"Mother, what's going on?" Amora frowned as Zuri suddenly grabbed her hand the moment they arrived home.

"Just follow me. Don't ask too many questions."

Zuri firmly gripped her daughter's wrist, leading her somewhere. Amora remained silent, following her mother's steps.

"Now, hurry up and change into this." Zuri took out a dress from a large box.

Before she could ask, Amora was pulled into the bathroom, and Zuri even closed the door behind her.

Amora stared at the dress for a moment. An elegant black gown—but she couldn't help but wonder why her mother wanted her to wear it.

"Are you done yet?" Zuri called out from outside the bathroom.

"Just a second," Amora replied as she quickly put on the dress. She would ask about it later.

When she stepped out of the bathroom wearing the gown, Zuri's face immediately lit up with delight.

"Wow, that dress looks absolutely perfect on you." Zuri twirled Amora around. "The size fits perfectly too."

Amora remained silent, just as she did when Zuri pu

Seeing this, Zuri immediately furrowed her brows.“Oh, so you hired some cheap thugs to ruin my daughter’s wedding?” Zuri scoffed, clicking her tongue as she glared at the four men standing behind Blake. “What did he promise you?”She sneered, wondering what kind of lies Blake had told them to make them follow him here. She was convinced that Blake didn’t have the money to pay them.“Listen, don’t be fooled by this fool.” Zuri placed one hand on her waist and pointed at them.“You’re making a mistake by siding with him because this man has absolutely no money. The small box given by the prince contained a ring engraved with a black dragon emblem at its center. It was the royal crest. Anyone who saw that symbol would immediately know who it belonged to. Michael smiled confidently and crossed his right leg over his left. “I’m serious.” Of course, there was a deeper meaning behind the gift of the black dragon ring. It was meant to forge an alliance and gain more advantages than he had originally hoped for — and Blake understood that intention well. Blake looked at the man sitting across from him. “I might not bring you any results at all.” Blake didn’t want to make any promises to Michael. He didn’t want to promise profit or loss, because he didn’t want to create distance between them if Michael’s expectations didn’t align with what Blake could deliver. But Michael still looked confident. He leaned back in his chair, completely at ease. “I believe you're not just an ordinary man, and I’m confident you won’t disappoint me,” Michael raised

Before she could dwell further on the unfamiliar sensation, the sharp sound of heels striking against the wooden floor broke the silence. At the threshold of the living room, Zuri stood with an expression far from pleased. Her red lipstick was slightly faded—a sign of a long day—and her narrowed eyes bore into Blake with unwavering intensity. "So, you still have the nerve to show up here," she said, her voice cold and firm. Amora sighed. She knew her mother better than anyone, and that tone of voice always meant trouble. Blake remained composed. With a calm movement, he removed his jacket and hung it by the door before turning to face Zuri. His gaze remained steady, as if he had already anticipated this confrontation. "Is there something you want to discuss?" he asked, his tone neutral but far from friendly. Zuri stepped closer, clutching her expensive clutch bag tightly. Her eyes were filled with barely restrained anger. "Do you think I’m an idiot, Blake?" she spat. "Yo
