Meanwhile, Astrid had just arrived at her villa; she got out of the car with a gloomy face, as she didn't know how to resolve Adnan's issues.

However, when she reached the porch of the house, Jerico, the Deputy Director of Yanaga Corporation, was already waiting there with his assistant.

"Miss Astrid, I finally get to meet you," Jerico greeted politely.

Astrid frowned, staring at Jerico and his assistant closely before asking, "You...."

"Ah, sorry, I am Jerico Yuma. Director of Yanaga Corporation, here to discuss a partnership with you," he interrupted before Astrid could finish speaking.

"Miss Astrid, I'm going to the back! If you need to go, ask Firman to call me!" Suddenly Albert shouted and casually walked to the back.

Astrid turned around. "That damn beggar, I've really lost my mind hiring such rude people," she grumbled in annoyance.

Jerico observed Albert intently and immediately concluded in his mind. "A person who acts on his own and becomes Miss Astrid's bodyguard, could he be Mr. Yanaga?"

Jerico's assistant quickly whispered in his ear. "Mr. Yuma, it seems he is the person Mr. Rudi mentioned."

Jerico nodded in understanding. "You find an opportunity to speak with him, tell him that I will not disappoint him."

"Yes, Sir," replied Jerico's assistant obediently before leaving.

Astrid turned back to Jerico and said, "I'm sorry, Sir, that subordinate of mine hasn't learned manners yet."

Jerico smiled. "It's alright, I actually like people like him."

"Then let's talk inside," Astrid politely invited.

"Let's go, Miss...." Jerico gladly accepted Astrid's invitation.

As they entered the villa, Jerico observed the place, which was relatively small for a child from a second-tier family.

Previously, Jerico had also researched about Astrid, who was not acknowledged by her family; he concluded that it was likely her grandfather had feelings for Astrid, which was why he wanted to help her.

Once inside, Astrid asked Jerico to sit down, then instructed the servant to prepare drinks.

Astrid then opened the conversation. "Mr. Jerico, if you were sent by Mr. Adnan to discuss my service to him, could you give me some time to think first?"

"N-No, Miss, I came here to offer you the partnership directly, unconditionally," Jerico quickly replied, pulling out the partnership contract and immediately handing it to Astrid. "Please, Miss, sign here, and the partnership will officially belong to you."

Astrid furrowed her brow, confused about why Adnan suddenly changed his mind, and curiously asked, "Mr. Jerico, but Mr. Adnan...."

"Ah, yes...." Jerico immediately stood up and bowed, "I represent Yanaga Corporation to apologize for the inconvenience that has befallen Miss Astrid. Now, Adnan has been fired and arrested; I will take over his position."

"Fired and arrested?!" Astrid exclaimed in shock.

Jerico stood tall again and smiled. "That's right, Miss, from now on I am responsible."

Astrid fell silent, confused; she felt everything was nonsensical. Why was Adnan suddenly fired after having issues with her?

Adnan held great power, even the wealthy people in his country respected him greatly, yet he was dismissed just like that.

Seeing Astrid looking confused, Jerico calmly sat back down in front of her before speaking again. "Miss Astrid need not worry, all of Adnan's family has also been expelled from the city, their assets have been taken over; you could say the George family has been destroyed."

Astrid widened her jaw in disbelief. "Mr. Jerico, this...."

Jerico smiled. "Miss Astrid doesn't need to worry about many things, if anyone dares to offend you, just contact me and you can write down the amount of funds you can manage in the cooperation contract, we will fulfill it."

Astrid felt something was odd, why was Yanaga Corporation suddenly so nice to her. She immediately checked the cooperation contract, fearing it might all be a trap.

However, as she read it carefully, the contract indeed matched Jerico's words and also bore the seal of Yanaga Corporation, meaning the contract was genuine.

"What is this? Wait a minute... yesterday Albert said I would get a cooperation contract and even in the elevator, could it be...." Astrid began to speculate in her heart about Albert's identity. However, she quickly dismissed it, "no, no, I saw with my own eyes that he was just a beggar, how could he possibly have a connection with Yanaga Corporation?"

"Miss Astrid, please sign," Jerico gently urged.

Astrid quickly came to her senses and forced a smile. "I will sign, but regarding the amount of funds I can manage, it's up to you, Mr. Jerico."

"Alright, how about 500 billion? Later, the other two cooperation contracts will each receive 150 billion, is that satisfactory for you, Miss?" Jerico replied swiftly.

"F-Five hundred billion?" Astrid widened her jaw in disbelief.

Jerico nodded firmly. "That's right, Miss, if that's not enough you can contact me, we can change the contract later," he said while handing her a business card from the table.

Astrid looked at Jerico closely, she truly did not understand why the man was so attentive to her and would change the contract just like that. Clearly, this was an exceptional treatment above and beyond.

She suspected there was something Jerico was hiding, as this cooperation was very advantageous for the Ramon family.

"Five hundred billion is more than enough. Mr. Jerico, but why are you so nice to me, don’t tell me...." Astrid asked inquisitively with a doubtful gaze.

Jerico immediately raised his palm in front of Astrid and waved it. "Miss, I wouldn't dare to think that far, please don't make it difficult for me," he said in a fearful tone.

Astrid chuckled softly, she saw the expression of fear on Jerico's face, indicating that the man did not dare to do anything bad to her, which meant someone was pressuring him, but who had power over the Director of Yanaga Corporation?

At the same time, Albert was seen lounging in front of the back kitchen door while enjoying coffee made by Rini.

"Life should indeed be like this, enjoying coffee while relaxing," Albert murmured with a proud smile.

"Greetings, Sir!" Suddenly, Jerico's assistant came in and bowed in front of Albert.

Seeing this, Albert frowned. "Who are you?"

Jerico's assistant stood up straight again before introducing herself. "Sir, my name is Sisil, assistant to Mr. Jerico Yuma who is now the Director of Yanaga Corporation."

Albert set his coffee cup aside and asked, "What brings you to meet me, just a guard?"

"You are too humble, I just wanted to convey that Mr. Yuma will perform his duties well and will not disappoint you," Sisil said quietly but firmly.

Hearing that, Albert immediately stood up and grabbed Sisil's neck. "How dare you inquire about me?!"

"Y-You misunderstand... Mr. Rudi told us...," Sisil replied stammering due to difficulty breathing.

At that moment, Rini came out bringing snacks for Albert, she was shocked to see the incident. "Albert, what are you doing?!"
