THE TURNTABLES

He knew he was easily going to be allowed in because he knew a lot of the big men in the city, most of whom had come to him for treatment while he was in prison.

After all that Ava had done to him, giving her a little payback would not hurt.

Ethan went to sit back down on his armchair with a wicked grin on his face.

He looked around him and smiled.

This was not the way he had imagined his life to become.

On the day he was sentenced to jail, he thought his life was over, but with the assurance of Ava, he believed he still had a companion and a backbone.

On the day he came out of prison, he knew he was back to freedom and was going to enjoy a new life with his wife, not knowing that Ava was bound to betray her this way.

When he was taking the fall for her, he did it out of love, but Ava paid him back with evil.

Up until now, Ethan had no idea who that dead man was, and Ava never explained anything to him.

His only hope was that he was going to know the whole truth once he was out of prison, but he was apparently wrong.

Blinded by love, he had done the unthinkable and paid for the sins of his lover, and here he was. Now he was all alone, abandoned by the woman he claimed to have loved.

Ethan smiled to himself.

“At least the term I served has taught me a lot of things and has also made me a millionaire,” he thought to himself.

He stood up with his wine glass and the newspaper and walked inside.

A few minutes later, Ethan walked to his car parked in front of the house.

He had to go attend to one of his patients, Mr Blackwood's brother.

NEXT DAY AT THE LAUNCHING CEREMONY FOR THE WINSOR GROUP.

Ethan drove to the front of the big event hall in his car

It was in a big hotel that was meant for only top-class people in the society.

Ethan stopped exactly where the parking valet told him to and got out of the car.

He handed the valet his car keys and a hundred-dollar bill as a tip for him.

The valet smiled and bowed a little to show his sign of respect.

Ethan wore a black tuxedo suit and black shoes.

His face was neatly trimmed, with a low haircut and a nicely shaped moustache and beard, and his masculinity had been revealed, far from his appearance on the day of his release.

He wore a nice smile on his face as he walked to the entrance of the hotel.

“Doctor Ethan,” someone called from his back.

Ethan stopped in his tracks and turned around with a smile.

“At least someone recognises me; this is going to be easy.” Ethan thought to himself as he turned to look at the one who called out to him.

A middle-aged Man who looked like an important person, judging from his bodyguard, approached Ethan eagerly with a smile on his face

As he got closer, Ethan immediately recognised who the man was.

He was one of the people who had visited him in prison to have their disease cured. The man was also a businessman and the owner of a law firm, a lawyer.

Ethan smiled and exchanged handshakes with the man.

“Hey David, How is it going with you? You look good.” Ethan said with a wide smile on his face.

David smiled and nodded.

“Thank you, man. All thanks to you, now I am healed. I wouldn't have been here if not for your help. I am eternally grateful. I didn't know you were out already; I would have come to see you,” David said with a smile.

“Nice to hear this. I just came back about three days ago,” Ethan replied with a smile.

“That's great. And you are looking so handsome in that suit. I can see you are going in already. Let’s walk together then,” David said as he gestured towards the hall.

Ethan nodded and moved along with him.

David's bodyguards were following them closely behind, and Ethan couldn't help but smile as he had a feeling of what it felt like to be powerful.

The hall was already filled with people.

There were ushers all around, directing people who didn't know where they were supposed to be.

The ushers, on seeing David and Ethan, all saluted in respect. Ethan knew that it was for the lawyer, David, but he smiled along.

Soon, they were in the VIP lounge with some other important guests who had come for the party. Ethan met another man he knew, Chris. He had healed him too, and he was in the fashion business. He was also a well-known and famous young man.

David and Chris began introducing Ethan to their friends. All the men there were big businessmen in various industries, and hearing that Ethan was a very good doctor, as hailed by David and Chris, they all exchanged pleasantries and got talking with him.

As Ethan began feeling welcomed and relaxed among the people, he heard two familiar female voices from behind him.

Ethan knew exactly who the voices were.

“Excuse me, gentlemen.” One of the voices said softly from behind, and all the men turned around to see who the voice belonged to.

Ethan turned around with a wide grin and smiled.

Both ladies stopped in their tracks and directed their gazes to Ethan directly.

“Ethan!!” Both ladies exclaimed at the same time.

As he dropped the phone beside him and picked up his mobile phone to check if he had received any missed calls. It was empty. Meaning no one had called him. And he sat patiently with the phone in his hand, waiting for a call from Mr Anderson in a moment from now. After about five minutes of waiting without any call coming in, he finally gave up and stood up, heading downstairs. Then, when he got to the living room, he switched on the TV , put it on a news channel and increased the volume such that Keziah, who was in the kitchen, was going to hear it.He casually walked past the living room after dropping the remote of the TV on the couch and walked to the kitchen to continue helping Keziah.Just about a minute after he walked into the kitchen, there was a loud noise from the TV, and the background music indicated that there was breaking news. It was a news channel, and it began giving information about an explosion at Mr Anderson's oil refineries. The two of them heard it loud and c

Ethan pulled back, looking at Keziah in confusion. He was trying to gauge if the words were coming out of Keziah's own mouth. He was not expecting that from her, and at least not at this point where her father was actually in trouble. He had been expecting Keziah to defend her father and sympathise with him all along. But it clearly looked like she was not, and that could only mean one thing: Keziah had already given up on her father.Ethan hid his sigh and shook his head in the negative. "Do you even believe in what you are saying? Because somehow I think you are being too harsh on your father." He said, trying to get her to repeat what she said, knowing that if she really meant it, she was going to be able to repeat it, and if she didn't, she was going to have a hard time repeating it.But Keziah stood firm and replied to him. "Of course I know, but sometimes some decisions have to be taken the hard way. My father has not been a good person, not to me, not to my mom, not to the

"His refinery. That is the biggest asset of them all. We already have some things planted in some part of the refinery, although it is not very complete. But it is still going to go a long way to destroying the place and getting it shut down for months for repairs. So, it is going to also cost a great deal and be a huge blow for him. If you are in support, we can target that and go after him on that side. " Jay explained."And for Abraham Lincoln, what else can we get on him apart from his hideouts? We need to get something that is valuable to him and then use that to hit at him. Maybe we can do the two at the same time," Ethan said.“We have to do it at the same time so both of them begin contemplating what is happening. And like I said, we are going to make it look like they are all going after each other. Then we will relay the location of Mr Anderson to Abraham Lincoln and find a way to get him to know. If she does, he will try to go after Mr Anderson and maybe ambush him or so

The call was answered on the first ring."Hello, sir?” Jay responded when he answered the phone.“Hey, I have an idea," Ethan said.“An idea? What could that be?” He asked.“I want us to try and find out exactly where Abraham Lincoln is headed. While that is going on, we leak his information and the current location of his hideout and home status to the FBI. they might be interested. At the same time, when we get to see where exactly Abraham Lincoln is, we can use that to find a way and make his path cross with Mr Anderson's today. You know there is already bad blood between them now. We can use that to our advantage and get them to fight each other. That will be our win. At the very same time, the two of them engage in a confrontation.Abraham is going to loose focus and that will be when the FBI might step in and arrest them. That will help us," Ethan said“On that part of the FBI, I don't think that will work. It will take quite some time before they even take action. It is going t

He was now very sure that Abraham Lincoln was going to act very soon, and that meant he also needed to act fast before he was found out by Abraham Lincoln or anyone else.Because it was clear that trouble was looming around the corner, and it was just a ticking time bomb waiting to explode. He had to act as soon as possible.Ethan waited for the next update, keeping an eye on the phone, trying to hear what was happening next. After about five minutes of waiting without getting any updates, he picked up his own phone and dialled Jay's number directly. The call went through on the first ring and was answered.“What is happening, any more news?” Ethan asked; immediately Jay answered the call"Hello, sir. We have some developments. So, as it stands now, the news reaching us is that Mr Anderson is leaving the premises of the event, and upon confirming the fact that the place had been blown up and that the police have pinned it on Abraham Lincoln, he has left. We don't know what he is goin

A new message popped up on his phone; he read it. "That has been updated. So, we will keep giving you updates every now and then to make sure that you are fully updated with what is happening. Abraham Lincoln has left his premises, and my men are still on guard and on watch, trying to find out exactly where he is headed and what he is going to do.Also, we have a second team keeping an eye on Mr Anderson and his movements, and we will also be able to know exactly what happens on his side. All updates will be carried out to you duly. " The message read.Ethan smiled but did not reply to the message, and he tapped the phone back into his pocket as he lay down, staring at the ceiling, thinking about what was happening. He lay down silently for close to twenty minutes, with his mind replaying all the stuff that had happened within the past six months since he had returned from prison. Everything was going almost too fast, like a speeding bullet, and he hadn't even had time to pause and
