Chapter 1
CHAPTER 01
Carrying four cement bags that totaled a backbreaking 440 pounds, Denver looked like it was no big deal.
With steady steps, he climbed the ladder to the second floor of the building in the construction.
Today’s grind was simple but grueling.
Hauling all the cement and sandbags upstairs.
His reward? A measly 30 bucks.
It wasn’t much, but he had no choice.
He was working for the future of his family.
Denver carefully placed the bags in a dry corner, wiping a bit of sweat from his brow.
Just as he straightened up, a distinct click-clack caught his ear.
The rhythm of high heels on concrete.
A woman in a sleek purple dress with three-quarter sleeves.
Her dark hair flowing like silk, and a face as radiant as the morning sun.
She looked and swayed like a model, and was so out of place in this dirty site!
Every other worker dropped their jaws as they saw her.
What was a woman like her—dressed to kill in a stunning outfit—doing at a dusty construction site?
From the distance, her wide, sparkling eyes were locked on one person: Denver.
"Boss!"
Her voice rang out, clear and confident, cutting through the hum of the site.
Denver’s eyes widened in response.
“Watch out!”
A loud CRACK! shattered the air.
The tall brick wall next to her groaned and began to tilt.
The woman, completely absorbed in her excitement at seeing him, didn’t even notice the looming danger.
By the time she realized, the wall was already collapsing.
Denver didn’t think. He just moved.
Like a blur. Next second, he grabbed her waist from behind and jumped forth in a diving motion.
BUDOOM~~!!
Dust exploded into the air, swallowing the site in a gray haze.
Denver and the brunette were on the floor, with her lying on top of him.
Their eyes quickly locking on each other.
Her lips curled into a small, knowing smile.
To leap from a ladder 50 feet away and reach her in under three seconds.
Then save her from a collapsing wall?
That kind of speed and reflexes wasn’t just rare.
It was extraordinary.
And now, standing right in front of her, was the man she’d been searching for.
The other workers whispered among themselves.
Some said it was a sudden gust of wind that toppled the wall; others weren’t so sure.
The woman paid no attention to the murmurs or the chaos around them.
Her gaze stayed firmly on Denver.
Her smile emotional.
“Finally find you, boss… It’s great to see you’re still as sharp as ever.”
Denver frowned, confused.
He had no idea what she was talking about.
"Uh, Miss… I think you’ve got the wrong guy. I’m not your boss."
A flicker of disappointment crossed her face, but she quickly covered it up.
“You’re Hawkers’ top-level! Don’t you remember anything at all?!”
Now Denver was sure she had the wrong person.
“I’m just Denver, a regular construction worker.”
She glanced at his neck, her eyes catching a small mole there. Her smile deepened.
"You’re not just any Denver," she said. "It’s really good to see you again."
Her words felt heavy with meaning, but Denver didn’t have time to figure them out.
“You must be in shock from the fall. Sit down for a few minutes.”
He was already thinking about leaving.
Today was Diane’s birthday—her first since they’d gotten engaged.
He had planned a special surprise for her.
Now he was busy finishing his task as soon as possible.
But the strange woman still gripped his hand.
Denver frowned.
Why was she being unreasonable?
“Trust me!”
She insisted, flashing a mischievous smile.
“Just hear me out. You must have lost your memories in the mission. We have been looking for you for 3 years...”
“I don’t have time for this,”
Denver said firmly, finally pulling his hand away.
Realizing she couldn’t get him to stay, she sighed, clearly frustrated.
Then she reached into her purse and pulled out a sleek bank card.
“If you won’t listen, at least take this,”
She said, holding it out to him.
Denver didn’t budge.
It screamed scam—the kind where you accept something and suddenly owe money you never agreed to.
Seeing his hesitation, she smirked.
She leaned forward, and slipped the card into his pocket.
“Check out this card. It’ll give you the answers you’re looking for, about your past.”
She said, adding a wink before turning on her heels and walking off.
“What was that all about? Is she even okay in the head?”
He shook his head and walked away, lifting his helmet to scratch his temple.
Doubt flickered through his mind.
She was right. He did lose his memories.
“I don’t remember anything that happened prior to being saved by Uncle Richard. But…”
He had already formed a new life with Richard’s family, and he didn’t really want to shift his focus anywhere else right now.
After Richard died from a tragic accident, Denver took on all the responsibilities of his family.
Today, on the big day of his fiancee, who is also Richard’s daughter, Denver especially had no time for anything else.
When the project manager’s whistle finally blew, Denver smiled, pulled off his helmet, and rushed home.
A bouquet of variegated roses was in his hand.
Something small and hidden was tucked in his pocket.
The house was quiet and bare.
The kind of emptiness that comes with moving into a new place without furniture yet.
He bounded up the stairs, three steps at a time.
He skidded to a stop outside their bedroom door.
Grinning, he raised a hand to knock but froze mid-motion.
Noises coming from inside.
It was Diane’s voice mixed with another man’s voice.
“Are you sure we can keep doing this here?”
A man’s voice asked, casual but clear.
“He won’t be back until evening,” replied a woman.
Diane’s voice.
The words hit Denver like a punch to the gut, making him stumble back in disbelief.
His chest tightened like a storm.
He staggered, and his foot knocked over a vase sitting behind him.
It toppled to the floor, shattering loudly on impact.
The noise startled the people inside.
The door creaked open.
Diane stepped out, her face pale as she locked eyes with Denver, frozen in place like a statue.
Behind her, the man leaned lazily against the doorframe.
He smirked as if he’d been caught stealing candy, not someone else’s future.
Denver looked at Diane with utter disappointment and immense anger in his eyes.
“Who the hell is this clown?”
He growled, his voice trembling with fury.
“Are you fucking him?”
“D-Denver,” Diane stammered, her usual confidence shattered.
The blonde, her signature mole near her chin trembling with her, tried to explain.
“It’s not what you think! Stephen was just helping me with—”
“Helping you with what? Screaming for sex?”
Denver’s voice boomed, echoing through the house.
“Don’t lie to me, Diane! I heard everything!”
Even caught red-handed, she had the nerve to try and cover it up?!
The man behind Diane pushed her aside, interrupting her response.
Denver’s fists clenched as the stranger stepped forward.
His cocky smirk igniting every ounce of anger in him.
“So you’re the pathetic fiancé she’s been complaining about? You really do look like a loser.”
Stephen grinned wickedly,
“You smell like cement and shit mixed together.”
He walked one step closer to Denver, looked him in the eye.
“YEAH. I’m the one who’s been fucking your girl."
"And guess what? This wasn’t the first time."
"It sure as hell won’t be the last!”

The Return of Don Denver CHAPTER 539
Denver and others arrived at the Rose Tower, only to be surprised to see a group of men raising their flag at the tower. They weren’t even among the top hundred ranks, so Sheryl was able to easily deal with their leader. And the rest of them ran away toward the north.“It seems they came from the northern side which we left unguarded,” Catherine said, noticing the open books. “They were reading the martial arts books in your room, Denver.”“If it’s just martial arts books they read, then that’s alright,” Denver looked at the shelf where books containing some personal information was kept. Some of them were handwritten by Sheryl, so Denver looked at her, asking for her permission.“No, don’t burn them, Boss,” Sheryl quickly extended her arm. Her aura reached out those books and turned them into wood. “Now… I can just rebuild those books later.”“You can create books with your ability? That’s pretty cool!” Catherine appeared a bit envious. “You can just earn a fortune just by creating p

The Return of Don Denver CHAPTER 538
“You’re dead meat, Denver!” Joffrey leaped down from the wall in great fury.“Green Tide!” a flood of vines rolled forward and flew at Joffrey like a tsunami.“Hawk Glide!” Joffrey expertly dashed through the vines, barely stepping on some of them as he changed directions pretty fast and came down and attacked Denver with great momentum. “Hawk Fang!”Denver’s claw also met with Joffrey’s claw in the same fashion. Both of them used the same attack. Their fingers locked together as Joffrey tried to rip out Denver’s fingers.Denver released a pulse of shocking energy through his claw, but Joffrey resisted it with his own pulse of pure somatic aura.“Leaf Shuriken!” Sheryl threw a spinning leaf that went for Joffrey’s neck from the side.Joffrey was forced to bend his upper body back.Denver used this opportunity to kick him in the gut and send him flying back to the wall.Sheryl continued her previous ‘Green Tide’ attack and seemingly swallowed Joffrey alive. The huge wall itself got de

The Return of Don Denver CHAPTER 537
At the southern border of Rose Park.Bobby and his group of people were just utterly crushed by another group of people led by a high ranker Joffrey.Joffrey was a tall, fat man with a pot belly. He covered his bald head with a big hat. His legs, however, were long and abnormally thin.Because of this defeat, Bobby lost his chance of going on a date with Lovia. Even after losing the fight, he still tried to grab Joffrey to stop him from going up the border wall.“You don’t know when to give up, do you?” Joffrey kicked him in the face and sent him rolling toward the wall.Bobby’s jaw broke and a few of his teeth fell out. He lost consciousness.Joffrey looked up and saw Berg staring down at him. “The Butcher, was it? Why don’t you join my gang? I can really make good use of a man like you.”“I only enjoy killing animals, but you enjoy killing women and children,” Berg replied. “You and I will not fit in the same group.”“If we put our differences aside, we can work together as a good t

The Return of Don Denver CHAPTER 536
Thanks to Sheryl’s warning, Catherine spit out the banana piece from her mouth.“What’s wrong?” Catherine quickly asked. “Why did you tell me not to eat it?”“Aren’t you asking the obvious?” Sheryl yelled. “What if it’s poisoned?”“EH?” Catherine looked at the old shopkeeper who was smiling cheekily. “A-Are the bananas poisoned?”“My, my… which fruits aren’t loaded with pesticides and chemicals these days?” the old lady replied while cleaning an apple with a cloth. “They are slow poison, so you won’t die right away from eating them. But in time, you will fall sick and you wouldn’t even know why you got intestinal or some other form of cancer.”“The heck?” Catherine looked bewildered as the old lady was speaking scary stuff with a smiling face.Sheryl picked up a banana and sniffed it. “I don’t think it’s poisoned.”“Whew…” Catherine was relieved to hear that.“But don’t recklessly eat from a random store,” Sheryl warned. “No, you shouldn’t eat from any store or from any place unless y

The Return of Don Denver CHAPTER 535
The arrow destroyed the trees, roots and soil alike, leaving a huge crater in the ground.Bodies of multiple people were strewn across the field.Sedrick sat straight and peered downward, trying to see the dead bodies for himself.“I got them,” Zinga was saying. “All of them.”But Sedrick saw that the bodies were nothing more than wooden puppets. And the smile in his eyes vanished. “All of them? Look again.”Zinga already saw it and frowned. “T-They got me. They cloaked the dolls with multiple auras, making them appear as people and used them as decoys while the real ones escaped.”“Can you still spot them?” Sedrick asked, appearing visibly upset.Zinga looked around through the monocle. “No.”“They must have gone deeper into the ground then,” Sedrick got up. “You couldn’t even get rid of one of them.”“But I injured Denver,” Zinga reminded him. “He won’t be able to use his left arm for a while.”“His left arm was already wounded, so there’s not much of a difference now,” Sedrick snor

The Return of Don Denver CHAPTER 534
Sheryl stabbed the brothers in the thigh with wooden spears.“You fucking bitch!” the brothers growled at Sheryl. “Our information will definitely help you. We know the origins of Den bank and why you shouldn’t associate yourself with it. Don’t you want to know about the masked swordsman who approached you recently, Don Denver?”Denver’s expression changed.“Don’t listen to their nonsense,” Sheryl said, twisting the wooden spears, making the brothers cringe in pain. “They are cleverly trying to make us poke our own eyes.”“The same guy approached us, too!” Brother Linen growled through pain. “We refused to join that organization, but we’ve gathered intel on it. It’s information that will save your lives.”“Oink all you want. I’m not buying your shit,” Sheryl pulled the spears out and was going for the kill.“Wait,” Denver said.Sheryl stopped the spears at the last second, which made the brothers grin.“Boss, you can’t trust a word that comes out of these bastards,” Sheryl said. “They

I just started to the book. Normally, I don't read books of this genre, the "poor to rich" cliche. However, the writing of the Main character…Denver is just perfect. He is a hero, a brave character with or without his wealth or power. I'm looking forward to completing this book.

it's not a bad book, as you get more into it it's more fantasy related which I really appreciate, it does need to be edited a little bit better.
