IRON’S POV

Athena arrived at the time when she should, and she came right to my chamber.

“Lord Dante,” she greeted with a slight bow.

“What is the update?” I asked Athena without wasting time.

This was an opportunity that I didn’t want to pass up on.

All day, I hadn’t seen or heard from Hades or Blake, and I suspected that they would sooner come to me, especially Blake, and I wanted Athena to tell me what she needed to before they came.

“The only challenge Nesse is having now is her mum,” Athena started. “The woman is back to the city,” she added.

Jules.

“Was she away?” I asked.

“She went on a honeymoon with her new husband, Arthur Loreson,” Athena answered.

I was surprised that Jules had married Arthur, but then again, I wasn’t entirely surprised because Jules was nothing but a greedy woman.

Wasn’t Arthur Loreson that wealthy and powerful older man?

I knew him because once or twice, I had heard her try to talk to Nesse about his son, although I never got to know his name, and he was

  • The Attacker?

IRON’S POV“Hades, what is this?” I asked Hades. He seemed shocked, not because he didn’t know that that mark was on his body, but because I found out.“What did I just see?” I asked him fiercely.Hades used his cloak to cover up the scar again, and it dawned on me that I should have been suspicious of him from the very beginning. Wearing a cloak in the Organization at this time of the day didn’t even appear logical, but because of the issue at hand, I hadn’t been paying much attention of appearances.Hades then turned to leave, but I was fast enough to stop him by grabbing him by his arm.“Don’t you dare walk out on me while I am still talking to you, Hades,” I said with annoyance. My heart was beating very fast, and for the first time in a really long time, a certain kind of fear engulfed me, so much so that I couldn’t even think out loud what I was feeling deep inside seeing that mark at the back of Hades’ ear.“Let me go, Iron,” he stated tightly.Hades wasn’t remorseful. He wasn

  • An Almost Betrayal

IRON’S POVI saw how enraged Hades was, and what he had been about to do, and so I simply said what needed to be said. I would have said it anyway.Blake’s eyes flashed with curiosity.“Is this a joke?” Hades asked me, forgoing whatever he was going to say that would have led to a greater disaster.I knew that he would be upset finding Blake in my chamber. Hades had been aggravated since the very moment I refused to kill Blake, and all attempt to make him come to acceptance had proven abortive recently, and I was sick and tired of trying, especially when there were more important things to handle. And I had expected that Hades, with his age and experience, would understand and act accordingly, but so far, he had gradually begun to turn into a thorn in my flesh that I couldn’t take out.“No, it is not a joke,” I responded firmly. At least, for now, what Hades had been about to do had been subdued.“We are waging war against them, and I need us to come together to talk about it before

  • Provoked To Spill

HADES’ POV“Hades, Lord Dante requires your presence in his chamber,” one of the Titans came to me and told me.To my astonishment, he came alone.“You now walk around alone?” I asked him. He smiled and said, “Yes, Hades. Blake’s teachings have been helpful, and I am now very equipped to fight back,” he responded with boldness. They had no idea how dangerous whatever was hovering around the Organization was.According to his words, it was a being from another realm that had been let into the Organization. Unfortunately, he couldn’t say more than that because he couldn’t foresee things. The only person that would have been able to reveal everything was the Seer, but I couldn’t go to him.And I certainly couldn’t ask Iron to go to him either. Not after what happened the last time.“So, you think you are fit to fight off any sort of attack?” I asked him, trying to sound as casual as I could.“A hundred percent sure, Hades,” he responded with eagerness.I wanted to say a few things, but

  • Skeletons And Secrets

JULES’S POVArthur walked into my room and saw me seated dejectedly on the bed.“You have been hiding away,” Arthur said as he walked closer to me.“Haven’t you been reading the news?” I asked, snapping at him.“Yes, but should you also be hiding from me? We are in this together,” Arthur said.I curled up my lips in disagreement.“Do you think I am not affected by this?” Arthur asked. “I am being criticized and bullied just as you are,” he added. He sat close to me on the bed, but as soon as I had the urge to get some distance between us, I shifted from him.If Arthur was offended by it, he didn’t say.“That godforsaken daughter of yours is really biting more than she can chew,” Arthur continued. “I knew your dead ex-husband to be a son of a bitch, but I didn’t think that his daughter would be worse,” he added.“The apple doesn’t fall far from the tree,” I snorted.“In Nesse’s case, she became the full apple tree,” he said bitterly.I wasn’t even concerned or bothered about the fact t

  • It Is Time

IRON’S POVI decided to watch Blake train the Titans. He had been doing so for a while now, and I hadn’t had the chance to watch him, and so I did. While he trained them, I watched, and I couldn’t deny how impressed I was. Some of Blake’s fighting skills were new, and I knew that they would be helpful. Also, I was relieved that he wasn’t hiding anything from them. Blake set his mind and heart to it, and as sweat poured out of him, he gave everything to the training, and I was certain that if they continued this way, they would be able to fend off the attack.I watched them until they were done with the training, and by the time they were done, they were all exhausted, and needed to catch some air.“Lord Dante,” Blake said as he walked to me.He didn’t even sound or look tired. The strength in Blake was something that I was yet to comprehend.Hades was enraged and jealous that I gave the assignment to Blake, but there was nothing he could have done to make me change my mind. • See You In Hell

NESSE’S POVAs early as I woke up, I called all my security guards into my living room.“Aside from my doctor, did someone else come into this house?” I asked them. They stared at each other, as though they didn’t understand the simple question I asked, and that was enough to make me upset.“Was my ex-husband here last night?” I asked in clearer terms. And then they began to stare at me as though I was saying something absurd. “Can someone freaking give me an answer?!” I fired at them.“No, Miss Nesse,” the head security answered. “Since the day he walked out of here, he hasn’t returned here,” he added.“You all haven’t been doing your jobs, huh?” I asked them angrily.“We have, ma’am. I can assure you that this mansion is properly secured,” he answered, speaking for the rest of them as well.“And yet, three men’s battered bodies were lying right here in my living room, and none of you could account for it,” I sneered at them. They looked away guiltily.“That was a one-time incident,
