"Oh, snap. Sorry about that Ambs." Lewis apologizes, but there is humor acting around his eyes, so Amber knows he is far from being sorry.

"Do. Not. Call. Me. That!", Amber speaks through her teeth to signify that she is past the point of fun and games. Lewis laughs out loud.

"I knew I would get to you. No one has an antidote against the Lewis fever." Lewis says with a laugh.

"More like the Lewis Virus. Back to business, Lewz. What do you have for me? What did you find at the site of the crime scene?" She makes a funny facial expression when she calls him Lewz, it is probably her little effort in getting back at Lewis for making tacky nicknames out of people's names. She puts on a serious face and waits for his response.

Lewis first fiddles with keys and looks like he is thinking. He shakes his head animatedly.

"I do not have all day, Lewis. Get to it."

"Well, I, no, we found a dead man who was beheaded and severely murdered."

"We?" The Lieutenant looked at him with a raise of her right eyebrow.

"The forensics were already at the spot before I got there. I saw the body and the house."

"Okay… what else do you have?"

"Calm your horses, Amber, because my mind has been caught in a knot and we are going to find a way to figure this knot out."

Amber looks at him and her frustration is beginning to show.

"Stop your antics and go straight to the point."

"Alright, alright. There are traces of dried blood on the floor of his living room. His head was severed off.  And we also found a writing on the mirror in Latin. If translated into English, it says 'Doctor Richard made me do it'. Then, I went home to do a background check on who Richard could be."

"You did what?" Amber asks with a look on her face that is kin to shock.

"I checked out our guy, Richard. That is our first lead, you know."

"Not that. You went home directly from the crime scene?" Amber asks again to be certain she heard what he said right.

"Yeah. I know I was supposed to stop by but I was trying to connect the loose ends on the thread, I had no idea I had driven past this place." Lewis explained.

"Lewis, you do know that this is a high-profile case. It is kin to a homicide. You are aware of this right?" Amber asks with a scary kind of calm.

"Yeah. Duh, how would I not know that?" Lewis scoffs after saying this.

"You arrive at the scene of a possible homicide, you know you have been ordered to report back to the station once you are done. You are also aware that certain parties involved in this murder might be watching the house. Am I right?" Amber asks again.

"I do not know where this is going, but I like the build-up," Lewis says, bobbing his head.

"So, with your complete use of your faculties and the active presence of your consciousness, you knowingly put your residence in danger just because you drove past the office and did not want to turn around?"

"Well, if you put it that way…"

Amber does not allow him to finish when she bangs her fist on the table and this makes Lewis jerk backwards in surprise.

"I do not know why I keep trusting you with cases!"

"Because you know I never lose a case?" Lewis says with a small smile tugging at his lips.

"You are too reckless. Is there anything else I need to know about this case?"

"Well, I checked out Richard, and turns out he is the owner of that big hospital that was involved in a scandal that one time. He called out his son-in-law for killing innocent people and selling their organs. The entire force was after this man and he went into hiding and was never seen in the spotlight again. Richard's daughter gets involved with another doctor, Anthonio. Their romance is short-lived because Anthonio is later discovered by a blog making out with an Onlyfans model at a club. It seems like daddy Richard was in rage for the embarrassment Anthonio caused his baby girl because Anthonio has not been seen ever since then." Lewis says, breathing deeply at the last word.

"Wow. That is a lot to unpack right there. It feels like a telenovela that some kid's abuela could be obsessed with." Amber clicks at the end of her pen.

"I found a picture of Anthonio. He has this tattoo that looks strangely familiar. I kept wondering where I could have seen it before. I saved the photo. Take a look." Lewis opens his gallery and puts up a picture of Anthonio that he found on the internet.

"Hmmm. You took pictures of the crime scene. Good one." Amber says while staring carefully at the pictures before she scrolls to the next one. Lewis nods proudly and folds his arms, waiting for her to finish.

"Hold up. I saw the tattoo again." Amber declares in alarm. Lewis sits up and reaches out to get back the phone.

"Let me see."

"Oh Lewis, the tattoo was familiar because you had just seen it earlier during the day. The murdered man on the high profile case is Anthonio." Amber slumps into her seat with a hand on her forehead. She hands over his phone.

"Oh my God. This provides a big piece of the puzzle." Lewis declares, zooming into the picture of the deceased.

"How do you mean?"

"Well, if this is Anthonio. According to this evidence, it looks like it is him. Then we have a theory. Mr. Richard probably killed him for breaking his daughter's heart and looking into it, it looks like this is not his first attempt at defending his daughter."

"Look at that. Today's meeting wasn't useless after all. I will look into what you have proposed and start chasing our leads immediately". Amber says with a small smile, then silently dismisses him by looking into files on her table.
