Chapter 7: The company's stock

“The man here is only young, why do you need an Intel on him as though he's an enemy?” The young man questioned Mr. Michael.

“I can see that you only need one thing, and that's to be relieved of your job, right!?”

“My apologies' sir” the young man replied and ran off with his tail between his legs.

***News Brief*****

“Woods Consortium was on the verge of bankruptcy but has successfully sold 90% of their stocks to a rich business mogul. As investors began to opt out and withdraw their stocks, the management of the Woods Consortium had no other option but to sell a large percent of the stocks to the highest bidder. The Woods Consortium is rising back to power”

Dang!

Director Johnson furiously threw his TV remote control to the ground after watching the heartbreaking news.

“How did this happen? “

“Secretary Laura, call for an emergency meeting at once!”

A few minutes later, the staff were all gathered in the meeting room, awaiting some sort of explanation and also curious about who bought the largest shares.

“The buyer was magnanimous to buy the shares of a crippling company”

“We might get a new Director soon”

“Fire and brimstone might rain today, the news was more like a mockery”

“Who could have done this?”

Director Johnson stomped into the meeting room, and walked towards his seat angrily.

“Stock manager Oliver!” Director Johnson's call frightened the average white man in glasses.

“Yes Director Johnson”

“Give us an explanation for this!” He tossed the afternoon paper to him. On reading the caption, he knew he was in for a lot.

“I got a call from a prospective investor and went over. He wanted 90% of the company's stock, which was somewhat inappropriate. I didn't oblige at first, but after hearing his offer of buying it three times the price, I had no option but to sell it. Our stocks would not have gone up if I didn't sell it”

The stock manager replied, trying to look confident, smart, and cool.

“Three times the price?”

“Who could the investor be?”

“He's super rich, obviously”

Director Johnson became as red as a bell pepper after hearing the manager's statement and the unwanted chattering from the staff.

“Enough!”

His voice brought everyone to as halt as they only sat and waited for the next thing to happen.

“Manager Oliver, you've done more harm than good. We're left with only 10% of the company's stock, which is highly unacceptable. You very well know the disadvantage of having little percent of stocks in your establishment”

“We would have eventually drowned if I had refused to sell it. Either way, I did more good than harm” manager Oliver fired back, looking the least moved by everything.

“You!”

Director Johnson screamed and fell to his chair.

****San Jose***

Having nothing else to do, Donald drove out of the office intending to driving around the city.

Beep! Beep!

Donald plugged in his AirPods and answered the call. “Greetings Mr. Donald, I'm Richmond, your assigned lawyer from Grandeur real estate. The 40 square meters of the 60 flats have been put up for rent and prospective buyers have shown interest”

“Okay?” Donald replied nonchalantly, throwing the lawyer into a state of confusion.

“When will you be free? So we can meet and agree on a price” Richmond probed further.

“Okay I got it” Donald replied and hung up at once.

On arriving at his house, Donald parked his car and walked in, only to be greeted by tons of new faces.

“Welcome, young master”

“What would you like to have for lunch?”

“A hot bath or a cold bath master?”

“I'll let you know once I need anything. Donald replied, looking resolute before going upstairs.”

“Black Kaka'ri?”

[Master]

“I can't really read the minds of just anybody except that of Mr. Michael, why is that?”

Donald questioned the bracelet and waited for an answer, only to get a knock on the door.

“Young master, there's a man and woman waiting for you” one of the housekeepers divulged from outside his room.

Donald stood up from the bed while wondering who could have found the way to his new residence in barely 24 hours.

“Could it be the lawyer?”

Donald stopped in his tracks after seeing the duo waiting for him.

“The Allison's?”

“Donald, my son. It's so good to see you again” Mrs. Allison was the first to speak up.

Donald remained silent as his eyes darted from Mr. Allison to his wife, Mrs. Allison.

{I hope he doesn't chase us or do any of what we did to him to us.}

{A smile and a warm attitude should solve everything, shouldn't it? He'd be so stupid if he doesn't accept us back, after all, we're the only family he knows}

Donald heard their thoughts, loud in his ear, but only let out a smile before sitting down.

“I don't remember inviting you or giving you my phone number, to talk more of my address.”

“We got your address from an acquaintance in Grandeur real estate, so we decided to come say hello.” Mr. Allison finally spoke up while acting sober.

“In the past six years, I heard no word from you both, so why the change? This wasn't what you promised, remember?”

The duo kept mute with their eyes fixated on the floor.

“I guess you must have forgotten, let me remind you. You chased me out to the streets in the cold night, starved me, disowned me and asked me never to show my face again. How come you're the one showing your faces now?”

Tapping her husband, Mrs. Allison really wanted her husband to say something strong as the man, but the latter remained mute; hence, she had no option but to say something.

“That's in the past now, you shouldn't hold it against us, after all, we took care of you for years” Mrs. Allison retorted with an entitled look on her face.

“Really.?”

Donald yelled, causing the security to throw the old duo out of his house.

[Master]

In the midst of his fury, Donald heard the black Kaka'ri's voice calling out to him.
