Desmond drove a car through an underground tunnel that was below their headquarters and reached almost three miles below the ground.

His father, Harold Green, was sitting in the back. “Is it really necessary for me to observe a mere wyvern’s corpse?”

“It’s not a mere wyvern, Dad. It’s a wyvern king’s corpse. And it’s not just any king, but the oldest wyvern king in history, Wyferon.”

“Mm…” Harold squinted his eyes. “Almost a hundred years ago, a squad made of Wyferon’s children broke out of a dungeon and attacked our city. Many people lost their lives. Dessmond drove the car straight to the chamber where the corpses of the wyverns were kept. In the middle was the wyvern king’s corpse, with the head and spine ripped out of the rest of the body.

“This is quite brutal…” Harold opined. “It doesn’t like there was a two-way fight.”
