Jason stepped out of the store, feeling the cool breeze brush against his face. He had just picked up some snacks and a drink, thinking about how to spend the rest of the evening after a successful shopping and finally getting his revenge on Jeremy.

When his phone buzzed in his pocket, startling him a little.

It was an unknown caller.

Jason stared at the screen for a moment, unsure whether to pick it up or not. Finally, with a slight hesitation, he answered the call.

“Hello?”

Jason said, his voice steady but curious.

“Jason, it’s Camila Joseph.”

A familiar yet distant voice spoke on the other end.

“I’ve heard everything from Summer. I’m sending someone to pick you up. Make sure you dress up nicely.”

At that moment, Jason’s mind raced, hearing Camila Joseph's voice. He hadn’t expected her to call, especially not today. He thought it would take weeks or months, but why so fast? There was a brief pause as he processed what Camilla just said.

“Okay, I’ll be ready.”

Jason replied, tryi

Camila Joseph was holding her phone in hand, staring at Jason's number. She had sent him some money, and she wanted him to use it to buy a good suit for himself. She didn't do some background checks on him, and Summer was so kind enough to tell her a few things about him that she thought to her this would be the best decision. She really wanted him to look nice for the upcoming event. Camila had high standards, and it was understandable, given her family’s status. They were wealthy and well-known, and she wanted Jason to fit in with his handsome face and book so it wouldn't be difficult to blend in.Jason received the message and the money, and he stared at his phone for some seconds, not knowing what to say. He felt a bit overwhelmed because this would be the first time he's recovering something for someone they have not even met. Without being told, he knew Camila’s standards were high—maybe too high for him then, but he understood why. Her family is very important in the count

Camila’s family, who were already gathered outside waiting for Jason to arrive, were all shocked by his appearance. They weren't expecting him to look this smart, and the suit he was putting in looked expensive. Camila, her eyes also wide with surprise, immediately, without wasting any time, quickly approached Jason. She gently took his hands, her fingers brushing against the smooth fabric of the limited edition suit.“Jason… Where did you get this suit?” She asked, her voice soft but laced with curiosity.Jason smiled and looked bold as always; he started tilting his head slightly as he met her gaze. “You told me to look good, didn’t you? So, I did what you wanted.”Camila’s surprise didn’t fade away. Instead, it deepened as she continued to look at Jason.Without being told, she could tell the suit was not just any suit; it was some

How could the painting be fake?Roy couldn't hold it in, and he burst out laughing. “Jason or whatever you call yourself, you're out of your mind!” He shouted while still laughing. “How can you say that Camilla's grandfather bought a fake painting? Are you saying that the Joseph family, one of the wealthiest families around, is displaying a fake painting on their wall for everyone to see? That's ridiculous! You probably haven't seen many expensive paintings in your entire life, so you think this one is fake.”Camilla’s grandfather at that moment frowned. He wasn’t happy with what Jason said. The boss's face contorted with a mixture of rage and satisfaction, his earlier fear now subsumed by the confidence that comes with imminent reinforcement. His eyes narrowed to slits as he watched Victoria's desperate attempt to silence Jason."That's right," he snarled, jabbing a finger in their direction. "She knows what's coming. Maybe you should listen to her, tough guy. Start minding how you talk to me—if you want to keep that tongue in your head."Jason remained still beneath Victoria's trembling hands, his eyes never leaving the boss's face. There was something in his gaze—not fear, but a calculating intensity—that made the boss shift uncomfortably despite his advantage."Two minutes," the boss announced, checking his watch with exaggerated care. "Time for me to get comfortable for the show."He surveyed the wreckage of the shop, stepping carefully over shattered glass and splintered wood. In the corner, mostly untouched by the earlier violence, stood a single lacquered chair—on

The silence expanded like poison gas, filling every corner of the room. The boss's pleas hung in the air, unanswered. The visitor—the connection to Victoria—remained unmoved, his expression a perfect mask."Please," the boss's voice cracked further, desperation clawing at his throat. "Look at me. Say something."But the man's eyes drifted past him, surveying the room with clinical detachment. The boss might as well have been invisible."I have money," he whispered, pressing his forehead to the cold floor, dignity abandoned. "Not just what we took from Maya. More. Much more. In accounts overseas. Properties in three countries. It's all Victoria's if she wants it."From the corner, Jason watched his once-feared boss dissolve into a puddle of fear. He'd never seen the man like this—the boss who'd once broken a man's fingers one by one for shorting him fifty dollars. The boss turned his head, seeking support from his men. Their eyes slid away, no one willing to meet his gaze."You," he ba

Donovan racked his brain, sifting through countless faces from board meetings, charity galas, and political fundraisers. The stranger's features stirred something in his memory—prominent enough to recognize but elusive enough to frustrate."What's going on here?" The newcomer's voice cut through the tension, deep and measured with an authority that seemed to resonate through the restaurant. Before anyone could respond, Victoria rushed forward, her professional composure crumbling as she approached the stranger. Her eyes glistened with unshed tears, hands trembling as she reached for his sleeve."Please, you have to help us," she pleaded, her voice breaking. "They're bullying my son. These men—" she gestured wildly at Donovan and his associates, "—they're extorting money from us. 'Security fees,' they call it."She drew a shuddering breath, the words tumbling out faster now. "We never asked for their 'protection.' They just showed up one day, demanding payment for the mosque community—

The water glasses jumped, sending tiny splashes across the polished surface. "I will repeat myself just this once."He leaned forward, looming over Jason, who remained unnervingly calm in his seat. The red ring gleamed on the young man's finger as he casually tapped it against the armrest."If you don't withdraw your proposal and sign over your patents by close of business tomorrow," Donovan continued, voice dropping to a dangerous whisper, "I will personally ensure that you are financially and professionally obliterated. No one will touch you or your work ever again."A vein throbbed visibly at Donovan's temple as he straightened. "I've sat quietly through your insolence long enough. Did you

The question carried a dangerous undercurrent, like ice forming over deep water. The boss shifted uncomfortably in Victoria's grandfather's chair, the legs creaking beneath him. Sweat beaded at his temples despite the evening chill."He's more trouble than he looks," the boss stammered, his earlier confidence evaporating under The Dragon's penetrating gaze. "Just... just deal with this trash. I'm tired of wasting time." His voice found some of its former strength as he continued, gesturing around the shop with angry sweeps of his hand. "I want this place destroyed. Demolished. Scattered. Torn to shreds."The Dragon regarded him with the cool appraisal of a banker considering a high-risk loan. "As long as you're paying me very, very well..." He left the sentence unfinished, the implication clear. "I have no problem with it."

The phone barely rang once before a gruff voice answered, the sound so clear in the silent room that it seemed to hover in the air between them."Boss." Not a question. A statement."Dragon, I need your presence immediately." The boss's voice had lost its theatrical quality, replaced by sharp urgency. His eyes never left Jason's face as he spoke, searching for any flicker of recognition, any hint of fear. "The noodle shop across from Sullivan's. Now."A beat of silence from the other end. Then: "Details.""Some punk named Jason thinks he runs things now." The boss's knuckles whitened around the phone. "He needs to be taught the kind of lesson only you can deliver. Make sure he pays. For everything."Another pause, shorter this time. "Twenty minutes.""Not good enough. Now." The boss's voice cracked slightly on the last word. A heavy sigh crackled through the connection. "Ten."The call ended abruptly. The boss slowly lowered the phone, his lips curling into something between a grimac

The room fell silent except for the rhythmic drip of liquor from a shattered bottle onto the floor."You don't get it, do you?" He looked... ordinary. Dangerous, yes, but human. The boss's gaze swept across the destruction—the overturned furniture, the shattered glass, his men in various states of disarray—before settling on the confrontation at the center of the room. Jason stood his ground, unflinching as the tension in the room crystalized into something dangerous. His eyes found Jason's—cold, calculating, the kind of eyes that had witnessed things most people couldn't imagine. The room seemed to cool by several degrees."So..." The word slithered out, dangerously soft. "You're the one who did this to my man."Jason didn't flinch. Didn't blink. He let the silence stretch between them, thick and challenging. Madam Victoria stood slightly behind him, her breathing shallow, her eyes darting between the two men."I want your boss," Jason finally said, his voice steady despite the pounding in his chest. "Here. On his knees. Apologizing to Madam Victoria for this disrespect."A muscle twitched in the man's ja
