Nicklaus stepped away from the door, unable to comprehend why Gabriel was so determined to frustrate him.

"You know I could sue you in court," Nicklaus said.

"For what?" Gabriel asked, genuinely curious.

Nicklaus swallowed hard before responding. "Stop acting like you don't know what I'm talking about. If you hadn't intervened, my sister would have died in this hospital, and you didn't care. But look at you now, trying to take credit for something you didn't do."

He paused, then added, "I'm not worried about that, but you should know that everything has a price. For taking credit for my work, I don't owe this hospital a single penny."

Gabriel paused for a moment, then burst into laughter.

"You're a clown, man! Trust me, you're a complete joke," Gabriel said between fits of laughter.

He turned to Stella and said quietly, "Did you hear what your pathetic husband just said? He thinks he has a voice in the presence of successful people. Damn! Stella, your father was right—you've spoiled this man."

Nicklaus quickly glanced at his sister, who had stopped coughing but still needed water.

"I was just trying to be a good wife. I didn't want people to think I was heartless," Stella said, feigning innocence. But Nicklaus narrowed his eyes—his perception of Stella had completely changed.

Suddenly, they heard another knock at the door. Gabriel quickly opened it, hoping to see police officers.

"Good afternoon..." Gabriel's words trailed off when he saw two men in black suits flanking a man in a navy blue suit.

"Hello, I'm looking for Mr. Nicklaus Henshaw," the man in the blue suit said, causing a smug smile to appear on Gabriel's face.

Gabriel opened the door wide and turned to Nicklaus. "Looks like you've done something wrong. Indeed, a poor man will always behave like one. I doubt there'll be any bail this time."

Nicklaus was confused but tried to maintain composure—he didn't want his uncertainty to show.

He was about to ask the men why they were looking for him, but Gabriel didn't give him a chance.

"Go with them, you criminal. Not only did you lose respect here, you also lost it elsewhere..."

"Did he ever have respect here to begin with?" Stella asked, folding her arms.

The suited men ignored Gabriel and Stella, focusing their attention on Nicklaus, who stood unmoved.

Indeed, they say a clear conscience fears no accusation.

"We're from the Fin household. We're here regarding the old man," one of them said.

The moment Nicklaus heard these words, his heart began racing. While treating the old man, the ingredients he'd used weren't complete, so he feared the treatment might not have worked.

Nicklaus knew that when people do good for others, they often forget easily and see no need to show appreciation.

"Why are you here?" Nicklaus asked, waiting for their response.

The man took an envelope from his briefcase. "My name is Earl. What I have here is an agreement you need to sign."

"What kind of agreement?" Gabriel asked immediately.

"Mr. Henshaw, I'm here to escort you to the Fin villa. The household requires your immediate presence," Earl explained.

Gabriel grinned. "What have you done this time? Do you know who the Fin family is? Crossing them is like paving your path to hell."

"I once encountered Linda, the heir to the Fin family fortune. I was amazed by her wealth—she reeked of money," Stella said.

"I've always wished to be like her, to go places she frequents with such ease," she added.

"Come with us, sir," Earl said.

"Don't bother calling him 'sir'—he's a nobody who depends on menial jobs to survive," Gabriel said, looking Nicklaus up and down.

Stella bit her lip, wondering why anyone from the Fin family would want to see Nicklaus.

"Why would the Fin family want anything to do with him?" Stella asked, arms still folded. She approached the men, placing her hand on one of their collars and brushing it off with a warm smile.

"Is he in some kind of trouble? What has he done now?"

The man pushed her hand away and frowned. "That's confidential, ma'am."

Nicklaus decided to go with them. The men weren't giving him a choice—regardless of his decision, they planned to take him with them.

"I need to get water for my sister before I come with you," Nicklaus said firmly.

Without hesitation, they stepped aside to let him pass.

Nicklaus turned to look at Gabriel and saw the rage on his face.

He bit his lip and thought to himself, "Surely, after taking all this credit, when patients need real help, let's see how he'll manage."

He left the room to get water. As people stared at him in the hallway, Nicklaus felt like an outcast, but he tried to keep his head high and act as if nothing was wrong.

As Nicklaus walked through the hall, his eyes immediately fell on Frederick.

Nicklaus opened his mouth to speak but instantly paused, thinking that this might bring shame to his family name. Mentioning his father's name over such a trivial matter seemed beneath his dignity."You don't deserve to know," Nicklaus said, causing the police officer to growl in anger before clenching his fist and throwing a punch at Nicklaus's face."You don't know what's good for you," the police officer barked.Nicklaus bit the corner of his lip and chuckled dryly before lifting his head to look at the officer. "I'll remember this assault and make sure you regret it."His words infuriated the officer even more, and he grabbed Nicklaus's collar and said angrily, "You have the nerve to speak disrespectfully? Don't worry, I'll break your spirit in this room and teach you how to beg for mercy."He punched Nicklaus's face again, so hard that Nicklaus could taste blood in his mouth."Look at you! Your body's so weak. What kind of petty thief are you?" The officer said, pushing Nicklaus

"You're more foolish than I thought. I wonder what lie you'll tell the police when they get here," Stella said after Gabriel ended his call with the police."You know, it's all your fault! No one would have involved the police if you had let us go without insisting we compensate you," Gabriel said, trying to provoke Nicklaus."Look how he's dressed in that torn shirt, riding in an expensive Lincoln. You're dressed like the beggar you are," Stella spat."What did they used to call you again... Oh yes! Nicklaus the loser. You should be living in a dumpster," Gabriel added, expressing his contempt.Nicklaus bit his lip, trying to control his anger, but he was reaching his limit. Just as he was about to react, police sirens caught their attention."It's time for you to face judgment, Nicklaus," Stella said smugly."Let's see who faces judgment," Nicklaus responded calmly."Thank goodness you're here, officer. That's the criminal right there—deal with him," Gabriel said, pointing to Nickla

Rita wasn't discharged that day. The hospital couldn't stop talking about Nicklaus. Chris and Nicklaus drove back to the villa in the Lincoln limousine when suddenly, Nicklaus remembered that today was Derek's birthday—his only friend from college."Damn, I almost forgot I have somewhere important to be.""Where is that?" Chris asked."A friend of mine is having a birthday party," Nicklaus informed him, causing Chris to nod."Young Master, could I get your phone number so I can call you if needed?" Chris asked, but Nicklaus had to share disappointing news."I don't have a phone," he informed him. Chris was stunned but immediately composed his expression."Actually, the iPhone company created a new model, and since our conglomerate bought a significant share with them, they gifted us some of their latest products," Chris informed him, causing Nicklaus to nod.The iPhone company was just one of many companies that Chris had bought shares in over the years using the conglomerate's name.

"I'm sorry, sir. I didn't know that bothered you," Chris said."You keep saying different things, and I don't even know anything about him," Nicklaus said while Chris bowed his head to apologize again."It's just funny how I thought my father was transparent. I thought it would be easy to see through him, but unfortunately, I was wrong," Nicklaus said.He was completely serious, and Chris could tell that Nicklaus still resented the fact that his father hadn't told him about this secret life.It was hard for Nicklaus to forget—he tried to push aside the fact that he'd been humiliated by people he was actually superior to. He had worked day and night, yet each paycheck was cut short while his father owned multimillion-dollar companies somewhere."You're all the same," Nicklaus said, quickening his pace before walking out. The call was loud enough for Nicklaus to hear what the other person said."What's wrong?" Nicklaus asked with a frown."I think there's something wrong at the hospital," Nicklaus said, standing up while Chris did the same."Did they specify the kind of emergency?" Nicklaus inquired, but Chris shook his head."No, they didn't," Chris muttered as they exited the building and walked to the parking lot. "Is this the car here to pick us up?" Nicklaus asked."Yes, sir," Chris replied, causing Nicklaus's eyes to widen in shock. The cost of a Lincoln limousine was astronomical—Nicklaus was certain that even if he worked day and night for the rest of his life, he wouldn't be able to save enough money for such a vehicle."You don't like it, sir? I can have the driver change it to something you're more comfortable with," Chris offered, causing Nicklaus to chuckle softly. He was stunned—this was his first time getting this close to such an expensive car.He got into the vehicle and was immediately awed by the luxurious interior. Chris entered as well, maintaining a serious expression while reviewing his iPad.Nicklaus was certain everything on the iPad was work-related, as Chris didn't seem like the social type."Please, sir, you should review all these documents," Chris said, picking up a white file beside him.As Nicklaus took the file, he kept his eyes fixed on it.
