Somewhere deep inside the stone caves.

A long-legged rat with a lion-like mane sprang like a kangaroo, bounced off the walls and struck Catherine’s back.

She crashed pathetically on the ground.

The rat was about to bite her head off, but Denver hissed a little.

The rat stopped in its tracks and sweated.

“Don’t forget your role,” Denver coldly uttered.

The rat backed away a few steps and covered its face with its front paws in a submissive manner.

Catherine got back to her feet and cringed in pain because she felt like her spine cracked a little. “That hurts…”

Catherine’s eyes were blindfolded even though it was already pretty dark inside the cave.

“How much longer should I fight like this? Without using my gravitas system?” Catherine complained.

“Until you are able to use aura and fight that long-legged rat,” Denver replied, sounding a little bit disappointed.

“Didn’t you say it takes years of hard work to control one’s aura?” Catherine asked impatiently.

“Yeah, but you are a profess

Leo was alone after Diane left for the washroom. After looking around, Leo’s gaze shifted to where Jim Draknor was sitting. “That guy… he’s hiding it, but I can vaguely feel a tremendous energy from him. It’s not aura. Is it vivre then?”Leo was aware of history, thanks to him reading forbidden books in his father’s home.Aura was used by commoners in the ancient times, as aura was considered earthly. It had the tendency to increase earthly desires unless it was tamed. So, nobles and kings of those times relied on heavenly energies, which also had the tendency to increase spiritual desires unless it was brought under control. There were many nobles who gave up on their wealth and families and lived a life of loneliness and for greater causes in old times. In general, it was hard to manifest much less subdue one’s own aura, but perceiving heavenly energies was said to be even harder. As for subduing the heavenly energies, this was something that only a very few could hope to achieve.L

As the five members of the special slave squad were in serious discussion, the door suddenly opened, and Diane entered the toilet room. There was nobody in the room. She washed her face and stood before the mirror. Her makeup was all gone now, and she didn’t appear as pretty as she did a few seconds ago.“Why can’t I like my normal face anymore?”Out of frustration, she punched the mirror with her bare hand. The mirror broke, and her hand bled.“Where did things start going wrong?” She thought back of all the incidents. “Yeah, it was after my dad died. Since then, I haven't had anybody to put brakes on my thoughts.“If he was alive, I’d have married Denver and already had kids by now. I’d have been restricted to home just like my mother.“But my situation right now isn’t better, either. I’m alone. Still, I can turn things around if I play my cards right. Leo is a card I can’t lose. I have to make a deep impression on him, but I can’t do that through ordinary means. He seems to have co

Fighting dozens of high-level rankers wasn’t easy for Sheryl.Their skill was one thing, but the shitty smell they all exuded was a whole different thing.Clashing with these men and women donning discolored clothes in itself proved quite difficult for her.She had to shut off her sense of sight and smell.Even with her eyes closed, she was able to fight them and get accustomed to their pace.Within a few minutes, she dealt with all of them, not counting the ones that broke free from Tyron’s hypnosis spell and ran away.In the end, she killed 14 people and severely injured 28 more. But she only suffered minor scratches, though she did have to spend a lot of energy to finish them off quickly.Nevertheless, she was still on guard.“Huff, huff, there could be more people who have infiltrated this place. I have to do a clear search before returning to the port.”Back at the kitchen building.Catherine entered the main hall, only to be shocked seeing the destruction and death everywhere.A

A faint noise was all Alex heard. Before he could react, a sword sliced his head off his neck. The darkness cleared, and Tyron’s assistant Birka appeared. She looked a bit slimmer than she did a few minutes back.“This is the fifth one,” Birka said while frowning, “but…” Birka saw Alex’s head turn into wood. “A-A wooden clone?”At the same time, Sheryl received the information as to what happened to Alex’s clone she prepared. She immediately sent signals to both Denver and Catherine and sent them a mental message, “I was right. Tyron’s group is here. Some of them are in the kitchen. The others seemed to be assassinating all the locals of Rose Park!”Denver and Catherine looked at each other. They had thought Sheryl was being overly cautious when she created clones of Alex and also of the residents of Rose Park, but now, they felt quite relieved.“I can’t leave this place abruptly,” Denver told Sheryl. “So, I’ll leave Tyron to you.”Sheryl gladly obliged and left the port in a hurry.E

  • CHAPTER 386

Sheryl was talking with Jordan Wang, a steel manufacturing company owner. And she felt some of her energy rippling inside her body. This broke her concentration, and she wondered, “This feeling… did some of the basic puppets I made die?”There were multiple ways in which she could create puppets. Depending on the level of those puppets, they could look quite similar to humans, and if they were to get destroyed, Sheryl would automatically know what happened. However, the puppets she made in the basement of Rose Tower were low-leveled ones, which were only good at fighting. So, Sheryl didn’t realize that those puppets were wrecked by Sedrick.“You don’t publicly trade your steel, so how about you join us?” Sheryl asked Jordan. “We can build new cars and armored vehicles on our own.”“Do you have quality engineers on your side?” Jordan asked.“Yep. We have a super computer ready to optimize all our work,” Sheryl told him. “I can assure you that your market cap will triple in two years.”

Sheryl brought Jewel King Kelton and left him with Alex. “Take him to the basement of Rose Tower.”“You won’t get away with doing this,” Kelton spoke in a painful voice. His face was all swollen because of the thrashing he had received. “Mickey will surely make you regret harming me!”Sheryl punched him in the face again, expecting to knock him out.But Kelton was still conscious. “I will kill you with my own hands.”Alex quickly took Kelton away.“This pig sure has ridiculous durability,” Sheryl thought. “Why did Mickey send him here tonight? Was he planning on using Kelton as bait? Well, we’re going to make full use of Kelton.”Sheryl then went to talk to other guests.“If you want me to support you, you just have to do one thing, Mr. Denver,” Leander of the Shadow Consortium was talking with Denver in a polite tone, “give me your assistant.”“You mean Sheryl?” Denver frowned. “I won’t force her.”“You won’t force her? What kind of a boss are you?” Leander expressed unconcern toward
