CHAPTER THIRTY-ONEDesmond followed Celeste at once, and as though she was waiting for him to make a move, Mira joined him, keeping up with his pace.Desmond was forced to slow down for the sake of the lady and her long heels.Laura sighed heavily, and turning to Desmond with a forced smile, she cleared her throat, preparing the words that she was about to get out of her mouth.“You walk so fast, Desmond…” She said calmly, attempting to catch her breath.“I am so sorry about that, Miss Trevor…” Desmond apologized at once, his tone almost seeming casual.“Please…” Mira said calmly, and then she took a deep breath while staring Desmond in the eyes just to be sure that he was still paying attention.“Call me Mira. Enough with all the formalities. We don’t have to be as official as our fathers. We are young and have a lot of time ahead of us…” She chuckled softly, and even though Desmond forced a smile while staring at her, there was nothing to show that he was ready to break his silence
