it is mine,” Eddy responded.“Great.Your honour, let me state clearly that the assertion that Mr Eddy here owns that place is a blatant lie.Mr Eddy was just a shareh

TWO WAY NARRATION“…I would like to call on the first accused person, Mr Eddy Blankson, into the box,” Lawyer Ryan said.At the mention of his name, Eddy Blankson stood from his seat and made his way to the witness box. He stood in the witness box and was handed a Bible. He repeated the words of the oath from the clerk, and when he was done, the Bible was taken from him. He mounted the box properly, waiting to be interrogated by his own lawyer.“Mr Eddy Blankson…” Lawyer Ryan began his cross-examination in the court.“...I have quite a few questions for you. The first three or four questions will demand simple, short answers: 'yes' or 'no'.I would like you to give straightforward answers to those questions. After that, I will ask you a narrative question, and I will expect you to tell me the truth and nothing but the truth, as you have sworn. Now, let me begin with my first question. Is it true that you dated Miss Keziah Anderson at some point? Yes or no?” Lawyer Ryan asked him.Eddy
