2. Blessings From Beyond The Grave

Yu Chen found himself in a dark, life-threatening grand hall. He saw molten leaking from the top and dropping to the ground in a deafening sound like a hard rock.

He gulped...

What his master had said shocked him. He did not stop thinking about it. "So I cannot awaken? If I cannot awaken, then it means that I would not also be able to cultivate."

"Am I really that useless?"

Then he remembered his master's last sentence before he was teleported here.

"Death is the only choice to realign. Either you take this path or die forever!"

Maybe death is not a bad idea after all. It is only through death that one will be able to see the deep mysteries of life.

Yu Chen took a step forward and a powerful feeling of fear drenched into his heart, soul and body. The first depth of Cauldron makes it impossible for anyone to survive the infiltrating power of fear. It was so inevitable.

Fear was the worst... Yu Chen could hear the whispers. It cut deep into him, like ten thousand tiny knives of human emotions... Fear. It was so consuming that Yu Chen fell on his knees.

The ambient void distorted and undulated at the intensity of fear. It surged endlessly and seeped deep into his bones that they shivered.

He was only an ordinary human.

He was not extraordinary. He had not awakened. He had not also abandoned his mortality which was a huge problem when facing the seven depths.

The Cauldrons were not too deep nor too far from each other, but the power it possesses is enough to distort human understanding of distance.

Yu Chen summoned his courage despite it still crumbling before his very eyes, he mustered his strength and ran.

One step, two steps...

Three steps.

Sweat poured down his face, drenching his body and soaking him wet.

The fourth step...

He successfully reached the end of the first depth and entered the boundary between the first and the second depth.

It was at this moment that the unimaginable pressure vanished.

He had survived the first depth. But he also knew that, surviving the first depth was due to luck. He might not be as lucky in the second depth.

Yu Chen rested. He decided to rest, he would continue the depths after a long time and after he was well rested. Who knows, he might survive what even an ordinary human would not be able to.

In the next two weeks, he was ready to continue.

He lefted the boundary and the moment his both legs broke out of it, an invisible barrier separated him from the boundary so that he would not step back into it.

And just as he had stepped in, a powerful pressure descended, crushing Yu Chen to the ground instantly that his nose leaked out blood.

A piercing shriek left his lips and he stood up, searching frantically for the boundary, but to his dismay, it was blocked off.

It meant that, once he was in, he was in. There is no going back! He only needed to survive the power.

The second depth is Sorrow and misery and Yu Chen felt the grief of the world... he was so sad that he bleed from the wave of sadness and misery.

How will he survive?

Death!

Yes, death is the only choice, without death it would be impossible to move on. Yu Chen could not move, he could not also stand from his position, the pressure just kept pressing him down, down and down that his body was crushed upon the floor.

His life flashed before eyes.

The cold hands of death was pressed upon his entire soul.

He saw darkness and death. Both clashed in the heavens and the sky trembled.

Yu Chen's eyes flashed and he saw a death spear, and a wisp of darkness which represented an insane energy and Miasma...

There was a cracking sound.

Crrrrckkkkkk!!!

His bones were being broken under the pressure.

Yu Chen bore the pain, while death swirled around him like a bad omen.

"Don't give up... You're there... Don't give up!"

Yu Chen did not know why he was not supposed to give up but he realized that he was having an epiphany.

Something was bearing fruit...

Something was coming to light out of the crippling darkness.

Yu Chen saw a strange world of skulls...

A light flickered around him.

A black skeletal creature materialized like a visualization and it shuttled back and forth.

And then...

PLOP!

Yu Chen's body was smashed completely into meat paste.

His heart suddenly stopped, his blood sprayed around the cold marble floor. The only thing that Yu Chen saw was darkness and nothing else.

However, he heard one statement.

Death is the end and also the beginning of a new tragedy...

The next moment, Skulls manifested and swirled endlessly.

Yu Chen had finally comprehended something and that is Death.

The law of Death.

Death ends every thing, but it starts the era of destruction and doom. Yu Chen was unable to fully awaken the normal power so he had deviated from the normal way and took a shortcut to alignment.

Right now, Yu Chen's eyes spun and it was filled with the magnetic gorge of absolute death.

Yu Chen was still in the second depth and the pressure from sorrow and misery seem to have receded a lot that it almost did not affect him.

Yu Chen however was attracted by something.
