The Prodigy's Return

CHAPTER 7

When Jack arrived at one of the hotels, he parked his car at a safe spot and away from preying eyes. 

As he got out of the car, he scanned around the place looking for a possible security personnel but there was no sign of anyone.

Before he takes a step forward, Jack noticed a black mustang move into the hotel and from inside Mike stepped out of the car all dressed up in black to his gloves.

Jack knew getting into the hotel was going to be a problem.  He looked up and notice the surveillance. 

Good thing is that he has a white mask that could cover his face away from anyone.

Jack returned back to his car and picked up his white mask and returned to the corridor once again observing the hotel

The opportunity came when there is no more security men at sight. Jack managed to sneak into the hotel.

Pulling off his mask, he peeped through the door but notice there is no one in the reception unit.

Jack considers it another strange phenomenon because receptionist must always learn to abide by the rules and stay up all night.

He tiptoed through the hallway trying to figure out which route  that Mike must have possible taken.

Jack arrived at a cross path and paused for a moment, wondering which path he was going to take.

Suddenly he heard a scream and turned to his left. Jack followed the shrieking sound of the scream till it brought him to a door.

He gently pulled the door opened, peeping through the door and wondering what could be happening inside. “You sold my supplies to a dealer who has no money!” He heard Mike yell which is accompanied by a kick to another man tied up on the floor.

“I am so sorry boss. I was told that he would be nice and easy. They also told me that he could solve everything about the marijuana supplies to Mexico”

Jack covered his mouths as his eyes widened in disbelief. “Please boss, allow me correct my mistakes” The vicitim pleaded, his face soaked up with a mixture of tears and blood.

Jack watched Mike get a gun from one of his security men and points it to the head of the young man tied to the chair. “I don’t forgive anyone that mess with my money” The sound of the gun went off and this startled Jack causing the door to open farther than expected.

“Who is that?”

Alarmed, Jack rose up and dashed away from the room, running through the hallway. “Hey!” 

While his legs hit the floor and keeps the pace, Jack quickly pulled out the mask and wore it on his face. “Close the door!” He heard one of the security men yelled.

As Jack approached the entrance, the door begins to slowly moved down and the only thing in his mind at that moment was the will to just slide outside.

He increased his pace and right before the door will close, Jack gets out of the mansion. As he is running towards his car, he hears the door open.

Jack dodged the flying bullets and ran down to his car. He picked up the keys and turned on the ignition and speed away.

As Jack made a turn down to the lonely express road, he noticed several cars and bikes coming behind him.

He hit the peddle and the car increased in its speed. One of the bullets shot at his car hits the side mirror and this makes Jack to adjust his hands on the steering.

He searched for his phone with one eyes on the road. He managed to find the number he was looking for and dialed it.

Jack checked the other mirror to see that they were not intending to give up on chasing him. “I need several soldiers standing at the east and west coast junction.. Do it now!” Jack yelled and hung up.

He was determined to leave the place alive. As he approached the junction, he noticed the bikes and car were slowly loosing pace and a smile came to his face.

His soldiers had arrived right on time. Jack followed the soldiers till he got back to his apartment.

As he got out of the car, Monalisa is standing at the entrance of the building with her night clothes still on. :”What is going on?” Monalisa asked as Jack briskly walked inside the big building.

He closed the door behind him and walked to the couch to have his sit. “Where in the world were you and why are you breathing that fast” Monalisa asked again.

“I think I believe you now,.” Jack expressed, taking a huge breath and relaxing his back on the couch.

“What are you talking about?” 

“Mike is a murderer and I saw it with my eyes” Jack’s revelation caused Monalisa to gasp.

“Wait a minute, how did you know?” She asked.

“Because I saw it with my own eyes. He killed a man and that is not all, he is involved in cocaine and marijuana business. That is why he built those hotels” Jack explained.

Monalisa was speechless. She could recount the words of her father over and over again about the scorpion tattoo. It was obvious her guts has never lied about anything. “So what do we do now?” 

“We need to find evidence against him and nail it on him. The lawsuit doesn’t mean anything” Jack indicated.

“What did the doctor say about the test result” Jack paused and turned towards Monalisa. He had recalled the exact words of the doctor, but did not know how he was going to break the news to her.

“The doctor said many things.” Jack mentioned, looking away from her and playing with his finger.

“Why are you nervous to tell me?” Monalisa squinted her eyes in observation.

Jack closed his eyes and opened his mouth to speak the truth. “The doctor says that you have brain tumor”
