Andrea's eyes reddened in anger as he watched Brian wrap his hand around his wife's waist.
It was no surprise to him when she pulled his hand from her waist and glared at Brian.
He wanted to rush toward the bastard who dared to abuse him of his incapability to walk in the presence of his wife but he couldn't so he calmed his nerves.
He was angrier at his wife that she couldn't shun or scold Brian when he was berating him in her presence. All she could do was watch her so-called business partner.
He ignored Brian like he didn't exist and faced his wife. He moved closer to her while clutching his crutches firmly. "How was work today? And hope it wasn't stressful," he said even though his heart was burning with rage.
He believed she had no strength to scold Brian because she might be tired and it was unlike her not to defend him even in an ugly situation.
She works in one of the most popular publishing houses as a reporter and a part-time model because of her exquisite beauty.
"Yes, it wasn't. There's no way you can help rather than cleaning the house," she muttered in a low tone.
Although her voice was inaudible, he heard her clearly but he refused to believe it.
"Yes, I know. I have prepared your favorite meal so go inside, freshen up, and eat," he said and planted a soft kiss on her lips.
For the first time, she didn't resist or push him away like she used to even though she didn't kiss him back. Maybe she didn't want to embarrass him in the presence of her business partner, Brian. But there wasn't any difference because she didn't reciprocate any of it.
She forced out a smile and said in a calm tone. "I trust you on that. Prepare the table so I and my partner can eat," he looked up instantly after she finished her statement.
"You want me to prepare a dish for him as well?" He asked in a cold tone and she squeezed her face.
"Yes, you should because he's an important guest. Do you have a problem with that?" She asked and he nodded his head.
"Yes. I do. I can't…" Madam Brianna interrupted him before he could complete his statement.
"Who says he has a problem with it?" She asked in a cold tone and he shook his head with a sigh.
He knew she was going to add more fuel to the burning fire.
"Or do you have a problem with it?" She asked and he nodded his head.
"Yes, I do," he replied adamantly and they snarled.
"And what made you think you can make decisions in this house, huh?" She asked.
"That's because I'm your daughter's husband. And besides, he abused me for my inability to walk," he yelled, with his heart burning with rage.
"And who cares, huh? Why are you angry? Aren't you handicapped?" She asked and he took a deep breath trying not to let out his emotion.
"You're still your daughter's husband," he responded in a weak and low tone.
"I don't acknowledge you as my daughter's husband. When was the last time you brought something to the table? I'll make sure that will change soon," she said and he squeezed his face.
He bit on his lower lips as he tried to control the tears that threatened to pour from his eyes.
He wanted to regret pushing his wife from the running vehicle on the highway but he couldn't because he loved her.
He lost everything after he got into the vehicle in front of his wife who crossed the road recklessly. Every good thing he had crumbled because of the accident and his life never remained the same.
"Do you know who he is? He's Brian, the owner of the Globe Oil company, one of the most flourishing oil companies in the State," she said proudly and he shivered.
Although he wasn't mesmerized by worldly things, he wondered how a young man like Brian owned such a prestigious company.
"I'll do it," he muttered and turned.
"You have no choice. Go and do as you've been instructed, you wimp," Brian said and adjusted his suit properly.
Brian was trying to make a good first impression about himself to his girlfriend's mother. "Good day, ma'am." He greeted her respectfully.
He was somewhat jealous of Adrian. How could a handicapped be surrounded by beautiful ladies? And he was Sandra's husband.
"Good day, my son. Sorry about earlier. Don't mind him," she said and glanced at Adrian, who was departing to the kitchen.
"That's not something to bother ourselves about," he replied calmly and they all sat down in the dining room.
Shortly, Adrian returned with a tray full of different delicacies of food. He dropped it on the table and just as expected, he served the dishes with his left hand while he clenched his crutches firmly with his right hand so he wouldn't fall.
"Hey," his mother-in-law, Brianna, called him back before he could leave.
"What is it, ma'am?" He asked in a little bit of a distressed voice and she frowned.
"Well, I hope you're aware that my daughter's birthday is tomorrow. You're not allowed to come empty-handed so find something to do," she waved her hand at him dismissively after she was done with him.
She called him back when she remembered something. "I want you to get some groceries from the Major store," she said and he frowned.
"But we still have some groceries that would be sustainable for two weeks," he said but she refused.
"Would you take and leave?" She asked and threw her credit card in his face.
"Spend the money wisely," she said conclusively, giving no room for discussion.
He knew she was trying to send him away so she could talk to that so-called millionaire, Brian, in the house. She didn't even give him a list of what to buy.
The Major shop was a few kilometers away from the house and there wasn't any taxi or bus so he had to trek there despite his inability to walk on his own. He had to depend on the crutches.
By the time he got home, he was exhausted. He dragged the bag full of different food items into the house and threw them into the food store.
Where are they? He asked himself with a confused look after checking two rooms without finding any of them. The guest, his wife, and his mother-in-law.
Just as he climbed the stairs that led to the master bedroom, he froze on a spot when he heard a soft voice more like a moan coming from the master bedroom, and it was the voice of his wife that he heard.
"Ahh… go deeper…"

Chapter 67
“How could you do such a thing?” Adrian began to blame him and Daniel didn't like it. “Fine. I shouldn't have done such a thing but I have no choice,” Daniel said and Smith stared at him with a confused look on his face. “What do you mean? You have always had a choice. You made it so what are you saying about it?” He asked with an angry look on his face. “You won't blame me. Not like it's my fault anyway.”“If you'd listened to me when I told you to stop giving free meditation, I wouldn't have done such a thing but you didn't listen instead you ignored me,” Daniel said and he shrugged. “How could you do such a thing because of that, huh? What if that man went overboard and burned down this place just like he'd threatened?” Adrian half-yelled and he shook his head with a sigh. “Fine. I shouldn't have done it. And I'm very sorry. Please forgive me,” he said and Adrian scoffed. “Get the hell out of my face,” he said in a cold tone and Daniel nodded his head. “You won't forgive me
Chapter 66
“What are you talking about?” The man blinked twice and looked away. “I don't know unless you tell me the person who paid you to frame me,” Adrian said in a cold and firm tone. The man looked up and glanced at his face then looked away quickly. “How did this cripple doctor know too much?” He asked himself but he couldn't get an answer. He couldn't get the reason why Adrian was able to uncover his flaws within seconds just after touching his hand and checking his pulse. Adrian smirked discreetly when he noticed the look on the old man's face. He knew what the old man was hiding. What the man didn't know was that he wasn't only a local doctor but he was a smart one indeed. The man admitted to the claims that he changed the prescription but he didn't tell anyone who told him to change the prescription. The man does not know the medical field so he couldn't change the drugs anyhow. And besides, he was desperate. It could be whether he was convinced to change the prescription or som
Chapter 65
“You'll burn down my burn for what? What have I done wrong? So it's my fault treating you,” Adrian said in a calm tone. He remained indifferent and unfazed. He didn't care. He was ready for whatever that was going to happen because he knew that the illness should have healed up by then. “Don't give us that crap. It seems you don't care about your life, huh?” one of those men asked with an angry look on his face. “I do but you have to give me a few details before you can conclude that I'm sent to him or whatever.”“Or is this how you're going to treat me even after treating you for free?” Adrian asked in an annoyed tone and they scoffed. “That's the main reason why I'm suspicious of you. Who else gives medicine for free in this recession, huh?” The man spoke up in a harsh tone and he took a deep breath. Adrian bit on his lower lips and clenched into his crutches then approached the man, who glared at him disdainfully. “What are you doing?” One of those men asked and surrounded th
Chapter 64
The next day, he opened his eyes as his alarm blared out loudly. He groaned out with a frustrated look on his face and reached out to the alarm on the table then put it off. “Why do you have to disturb me, huh?” He asked and stood up from the bed. He yawned and rubbed his hand on his eyes. He reached out to the crutches on the floor and clenched them close to himself. “Ahh…” he grunted out in pain as he struggled to climb down from the bed with the crutches. He limped toward the nightstand where his phone was ringing. He reached out to it and picked it up from the nightstand. He rested his arm on crutches and swiped through the phone with his right hand. He arched his eyebrows with a confused look on his face as he stared at the caller ID, which turned out to be Chloe. Why is she talking to him? He asked himself but he couldn't get an answer to it. He took a deep breath and picked the call then placed the phone close to his ears. “Hello,” he spoke up in his cold tone. “Hello,
Chapter 63
By the time Adrian arrived home, he was tired and his body was aching seriously. He took a deep breath as he stood before the door and glanced at it with uncertainty in his heart. He couldn't stop feeling bad for what he said to Mr. Daniel. Mr. Daniel looked hurt and heartbroken after he made such a statement. He wished he could reverse what he said but it was too late. The deed has already been done. He could only beg him and ask for his forgiveness to soothe his heart. I knocked at the door and the door creaked open, revealing Daniel who was in a singlet and a short. “Welcome,” he said casually and turned to the left. “Daniel,” he called him back but Daniel pretended as though he didn't hear him. “Please don't leave yet,” he said and Daniel stopped on his track then turned to him. “What's the problem?” Mr. Daniel asked with a cold look on his face and he hit on his lower lips, unaware of what to say or do. “About what I said to you earlier. I know I shouldn't have judged you
