"Oh, what's that?" Samuel asked, curiosity lacing his voice.

"I want to go back to my sect for a while. I have some matters to take care of there. I’ll return to you as soon as possible," she promised.

Samuel didn’t really care whether she returned or not; in fact, he might have been secretly happier if she didn’t. Still, he had to put on a show of being hurt.

"Is that so? I’d be lonely without you here," he said softly.

"Yes, you will," she nodded seriously.

They pushed against the broken wall, smashing it apart even further as the three lizard-like creatures forced their way inside. Standing nearly three meters tall, they looked utterly terrifying.Nina didn't give them the chance to complete their grand entrance. She thrust out her hand, sending a blazing fireball hurtling toward them."Screech!!!"The creatures scattered with astonishing agility before launching themselves at the duo like crazed beasts."Four Slashes of Heavenly Consortium!"Samuel met the one in the lead head-on. Soulrender flashed, and the creature was sliced cleanly across the waist. Without pausing for even a heartbeat, he pivoted and drove a vicious kick into the abdomen of the second monster, blasting it across the room with explosive force. At the same time, Nina bound the third creature with mana shackles before driving a mana spear straight down its gaping throat. The spear tore through its body, splitting it apart as blood gushed onto the floor. The second cr

"Alright." Nina nodded. The two of them got to work immediately. Nina brought down tree after tree while Samuel shaped the logs into a raft with swift, practiced movements. Wood chips flew through the air as his hands moved with effortless precision. Before long, the rough pile of timber had transformed into a remarkably sturdy raft."That was fast." Nina clasped her hands together, unable to hide her amazement."Anything that involves creating is my niche," Samuel said proudly as he began engraving several runes into the surface of the raft."What are you doing?" she asked curiously, watching glowing lines spread beneath his fingertips."I'm creating a self-driving raft. After installing the runes, I just need to insert a few energy stones, and we'll be able to control it with our minds while relaxing," he replied."Woah. That's very cool. I didn't know we could get so much out of just an ordinary raft," she said, running her fingers over the intricate rune patterns."I can turn anyt

Suddenly, green-skinned men burst from the bushes and tall grass, charging across the riverbank with savage cries as they swung their weapons."Shit! We're under attack!" Victor shouted. His instincts screamed. He rolled away just as a spear slammed into the spot where he had been lying moments earlier, the impact blasting dirt and shattered stones into the air.Had he reacted a heartbeat slower, the spear would have pierced straight through his skull.Victor sprang to his feet.Energy erupted from his body in a violent wave, forcing back the green-skinned warrior charging at him. Without wasting a single moment, he shot forward instead of retreating.Qi surged around his sword as Dharma spells condensed beside him.The glowing projectiles streaked through the air one after another.Several green-skinned warriors were blasted backward, explosions ripping open their flesh.Yet, to Victor's horror, the torn flesh writhed and crawled back together before sealing itself almost instantly.

"Yes." Ouyang nodded."Do you perhaps know anything about it?"The green-skinned man chewed thoughtfully on a piece of meat before nodding."I think I actually do. The place you're talking about is probably the Ruins of Alchemy. It's not far from here."Their eyes immediately lit up."You know the place? Can you give us directions?" they asked eagerly."Yeah. Follow the road on the left and keep going straight. Eventually, the path ends at a river. You'll have to cross it to reach the Ruins of Alchemy. The problem is, there's a barrier preventing anyone from getting close to the waters near the ruins. We can only view it from a distance or from a boat.""A barrier?" Tibeth frowned, his brows knitting together."At least we have a lead. We can worry about the barrier when we get there," Victor said."Thank you for the information, friends," Ouyang said. "We'll be on our way now."He rose to his feet, and the others followed."Wait. It's already getting late. Aren't you tired after figh

“Is it even safe?” Warren asked, frowning.“Yes, it's perfectly safe. We take this route all the time. Come on.” He beckoned them forward before walking straight toward the narrow opening. The others exchanged uncertain glances, silently debating whether they should follow him.Ozzai suddenly stepped forward and trailed behind him.Seeing him move, the others quickly followed. They filed through the narrow opening in the mountain, venturing deeper into its depths. The place was dark and gloomy, but that posed no problem for them. Everyone released their energy, bathing the entire passage in a soft glow. They followed the green-skinned man for nearly twenty minutes. By then, Ozzai's uneasiness had only grown stronger.“Are we not there yet? Are we ever going to reach it?” he asked.“Yes, rest assured, sir. We're almost there. Soon, you'll leave this place and enter a whole new open world... where you're going to serve as a meal!”His words reassured them at first. Then the last few wor

"Are we still following the direction they gave us?" Nina asked."Yes. I have a feeling they didn't lie about it," Samuel replied."I don't know... Not after they suddenly attacked us." Nina shrugged."Yes, you have a valid reason to be worried. But my instincts strongly believe it's the right direction. You know how accurate they can be sometimes."Nina nodded. "You're right."They continued walking in silence."I really hope we don't run into any more of those green-skinned humans anytime soon. They're incredibly strong, especially that Mathavios," Nina said."Yes," Samuel agreed."For someone without any energy, Mathavios is unbelievably powerful. If there are more towns like that one, it'll be disastrous if the others wander inside. Ozzai might be dead before we ever find him," Samuel said.Nina's brows furrowed."I don't want that to happen. He has to die by my hands!""He'll still die if they get to him first," Samuel said with a shrug."It's not the same! It won't be revenge if
