Chapter twelve

The two brothers went into their limousine and set off. I was left standing there with no idea where to go.

I stopped a taxi, while having no money to pay him, and I gave him the address which Clarissa had given me.

Soon I was back in front of the gates of her mansion and as soon as I stepped out, the driver requested his payment, "Let me get the money, sir. I will be right back." I said to the taxi driver, with the hope that Clarissa would change her mind and give me money to pay for the taxi.

However, on hearing my reply, the taxi driver's face changed immediately. He stepped out of the car and stood in front of me with a serious look on his face,

"Look, sir, I do not want to cause a scene here. I have been played this way before. You want to go into that mansion and disappear without paying up. Give me my money right now." the taxi driver said to me.
