As soon as Lorenzo left the restaurant, he hailed a cab and went directly to his dormitory.

On getting there, he realized that there was no one in his dormitory, not even his friend; they were yet to arrive.

He had left the restaurant with hope that he would be able to share the executive meal with them. However, since no one was home and his stomach was grumbling from hunger,

he sat down, set the meal on the table, and began to eat—the first time he had ever tried such a meal.

It tasted so good to Lorenzo that he had no idea when he finished everything.

As soon as he was done, he lay for a minute before realizing that he did not have many clothes other than the one T-shirt his grandfather’s butler had given him when he was at the mansion.

He peeped at the worn-out sneakers that were on his feet and realized he needed a wardrobe change: new clothes, new shoes, new sneakers, and underwear.

Lorenzo stood up and hailed a taxi to go get himself some clothes.

Upon arriving in front of Louis Vuitton, Lorenzo ordered the taxi driver to stop.

The man, upon seeing that a shabby man like Lorenzo had stopped at that mall, couldn't help but wonder what he was doing there.

“Do you work at Louis Vuitton?” he asked.

“No.”

The driver frowned slightly, glancing at Lorenzo’s worn-out sneakers and faded T-shirt through the rearview mirror.

“Then… you’re sure this is where you want to stop?” he asked carefully, as if giving him a chance to correct a mistake.

Lorenzo simply nodded and paid the fare without another word.

The driver watched as he stepped out of the cab and walked toward the grand entrance of the mall, shaking his head in disbelief. “Young people and their pride,” he muttered before driving off.

As soon as Lorenzo stepped out, he stood for a few seconds at the entrance of the grand mall, glancing at the huge building before taking a step in.

As soon as he walked in, everything looked expensive. Everything screamed beautiful and classy.

The former Lorenzo would have admired from a distance, but here he was, standing in the building with an account balance full of money.

Two sales associates instantly spotted Lorenzo with his shabby outfit.

They were only used to people with expensive outfits and rich-looking appearances.

Their smiles froze for half a second before they put on a professional look on their faces.

“Good evening, sir,” one of them said politely. “How may we help you?”

“I need clothes,” Lorenzo replied calmly. “A full wardrobe change.”

The two women exchanged a quick look.

“Sir, our items are…” the second one hesitated, choosing her words carefully, “…quite expensive,” she finished softly.

Lorenzo met her eyes. “That won’t be a problem.”

For a split second, neither of them moved.

Then the first attendant forced a brighter smile. “Of course, sir. What exactly are you looking for?”

“Everything,” Lorenzo said. “Casual. Formal. Shoes. Underwear.”

The first attendant nodded. “OK, sir. Turn right. You will see each signboard for each category.”

Lorenzo gave a slight nod and turned to the right as instructed.

The sections were clearly labeled—FORMAL. CASUAL. FOOTWEAR. ACCESSORIES.

For a brief second, he felt out of place again.

But only for a second.

He walked toward the casual section first and slowly began to pick items off the rack—items that had caught his attention.

He didn't even mind if the items were many and expensive, as long as they caught his attention.

Moving on, he went to the formal category—outfits he would wear for school events and other formal occasions. As he was about to pick an expensive silk suit, his eyes moved to the price tag.

Upon seeing the $30,000 price for just one suit, Lorenzo's hand immediately moved away.

He had tried as much as possible not to check the price tags because he knew the former Lorenzo could still creep in and stop him from buying it.

However, he ignored the tag and decided to pick up the suit along with numerous other suits without checking the tags.

Just as he moved to the shoe section on the male side, ready to start picking his pairs of shoes, he heard a loud noise from the female section.

“Watch where you are going!” a female voice resounded loudly.

Everyone turned to check what was going on. Even Lorenzo paused mid-step with a pair of leather shoes still in his hands.

The commotion came from the accessories section. Lorenzo turned just in time to see a young woman stumble slightly as she reached for a pair of designer shoes.

The other woman—tall, flashy, and dripping with arrogance—immediately yelled, “Are you blind?! Do you know how expensive these are?!”

The first woman froze. Her clothes were plain, slightly worn, and she looked utterly out of place in the glitzy store. She had been sent on a quick errand by her part-time job to buy these shoes for work. She hadn’t even seen the other woman coming, and now she was being accused.

“I-I’m sorry! I didn’t see—please forgive me!” the younger woman stammered, bowing her head and holding her bag tightly.

The flashy woman’s expression hardened. “Sorry doesn’t fix ruined shoes!” she snapped, pointing to the heels the younger girl had accidentally bumped.

The crowd started to gather.

Lorenzo paused mid-step. He could have ignored it, turned, and gone back to the shoes he was picking. After all, it wasn’t his problem.

But something about the cruel way the flashy woman berated the poorer girl hit a nerve. He remembered what it felt like to be helpless, humiliated, and powerless.

He set his leather shoes carefully down and stepped forward, moving between the two women. His presence drew the attention of the surrounding shoppers immediately.

“Excuse me,” Lorenzo said calmly, his voice quiet but cutting through the tension. “I think that’s enough.”

The tall woman’s perfectly shaped brows furrowed as she sized Lorenzo up from head to toe. Her gaze lingered on his faded T-shirt and worn sneakers, and the corner of her lips curled in disdain. She let out a sharp laugh. “And who exactly are you supposed to be?” she sneered. “Another charity case?” Lorenzo’s expression remained calm, almost indifferent. But his eyes were steady—cold and unwavering. “I believe she already apologized,” he said evenly. “There’s no need to humiliate her.” The woman scoffed loudly, flipping her long, glossy hair over her shoulder. “Humiliate her? Do you even know how much these heels cost?” She lifted the pair dramatically. “These are custom-made. Imported. You wouldn’t even understand the brand if I told you.” A murmur rippled through the growing crowd. Some recognized her; she is a frequent customer of Louis Vuitton, and she was clearly wealthy—dressed in designer clothes from head to toe, dripping in jewelry that screamed status. Others whispered
