Mo Yueli’s maidservant fell to her knees, her hands covering her lips. “No… Sect Leader is going to kill me.” She let out a muffled cry.

Xie Linger and the others stood transfixed, gaping at Mo Yueli’s situation.

“She is definitely going to die…” one of the men muttered.

“No, don’t say that!” The maidservant snapped, lowering her hands to her sides. Trembling, she rose to her feet, her eyes reddened.

She rushed over to Tang Luo and dropped to her knees before him, clasping her hands together. “Please, Tang Luo…” she choked out, tears welling in her eyes. “Please, help her.”

Xie Linger shifted her gaze to her, the shock in her eyes now replaced with disgust. “Help her?” she scoffed.

The maidservant nodded, her attention still fixed on Tang Luo.

“Tang Luo, she is our princess. We can’t let her die.” Her voice cracked with emotion.

Xie Linger crossed her arms sharply. “That’s why she should have ran when we did. But no…”

“Stop it already!” the maidservant yelled. “I don’t know the beef you two have, but she is the princess of our sect, and it will be catastrophic if anything happens to her.”

Tang Luo let out an exhausted sigh. “Xiaomei, I understand you, but that monster…” He glanced at the serpent before looking back at Xiaomei. “That monster is cultivation levels above us. I can’t assure you that if we all attack it together, we won’t lose our lives in the process.”

Xiaomei’s crying intensified. “Please, I beg you. If all of you attack it simultaneously, I’m certain that you will be able to defeat it.”

Tang Luo stared at her for a moment longer.

Across the plain, Mo Yueli scrambled backward, her eyes widened with terror.

“No…” she muttered, her gaze lifted into the air, staring at the towering serpent.

Her fingers trembled, and so did her entire body. The mere sight of the creature sent a cold chill racing down her spine.

“I didn’t… expect this.” Her voice came out hoarse. Her eyes darted nervously as her throat went dry.

The serpent’s heads swayed menacingly, its pressure growing heavier by the second.

Without warning, it dove toward Mo Yueli.

She let out a sharp cry. She tried channeling qi into her feet and arms, but she couldn’t. It felt as though her meridians had been blocked.

A muffled groan tore from her throat.

“I can’t die like this,” she thought, her lips trembling.

Just as the serpent’s heads were about to reach her, she summoned every ounce of strength she had and rolled to the right, now facing the sky.

“Gah!”

She coughed, blood splattering onto the ground.

Swoosh!

That was the only thing she heard before she was hauled across the plain and slammed into a boulder. Her body slid down, leaving a trail of blood behind.

“Princess!” Xiaomei cried out, her voice echoing across the plain.

While all this was happening, Shen Wuyin remained still, the qi swirling around him growing more intense.

“Shit!” Tang Luo cursed under his breath.

Xiaomei collapsed onto the ground, wailing uncontrollably.

With terrifying speed, the serpent crossed the distance between itself and Mo Yueli.

One of its heads reached for her, its tongue wrapping around her torso and lifting her into the air. Her hands hung limply by her sides, while her ponytail loosened, sending strands of hair cascading downward.

Slowly, the serpent retracted its tongue.

Xiaomei wailed desperately, kicking her legs. “Tang Luo…” she choked.

Just then, Tang Luo’s bow and arrow materialized in his grip. Without a second thought, he released an arrow, aiming directly at the serpent’s tongue.

PEW!

The arrow pierced its tongue, but the serpent barely reacted. Instead, its gaze shifted toward Tang Luo.

“Oh no!” Tang Luo gasped.

Slowly, he lowered his bow, his heart thudding loudly in his chest.

Xiaomei staggered to her feet.

Xie Linger took a step back, her jaw slackening. “Tang Luo, you’ve attracted it… to us.” She rasped, clutching the sides of her robe.

Within the blink of an eye, the serpent loosened its hold on Mo Yueli.

She dropped with a dull thud.

A series of sickening cracks followed. Her eyes rolled back, and a thin pool of blood spread beneath her, soaking into the fabric of her robe.

“This is bad,” one of the others muttered, his attention fixed on the serpent.

Before they could properly process what had happened, the creature closed the distance.

It towered above them, casting its enormous shadow across the plain.

“Everyone, fight!” Tang Luo ordered.

With a sharp clang, Xie Linger’s hand fan materialized in her grip. The others followed suit. Within seconds, sledgehammers, swords, battle axes, daggers, pins, and elemental balls appeared.

Xie Linger glanced briefly at Shen Wuyin.

“This will be the best time for you to get up,” she muttered barely above a whisper.

Xiaomei stood among the others, her heart hammering against her chest. Her ears rang as a cold chill ran down her spine.

The serpent lurched forward.

With one swift movement, it sent half of them flying across the plain and crashing into the ground.

Xie Linger held her ground despite the fear tightening her throat.

With a sharp click, she activated her technique. Spikes shot from her fan toward the serpent’s eyes.

Just as they were about to reach their target, the spikes abruptly halted in mid-air.

“What the…”

PEW!

They reversed direction and came hurtling back at lethal speed.

Without thinking, Xie Linger activated her protective barrier. A burnt-rose globe formed around her.

The others raised theirs in unison. Xiaomei stood inside one of the barriers with another man, trembling in her boots.

The spikes pierced through Xie Linger’s barrier. Large cracks spread across its surface.

She poured more qi into it, her face twisting in agony.

The more qi she added, the more spikes rained down.

“I hadn’t released these many strikes, so how come?” she wondered, holding her hands toward the center of the barrier.

Burnt-rose flames surged from her palms into the barrier.

Tang Luo, despite himself, fired another arrow. This time, it struck the serpent’s scales.

He didn’t give the creature a chance to react. Another arrow followed, then another.

Within seconds, more than fifty arrows were lodged in its body.

The elemental cultivators hurled their attacks forward, the different energies swirling around the serpent’s torso.

Yet the creature remained motionless, as though their attacks were nothing more than an inconvenience.

POW!!

The arrows ripped themselves free, followed by the elemental attacks.

With a thunderous surge, the elements turned back toward the men, engulfing them completely.

Their barriers faded.

Agonized screams filled the air.

Instinctively, the water cultivators combined their techniques and unleashed a large sphere, encircling everyone.

Just then, the qi surrounding Shen Wuyin slowed.

Within the blink of an eye, the constellation beneath him vanished.

He rose to his feet, his eyes still shut.

Taking a few blind steps forward, he lifted his hand.

A double-edged sword formed in his grip, its blade shimmering and catching the serpent’s attention.

Immediately, Shen Wuyin opened his eyes.

Green flames flickered within them, illuminating his irises.

The serpent lowered its heads. Green liquid dripped from their mouths onto the ground.

The moment it touched the earth, the area darkened, smoke hovering above it.

Before another drop could fall, Shen Wuyin shot into the air.

Mid-air, he swung the sword with lethal speed, aiming for the eye of the first head.

PEW!

The blade pierced through.

A thunderous roar tore from the serpent as it thrashed wildly, its wounded head recoiling.

Still suspended in the air, Shen Wuyin activated his spike technique.

Numerous spikes tore from his fingertips and plunged deep into the serpent’s scales, sending it crashing to the ground.

Shen Wuyin gave it no time to recover.

His sledgehammer materialized in his grip.

BANG!

He slammed it into the serpent, sending the massive creature crashing into the earth.

The ground cracked beneath its weight.

Shen Wuyin landed beside its head.

The serpent let out a terrifying hiss, venom spraying from its fangs.

Shen Wuyin ducked, the poisonous liquid missing him by an inch.

He moved swiftly.

The sledgehammer disappeared, replaced by a sword.

Without a second thought, he shot into the air and swung his blade.

The serpent’s heads split evenly, rolling across the plain.
